Great video. Just a small correction: the onion component in lamprais is not ‘Lunu Miris’, it’s called ‘Seeni Sambal’. Basically, it’s caramelized onion curry.
Love this guys! Good representation of Sri Lankan food except a small correction. That’s not a Lamprais. (Pronounced: Lump-Rice not Loomp-Rice) it’s a normal packet of rice and curry. Lamprais is an authentic Sri Lankan Dutch Burgher packet of rice with totally different components and cooking method. For example there’s no fish cutlet or dhal in a Lamprais. Sri Lankan restaurants in North America should stop mislabeling Lamprais because we have to protect the sub-cultural identities of different communities in Sri Lanka.
Loved the video. Every single Latino person I have met has loved Sri Lankan food. Dinner should have been Kottu Roti instead of string hoppers. The one thing I have a little gripe with is that it's not an authentic Dutch Burgher Lamprais, which is something very specific. That Lamprais in the video is the simplified version. The Original Lamprais has a three-meat curry (Beef, Pork, and Chicken), Eggplant curry, ash plantain curry, Frikkadels (Beef Meatballs) instead of the fish cutlet, and some other stuff I can't recall. It takes a while to prepare, and it's almost impossible to find these days.
Sri lanaka foods are more healthy and u can taste that tropical spicy flavor🤤❤️ most of these food are traditional foods they keep from generation to generation and it still going so healthy .... i appreciate how sri lankans handle local foods and foreign foods cos if u go there u can see people eat modern fast foods and also traditional foods💕

Maybe you don't eat but pittu is normally eaten with curries in Sri Lanka. Although the most simplest way of eating pittu is with coconut milk and sugar.
