Funny how similar a lot of our experiences are. I bought a 100 watt JCM 900 as my first upgrade from my beginner/solid state Peavey and Fender amps. It was also a 4x12 and WAY too much for what I needed. Next was a Vox AC 10 and then a Fender Deluxe Reverb 68 reissue. I've been very happy with the Vox/Fender either in combination or as solo amps since then. I absolutely agree that you should buy used when you can, but ask a lot of questions and if things sound too good to be true they probably are. Thanks for these great videos Rhett.
Also, play multiple copies of the amp you decide you want to buy! I played 4 or 5 Princeton 65 reissues and one sounded way better that the others and had a much lower noise floor.
My FIRST amps were little crappy fender front man 15s. a bass one and then a guitar one. But since then I got a Vox VT20 modeler, a Fender Princeton Reverb with a 12inch Cannabis Rex speaker and covered in tweed, and a Marshal DSL 40cr. I guess i got the three main catagories covered. though a proper Vox would be a nice upgrade. the VT20 does a decent job modeling the AC sounds. That one has actually been passed down to my 7 year old son lol.

I'll be flat out honest with you, that little Morgan AC20 sounded gorgeous and would likely be all I would ever need! That being said I have already started a savings fund for that unbelievably gorgeous Divided / 13 amp head!! Merry Christmas Rhett and Family and Merry Christmas to this community!!
Divided by 13 amps are pretty amazing, but so are the new Bad Cat amps. I have a Bad Cat Cub III 15R (combo amp) and it sounds glorious. I love it!!! It does the Vox AC30 sound so well and can get Fendery, as well. Check out Bad Cat amps, they are wonderful.
It just dawned on me why your channel stands out my friend. You mix in your own riffs and runs that you like to play with bursts of some familiar tunes that have gotten air play over the years. It makes the tones so much more relatable. From a guitar player’s perspective I feel more like I am trying out the gear. There are other popular RUclips channels that feature so much incessant noodling that actually hearing the tone becomes impossible. Great job. Keep playing and I will keep on listening. Hope to catch you in Nashville next time you are there.
I have a 1965 Gretsch (valco supro) it sounds very similar to my RED 1978 Marshall 50W. My 67 Dual Showman is pretty clean but the cleanest most incredible amp for power is my 65 Twin Reverb. I had the tube amp repair guy fix all my amps before retiring. The DS never has any problems. He grounded the plugs, and fixed a tube here and there. He told me in 45 years of amp repair the Twin was the best sounding amp he's ever heard. I got it home, plugged it in, (it had been in the attic for 15 years) and I was amazed all over again. I put 2 Vintage 30s in it several years ago and never used it after that.I think I can honestly say the power and clarity are unmatched. For rocking tone, I still prefer the Marshall. I am going to start working with the Gretsch more. Strange setup. an amp in the bottom and one on top. It's a bass amp, with an acordian input. Guessing it's got nothing going for bass, but it kicks ass for guitar. Thanks for this feature.
My first Tube Amp was a Marshall DSL40. I was lucky to have a pretty decent sales guy I worked with at Guitar Center and he pointed me towards that when I was looking for my first tube amp. It was used, but he knew the guy that had sold it and said the guy routinely bought stuff and sold it 6-12 months later so he knew it was well taken care of. I can turn it down and play it nicely at home, but it also had the power to play in a band. That was probably 12 years ago. A few years ago I finally bought my second Tube Amp, a Fender Blues Junior because I wanted a Fendery Amp at a price I could afford at the time and play at home. Love both of them since they give me different sounds for what I want at the time.
I found my perfect amp. I love my 65 DDRI. It covers a wide variety of music, is loud enough to play out with. It takes pedals well. And who can argue with the cleans?
Hey Rhett: That was one of your most enjoyable , informative vids you've done..in my opinion. Ben Calhoun and Righteous Guitars Rock! What knowledgeable guy. That's so nice to have a person that not only can dial in a sound for you, but also knows what sound you personally like. The have a beautiful store. Thanks for your vids!!! ✌♥️
Hi y’all, so I got rhett’s tone course, and I’m half way in, just loosing my ish it is so on point. I have been looking for a class like that FOR YEARS. I just want to say thanks to Rhett and hope that he knows he was made for this. I have been playing since 1993, And I about to build my first guitar rig, sounding exactly the way I wanted it to sound because of Rhetts course. Best wishes and stay safe y’all.
Yep. A lot of dough for a supped up Princeton... It does sound nice tho! I have an Allen but I often lust over a milkman (not a real milkman) and Tone King amps. I’d like them all tho, I’ve had every style (Fenders-Tweeds & BF, Vox, Mesa, and Marshall), miss them all. Am I the only one that thinks that divided amp is ugly and sounds OK, but not too spectacular??
How does the fender tweed range fit into your categories? Of course it sounds great clean, but when an amp starts to overdrive at 4/12 of the volume, I would not consider it an clean amp.
Ro Lux a clean amp with an over drive pedal included. To me it’s about how the amp dynamically react to the gain, not necessarily how much gain it has.
Roy Batty to you point amps diverge greatly from the big three. It’s just a handy way to narrow down what family it comes from. It’s kind of like defining music genres then shoehorning bands into the category. The definition may fit but it doesn’t tell you everything about the sound.
Shortly after starting learning guitar I also learned how to build my own guitar amps. I built a JTM45 from scratch...not a kit. I learned about every single component and how it worked. After building over 10 amps...my favorites are the Fender Blackface Princeton, Blackface Deluxe, JTM45, Fender Tweed Deluxe, and Fender Tweed Champ. Real components...real tubes...it just feels better playing these amps.
After playing 50+ years and going through Fenders, Mesas, Marshalls and Riveras, I finally broke down and got a Vox AC30HW2 a couple of years ago, and it will probably be the last "big" amp I'll ever buy. I can get any kind of sound I want from it, from country to hard rock, even jazz. The only down side is that it's so damn heavy!
I would never leave that room. Happy holidays Rhett! Keep on putting positive vibes and sharing your passion with the world. Positive vibes are so refreshing in this day and age.
I can get by with a blues Jr. and my pedal board. My highest powered amp is a 22 watt supersonic combo. We mic the amps with Plexi shielding most of the time to keep the stage volume down. All those amps you showed were way too expensive for most of the bands around here.
Rhett, I love how Slave is one of your go to test riffs, it shows up in your vids pretty often. I do the same thing because you have to find that articulated crunch. Great video!
If I had never discovered you I would have never known of Righteous Guitars. They are two hours from my home in Alabama but well worth the trip. during my first visit, they PLEK’d my JB Flying V and introduced me to the divided by 13 line. Awesome, down to earth staff with top shelf service. Thank you for all your videos.
If Mike Soldano had made a SLO20, that would be my dream amp. Especially with separate EQ for each channel. I'm hoping Friedman puts the smallbox into a 20 watt head.
My rig for about 15 years consisted of a 1966 Fender Super Reverb and a 1965 Fender Pro Reverb. I ran them in Stereo just using an old Ibanez chorus to split the signal and the first series rat for Distortion and man I was in seventh heaven! I wish I still had those amps particularly that Pro Reverb!
I am a big fan of Vox amps especially the hand wired made in UK ones. They have a very unique chimey and jangle tone than either Marshall or Fender plus can get down with decent high gain and overdrive.
I got the chance on day to play thru a 1961 Vox AC30 un modified amp at fairly high volume in a gtr shop. OMG! :O It sounded SO wonderful, I came close to creaming in my jeans! I was literally weeping with joy as I rocked out to my hearts content. I will never forget that amp and how heavenly a well made amp can sound with a great gtr (Fender American Telecaster).
A Mesa Triple Rectifier with a 4x12 cab would be perfect for me ( and the type/style/genre of music I play). Still, a very informative video for those that don't understand the history of amplifiers and know what modern amps are actually based off of. Even as complicated as a Triple Rectifier may be for some, it still has very humble beginnings.
Your little silent-film-like tag at the end, "But here we are," made me chuckle out loud, lol. Nicely done. And what a great sales guy - he can really articulate subtle characteristics and their underpinnings in an extremely helpful way that is sadly very rare. Thank him for me if you read this. And keep a little for yourself. ;)
I don't care what people say about capitalists, but that guy is a perfect combination of instrumental/amp knowledge, enthusiasm and greed :) I would LOVE to have that guy in a a shop like that close to my home. And Rhett, You might not be the best guitarist in the world, very few of us are, but my god, You are close...and your style is so beautiful it makes me green of envy! And hey, bring that Divided by 13 home. Happy Holidays to both (all) of You :)
Incredible guitar and amp selection. Spent a couple hours there and was a pure treat. My son lives in the area and I was there visiting from Tennessee. People there are helpful and knowledgeable. Best music store anywhere. Thanks for this video guys!
That was truly awesome and the best amp comparison video I've ever watched as it really touched on all of the important elements anyone should consider when purchasing one. Makes me wish I had the money (and space) to add a few of them to my measly collection.
I could see the moment you seemed to "click" with the last amp lol. He tweaked the gain/high end and it just fell into place. Yeah it's sounds incredible. It just has an excellent high end sizzle that isn't too thin or too full, it's just right.
Amps have changed so much from when I first started using distortion pedals and my Electro-Harmonix Poly Chorus. I recently bought a little Vox for my room with so many effects built in it's ridiculous.
FINALLY!!!! EVERY demo vid should have a GOOD guitarist playing (and not everything at breakneck speed) and another playing with the controls, demo'ing a variety of tones in real time as the player plays. WELL DONE!!!
i love seeing other youtubers in other's videos. you being a part of Beato's circle and the 5 watt world guy mentioning Rick in the last video i saw makes me happy. love your content. that sleeper gibson amp and video is awesome
I've tried Fender, Marshall and Blackstar. But when I found a Blackheart Hansome Devil 15 combo I was home.. This amp has so much caracter, it makes any guitar come to life, fantastic!! Great channel, keep up the good work. Gr33tz, Peter
Never considered how important it was to take so much factors into account to find the most perfect and suitable amp. I think this is really enlightening to say the least, and I of course appreciate the knowledge and information! Cheers
I have a JRT 9/15 combo and have gigged with it on the 9W setting. And I primarily play clean with pedals for crunch and drive. The amp sounds huge all out of proportion to the power rating. Fred is a magician.
Awesome video Rhett. All of your videos are great BUT...the videos are Ben are by far my favorite. His guitar knowledge is second to none and he has a way of taking something like buying a new guitar or a new amp, a process which could be overwhelming in 2019 and finds a way to simplify it and make a much less daunting task. Really hoping for more of these videos.
I've had the perfect amp for over 20 years now A Fender CS Tonemaster 100 watt head through a 4/10 or an old 70s Vox 2/12 so it's manageable as far as moving around My combo is a 60s Ampeg Reverborocket w an upgraded spkr which made all the difference So very happy amp wise Very cool 👍 Thanks
these guitar and amp comparison talk throughs are really good and unique. The high level categorizations and then showing examples of each category is eye opening. Its very intimidating walking into a guitar store and not knowing what certain guitars sound like or what certain amps sound like and, when i was growing up, staff were not open to an enthusiastic kid trying out equipment unless it was clear they were buying that day. Thanks for doing these walk throughs
Rhett - I've been a customer of Righteous since day one, but it wasn't obvious to me until this second video that you need to work on Rick to pull Ben into the b5 family and start expanding his presence online. Your videos with Ben are always among your best.
Some great amps. Really liked that BRT. But to be honest, I want all of them! :/ Also I appreciate your classic rock type playing as opposed to all the metal guys on youtube.
That guy had his way with you, well the amp did for sure. JUST GET IT!!!It sounds so good! Frankly you are a player that can actually justify the cost. Best vid yet.
Chance Terrill I’m going against you only because I think the smallbox limited would be more for him. Or then again now that I think it thru, maybe for Rhett you could be right. Plus, I think he can get a lunchbox size with the DS. 20 watts with a mic.
@@abcdefghijklmnop7873 the 40 is tube rectified like the /13 he's into plus it has the gain switch so he can pull gain out for a jtm clean tone.....you would think being one channel it's not versatile but I swear it's the most versatile amp I've ever played...... Chance Terrill oh I didn’t know too much about the DS but I was going to say my SB has that bouncy feel. Maybe it’s because I have the extra channel. It’s like a 3rd channel. Idk but I know that feel. I didn’t think the regular SB had enough gain so I sold it and moved up to the limited. Some dirt pedals have that bounce and some are stiff. Sometimes I’ll ask a sales guy does it have that bouncy feel or is it stiff and they don’t know what I mean. it’s nice to see a fellow Friedman lover on here. I have a certain amp big name amp co it is very stiff. Idk want to get sued. I’ll let you guess. One of the major guys. There’s no more stores in this city so I’m now forced to buy online. There’s nothing I can get to that carries the stuff I wanted. The PT did not have the bouncy feel either now that I think about it.

I've seen Paul McCartney's newest band from 2001 on a couple years later and Rusty Anderson was running a couple of Divided by 13 amps in stereo and the tone was just beyond glorious! If I had the cash that would be my rig of choice. But I'm not hurting by any means! My current rig is a Tone King Imperial Mark 1 and a Dr. Z Maz 18 jr. With two tens with a modest pedalboard running them in stereo. It's ridiculously beautiful! No complaints here! Oh, btw, I sometimes add my John Fromell modded Blues Jr to the mix just to be a tone idiot!!
Well considering Marshall hasn’t made a good amp in decades most EL34 amps are better than a Marshall and in a world of Friedmans and Divided by 13’s they’re better not just sound wise but build quality. Does Marshall even make handwired amps any more?
@@cardbored_ I would’t take a Friedman over my Marshall 1959 Handwired. But then again, I had a good master volume installed on mine. I think Marshall’s Plexi varieties, JCM800s, and Silver Jubilees hold up quite well. But I can’t comment on the more affordable amps.
Great video! I loved how everything was broken down into the 3 main categories with characteristics of each. I’d love to see a video from you similarly discussing overdrive pedals!
Some great sounding amps in this video - My first proper amp was a Laney GH100L with matching 4x12, and it was great - lovely clean tone that handles pedals (or multi FX since it was the 90s) really well, I still have it and it's great, but the 4x12 is at the back of a cupboard and almost never gets out these days. I've been really lucky to have owned a few other amps over the years which gives me a crazy number of options, but that old Laney is still going, just through a smaller cabinet these days.
Right on... I found my tone with the Laney Ironheart. Love it. Its my show and recording amp. I use a Marshall 4x12 with it, or a GK 2x12, depending where Im playing. I like Laney a lot
I picked a new brand amp over a Marshall in mid 80s.. It sounded so much better..... I can honestly say that marshall is way overrated and overpriced. I recently sold that amp as I was moving abroad but it sounded as good as it did the day I purchased it

Either way, Merry Christmas to you Rhett and here's to another year of your really enjoyable videos
Sticking with my Lab Series L5's. They have the best clean sounds and take pedals really well. Best amps ever. Just ask Allan Holdsworth, BB King, Ty from Kings X etc. Their jazz tone is as bell-like as possible but you have to have the original CTK speakers. I found an L5 with Peavey black widows in it and replaced them with old 16ohm CTK's. Amazing difference. That being said, some of these amps will sound completely different with different speakers. It gets really complicated. For me it's simplified. I know a famous jazz player who also teaches at the U of Miami and he has FIVE L5's in his possession.
I saw Ty’s L5 BEFORE they announced it! It had black electrical tape over the L5 label. LOL! I asked the amp tech, isn’t that an L5 and you would have thought I was giving away national security secrets!
Do you mean CTS speakers? I have never heard of CTK - Ty Tabor used marshall cabs with his LAB when I saw him. Even the interviews mention he made the L5 into a head - he did not use the combo speakers.
Re. master volume, even if you can put it in an isolation box and crank it, your power amp tubes will last longer if you don't hammer them. So a MV still makes sense unless you are made of money. Ben is excellent. Great knowledge and advice.
Hey Rhett... ask your Guru Ben what he thinks of the new Mesa Boogie Mark V 25 10" Combo. I've been looking at the V 25 head, but now that the 10" combo is out... it might cover recording at home and playing on a quiet stage(via cab clone) and could cover any other application with the 10" speaker or plugging into a 1 x 12 or 2 x 12 cabinet(or my avatar 2 x 10 cab). Is that amp about the best for covering a whole gamut of styles of music?

Try a hiwatt on a high volume. You'll fall in love!
Wow Ben really knows how to describe the sound of an amp.
Carr Mercury V would be worth trying to see if it’s a good fit. Tone, versatility, portability, features.
I made a trip to Righteous a few weeks ago. It's an incredible place the staff are the best !
The Milkman Creamer was awesome until I saw the price. 😮
I prefer clean (Fenderish), dirty (Voxy) and nasty (Marshalled) for classifying. 😊
Joseph Rabb yep
That's awesome! You had a background in electronic engineering or you learnt everything from ground zero?
One thing this video sells really well, is the beauty of P90s.
You guys are making me GAS for some p90’s now big time!
The only down side is that it's so damn heavy!
yep, stupid heavy, mine never leaves the house because of that
I would never leave that room.
This is a various amps demo video of different types of amps. Not a “how to get by with a blues Jr.” Video 😂
Rhett, I love how Slave is one of your go to test riffs, it shows up in your vids pretty often. I do the same thing because you have to find that articulated crunch. Great video!
wind cries marry beautiful one of may favorite songs jimi was a musical genious
really? ive never heard of him or the song
SLO30 is coming!!
His 25 watt 'anniversary' amp was pretty close. But $$$ !!!
REM agrees.
The hw is not made in the uk.
I own one - mine was absolutely manufactured and assembled in the UK.
Speaking as a former Philly rock station DJ, it is so sweet to hear those riffs played well.
Thanks Ralf!
Michael Inglis agreed
Amps have changed so much from when I first started using distortion pedals and my Electro-Harmonix Poly Chorus. I recently bought a little Vox for my room with so many effects built in it's ridiculous.
Loved it when he played "Slave" on the tweed. Keith is such a boss
FINALLY!!!! EVERY demo vid should have a GOOD guitarist playing (and not everything at breakneck speed) and another playing with the controls, demo'ing a variety of tones in real time as the player plays. WELL DONE!!!
Nice. Can you next do find the perfect guitar pick?
Have you tried the fender Tru-shell are the Clayton nutone protein picks?
bluechippick.net
Expensive, but absolutely worth it.
Michael Mc Five Watt World Keith has you covered on picks 😂
They can try.
i love seeing other youtubers in other's videos. you being a part of Beato's circle and the 5 watt world guy mentioning Rick in the last video i saw makes me happy. love your content. that sleeper gibson amp and video is awesome
also i just did the dicaprio meme of pointing at the TV when you played Slave off tattoo you!
OMG finally a video with a BTR23!!! Such a great amp and I love mine.
That BTR23 blew me away, a truly stunning amp and to my ears it was the standout one by far, which says a lot because there are some great amps here!
I've tried Fender, Marshall and Blackstar.
But when I found a Blackheart Hansome Devil 15 combo I was home..
This amp has so much caracter, it makes any guitar come to life, fantastic!!
Great channel, keep up the good work.
Gr33tz,
Peter
Never considered how important it was to take so much factors into account to find the most perfect and suitable amp. I think this is really enlightening to say the least, and I of course appreciate the knowledge and information! Cheers
I wish every music store salesman was as knowledgable as Ben. Great video, I learned a lot.
So. Did you walk away or walk out with it?
Tilly’s got those divorce papers ready at the helm.
@@ElephantTusks 😂
I have a JRT 9/15 combo and have gigged with it on the 9W setting. And I primarily play clean with pedals for crunch and drive. The amp sounds huge all out of proportion to the power rating. Fred is a magician.
what is the song name at 09:27 ?
Sounds like Gerdunadula by status quo but I’m not sure, sounds like what he played but higher.
It’s “Tie your Mother down” by Queen...you have to wade through the introduction, but it’s there!
@@christianvanhorn8446 Perfect!!! Thank you man!!!
The sales guy used up his yearly allotment of air quotes lol.
No mention of channel switchers? I play in a top 40 cover band and use a Suhr PT15IR. Very versatile amp!
Damn a top 40 cover band? Sorry to hear that man
FuzzyDancingBear 😂😂😂
If you need a channel switcher to play in a top 40 cover band I think that's a good reason to ban channel switchers!
:-)
@@FuzzyDancingBear its actually really fun! and the weddings this season bought me custom molded 6 driver in ears and a Suhr Alt-T Pro
@@Slothclawcolseslaw I dont doubt it man, just giving you sum shit
these guitar and amp comparison talk throughs are really good and unique.
I’m going out to look at a used Swart tonight!
Also I appreciate your classic rock type playing as opposed to all the metal guys on youtube.
Ben is the best. I'm determined to get to Righteous Guitars and make a purchase. It's really cool that he takes the time to help with these videos.
Great video Rhett...this will help folks make a good decision when it comes to purchasing their sound. RAWK!
That guy had his way with you, well the amp did for sure. JUST GET IT!!!It sounds so good! Frankly you are a player that can actually justify the cost. Best vid yet.
Rhett look in to a Friedman dirty shirley 40. it is ur amp. Can go from tweed to jcm 800.with lushious jtm 45 cleans
It responds to ur volume stupidly well,..... Like even better than a smallbox (that was the amp I thought I wanted before playing the DS40) I have clean channel crunch channel lead channel n solo boost with just a volume knob and les paul switching...... Ps..... If there wasn't a dirty shirley 40 the small box would be my favorite amp both are exceptional..... The Shirley just felt more 70s classic rock to me..... N it has this chewy bounce under your fingers.... Smallbox was more stiff n 80s vibey.....different strokes.

Crazy how small this community is. Ben sold me my first few pieces of gear at the guitar center on 41. I also went to AIM. It’s great to see both of you flourishing .

Chance Terrill oh I deleted where I said that. They truly are the best. I personally wasn’t thrilled with the pink tacos master volume it was so loud. We live in an apt. I think the others have better master volumes. Even though they’re louder wattage. I definitely said my search is over. And nothing compares to it.

I think I played that exact Divided By 13 amp when I picked out a guitar at Righteous. Just a glorious sounding amp.
Rhett...thank you for all you do.
Hey Tilly... there's a gold SG and an amp at Righteous guitars that Santa may want to give Rhett...just saying...😂
Unfortunately the gold SG sold the day after he came in
Chivalry218 it sold right after they saw Rhett play it. It was $5 grand plus tax.

Silver lining, there's still a possibility for a Junior
That ÷13 amp is the bomb - what an incredibly articulate, perfect monster tone that is!
„Better than a Marshall“ is a concept I cannot for the life of me understand. Is this something mythical like „leftover pizza“?
Well considering Marshall hasn’t made a good amp in decades most EL34 amps are better than a Marshall and in a world of Friedmans and Divided by 13’s they’re better not just sound wise but build quality. Does Marshall even make handwired amps any more?
@@cardbored_ I would’t take a Friedman over my Marshall 1959 Handwired. But then again, I had a good master volume installed on mine. I think Marshall’s Plexi varieties, JCM800s, and Silver Jubilees hold up quite well. But I can’t comment on the more affordable amps.
Twin reverb amplifier is my favorite! I feel most comfortable knowing it's got my back at any gig!
The perfect amp for me is my Kemper.
Gay, but okay
I think that the next time I'm home in FL & want to take a road trip, I'm going to cruise to Righteous Guitars. I do love me a great independent shop.
Funny how they are sitting in a somewhat "sound treated" room and I can hear the echoes bouncing off the walls when they talk.
Hahahaha, Rhett bought a brother amp. Congratulation on the new baby Rhett! She’s a beaut!!! And I love the way you made her cry. Lol.
Better than Marshall ? That's like trying to find the most beautiful woman or handsomest man. It's really a matter of taste.
robert wong doutzen kroes, brad pitt
I picked a new brand amp over a Marshall in mid 80s.. It sounded so much better..... I can honestly say that marshall is way overrated and overpriced.
I recently sold that amp as I was moving abroad but it sounded as good as it did the day I purchased it

Another great video, thanks to you both. I wish you'd made this years ago as it would have saved me a fortune in experimentation but I had a fun journey from Marshall, to Fender to AC style amps back to Fender.
Once you've been playing for a few years, you'll find that the gear, amp, cable, pick, brand etc. have less and less to do with playing music.
Correct. It all comes down to the color of the guitar. But for some it takes a little longer and a little more money to realize that.
I can make ANY amp get a usable tone.
So did you buy it? Treat yourself, you know you want it!
Treat myself to a 2nd hand AXE-FXIII a few weeks back, not a pro player and been a Fractal AX 8 guy for the past few years. Blew money on it cause I could and delighted with the III, it's amazing
Let us know if you got it, the shop should give you a really good deal considering all the advertising you do for them!
Either way, Merry Christmas to you Rhett and here's to another year of your really enjoyable videos
I have the feeling that I don't even want to have a guitar store where the staff knows what I want cause I would be poor after each visit XD
6L6's charge my particles. Mesa is how i roll.
Re. master volume, even if you can put it in an isolation box and crank it, your power amp tubes will last longer if you don't hammer them.
I'm here because of Rick, looking forward to getting to know your material, you came across as a genuine musician and person.
