Having watched Brian’s lockdown videos I went a bought one of them VOX mini amps and for the price it’s bloody brilliant! Just wish I’d a big detached house in the country without neighbours so I can actually crank it up!
Thanks James for another great video. Keeping it real for us “normal” guitar hobbyists. I have a Vox vt20 modelling amp and a blackstar fly3. The fly is fantastic for quick quiet noodling and the vox has every sound I am ever likely to need. It’s a bigger version of the one BM used. Keep up the good work.
Thank you! I am starting out, got my red special but didn’t know what amp to get. I went with the mini Vox that Brian showed in his Instagram and now I know that was a good choice!
My tutor doesn't have an amp at home. I'm actually considering offering mine since I hate playing at home. I also have no idea how to really use the thing. Personally I think the sound is nicer with it plugged in. I have a generic amp a little bigger than a cat. It's the same brand the tutors use, but much smaller. Theirs has a built in tuner and distortion settings built in. Also more knobs that I have no idea how to put to good use. I also just want to play. Trying to get the same sound as another person is just added pressure. I'm having enough trouble trying to play chords without my middle finger pointing out. At least it gives us a good laugh.
Hello James, I want to know which Treble Booster you use, and if I need one because I think my sound is already approximately treble. Thank you for your tutorials :)
call me crazy, but I always preferred solid state amps over valve amps ... but i hardly ever use an amp nowadays , just play my electric guitar unplugged .. neighbours never complained ;)
I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS VIDEO. I use a £10 Bass amp with my red special so I am looking for an upgrade haha. Thank you James!
OMG 10£ with a 775£ guitar? Haha, interresting thing ;)

I know your pain, I own an ac30 so having it low is possible but at the loss of tone

For sound like Brian May, you can buy an irig and use tone bridge and amplitube.
I said that in the video 😊

I don't play guitar, but I really enjoy your videos about amps, pedels, etc.
This was very informative! I don't even have a guitar and I still found this interesting 👍🏻😃. 🌸
Interesting video James!!! 👍 Thanks.
Perfect. I was just about to ask for u to do a video like this. Thanks😄
Can you do one for pedals

The treble booster I use is built into the Vox BM1 amp
@@Rocklicks72 too bad this amp is almost not found

Would you recommend a Vox pathfinder 10 for a brian May tone?
With a treble booster, is good but prefere pathfinder 15 if you can
A lot of people get decent results but as in the other comment you really need a treble booster
It's all in the fingers. That's how to replicate the sound
Good video but you’re giving examples of snobbery not inverted snobbery.
Jason S You’re right. I tend to misuse the term “inverted snobbery” because it’s snobbery pretending to be good advice.
