Impressive!! You might want to consider renting a set of scaffolding to put on that top floor to help finish out those rafters. That ladder was looking kind of shaky. It's always fine line between brave and foolhardy. Unfortunately, you usually only realize it after the boundary has been crossed! I knew a farmer who got away with a lot of risk while working around machinery all of his life. Until around the age of 50 something. Now we call him Lefty. You're working alone. Making it happen! Just don't get hurt.
Hi Kerry, not really too much. I did a monolithic pour. I dug (12) 24” holes with a skid steer. Those holes are located directly under each post... then the concrete for the foundation was poured. Hope that helps!
@@kerrykole4158 Yep, reinforced with re-bar. in the holes and across the foundation. I dug the holes and laid the rebar, I had professionals do the concrete, I don't have a ton of experience with concrete, and 36x24 was too much for just me to manage. The 24" holes are probably serious overkill, but it's never going anywhere.
@@kerrykole4158 If you're dying for a laugh. You can watch me try and wrangle a opossum out of one of the holes I dug for the foundation. ruclips.net/video/1jfTyS1PnkA/видео.html
Looks like another winch would be a huge help!
Another winch you say? 💭
@@OffGridFromTheGroundUp yeah, one for both ends, so you don't have to struggle with carrying it up that ladder.
@@paulmonk7820 Oh yes, it will be done.

Just tuning in. Catching up on the build. I’ve been planning a post and beam for past year. Do you have vids of the pillars and the foundation?

@@OffGridFromTheGroundUp So, you poured the slab and pillars all at once then?

@@OffGridFromTheGroundUp great. Thank you very much. I’ll keep watching 👍
