I got a flip belt in small and medium and find both ride up to waist where i like it more lower on hips so i got a pathprojects shorts and glad i did. Sits in lower back zip pocket just nicely with 2 smaller side zipped pockets i carry a hanky and jells.

I find the best and most comfortable way to carry my cell phone on a run is in the inner brief pocket of 2-in-1 shorts. I particularly love the Reebok ones. The pocket in the inside brief holds it close and stable. If I don’t pay attention to it, the phone disappears or I don’t even notice it. Held close and snug to you body yet comfortable. I use belts and vest and would prefer the 2-in-1 shorts just for that.

utility belt is probably the worst one to use. once its full it becomes floppy with weight because it drops down from a belt.

Sounds Great, heard good reports on the flip-belt, I'll have to try one.

I tend to use one of two methods. Either my NB Q Speed 2 in 1 shorts which have a phone pocket on the inner part, or I use a Compressport Free Belt, which I prefer to the Flip Belt as it doesn't have the zips and you don't have to poke things into it, as the whole of the top is open, but still keeps things nice and secure. Or I stick it in the rear pocket of my sorts and use the belt to carry gels etc over the top.

I've been using flipbelt with the zip. Phone in the zip and I spin that to my back, and I carry a 250ml soft flask in the front of the flipbelt in one of the pouches.
I find if the soft flask is on my back it bounces, but when it's at the front, it kind of sits in the hip / tummy and doesn't budge. Plus the more you drink. The lighter it gets 👌

I'm surprised you didn't recommend putting it in the inner layered pocket of your 2 in 1 shorts, is there a reason for that? I haven't tried it yet, but am thinking about it. I'm about to run my first marathon and I usually just run with it in my hand or camelbak, which will probably suck if I have to do it for 26 miles. I have gut with love handles, so I don't know if the flip belt is ideal for my body type. My arms are also huge, so armbands aren't very comfortable either, plus you have to take it off if you want to mess with your phone. If I wear it on my forearm, I find I'm always adjusting it. Just trying to focus on the run and not what I'm wearing. Thanks.

Couldn’t agree more, buddy. I swear by a flip belt on a marathon! You can fit 7 gels AND the phone and gopro in!! Madness. Great minds think alike 😉

  • @Marsubleu

Flipbelt is pretty good indeed. However if not loaded enough it tends to come up the waist which I find annoying.
Another question is : how do you carry your gels and drink during long runs? I'm still to find a satisfying solution...

I don't run marathons but the zipped Flipbelt is the best investment I've made. I also have a Salomon belt similar to the Karrimor only because I wanted something that could carry water as well as my phone.
Sleeves or anything on my arm always slides down and never stays in place, no matter how much I try to adjust the position, or cut off circulation by tightening it.

I like my flipbelt, but it still feels like an extra bit of kit and extra weight. I prefer to wear half tights and put my phone in the side drop pockets. Simple.

@@FordyRuns thanks for the video mate! Always interesting to hear ideas about things like how to bring these huge phones on a run :D Personally, I usually don't take my phone on a race (unless it's needed for safety reasons), but on training runs I like to have it with me. Tried a lot of things, but long runs are always a big test (chafing...). So far the best option for me is to wear tights that have a pocket that fits a phone on the thigh. It needs to be tight enough to really keep it from moving around though and the Fusion C3 Short Tights are an absolute winner!
