      My first amp was a peavey from the earlier 90s. A special solo 120w. Fantastic amp. I sold it for £40 when I was desperate for fuel to get to work. Didn't realise they are selling for about £200 these days. Wish I'd kept it and phoned in sick now.

    I have the Yamaha THR and it's perfect for recording purposes, not just practising or pointless noodling. The USB stereo tracking option is very good.

    I had the Mustang for a couple of years when I restarted my guitar journey and loved it so much I replaced it with a Fender GTX and sold the little guy to another beginner. For a bedroom player the Fenders are really hard to beat, although I also have a NUX Might Plug for the times I just want to practice with headphones only. So many amazing options, especially compared to the first time I was a beginner in the late 80s!

    Pssh...that Orange Crush 20RT might be an inexpensive, little, solid-state amp, but those tones are TOTALLY recordable for a serious project! I need that in my life! :D

    My first amp was a Behringer HA-20R. Sensational price-performance ratio, sounds surprisingly good for the low price, 3x more expensive Orange, Marshall and Fox amps don't get the super sound either. I still like to use it to practice at home. Otherwise, I'm using Felletta amps today.

    I have the THR 30II and it's phenomenal (when you use the editor) to Dial-in your Cab's, Delays, Reverbs, Gate & Compression. The Crunch sounds are just-ok, but the Pristine Cleans and the Van Halen tones are Legit. This amp is not about Volume, it's for those who appreciate: high-quality & inspirational guitar tones.

    my first amp was a crate rfx120. absolutely loved that thing and i regret getting rid of it. Was a simple amp, took pedals very well. head loads of headroom and some effects that didn't stink.

    My first amp was a peavey backstage 10 watt “trans tube”. We used to try jam with it, but it couldn’t keep up with the drums “loudness” haha eventually I was gifted the Line 6 Spider 2 amp, had that for a long time and now I have a orange crush solid state 100 watt

    An old beat up Peavey Rage from the glory days. Didn’t even have reverb. Remembered it sounded awesome (probably not); then went and bought an equally cheap Park amp, which totally looked like a Marshall and even sounded like one. Life was great when things were simpler!

    NICK and DON… quite the Dynamic Duo!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👍
    Both with their respective styles of playing. Truly dig the amps featured. Like to have seen them both using the same model and make guitars through each amp, since the guitars themselves truly change the sound of the AMP.

    Ive been using an acoustic guitar amp to practice but I think Im actually getting to the point where my playing would sound decent with an actual amp made for my guitar
    Thanks a lot for the video guys!

    i am seeing that you are a left handed guitarist too. I am a beginner looking for my first guitar, both electric and acoustic. One thing I noticed is when I was playing my friend's right handed guitar, I seem fine strumming with my right hand. However, considering in long term, if I ever want to master electric guitar riffs, I feel like I wouldn't be able to strum quick comfortably with my right hand. I do everything left handed so I am pretty left dominant. Should I push myself to adjust to a right handed normie guitar? Or should I try a left handed guitar> (lefties have less choice and tutorials are always made for righties )
    i hope some lefties can help me out :((

      Get a Squier CV tele or a Epiphone LP Special, their both available in lefty models and an Orange Crush 12 amp and you'll be good to go.

    • @tosehoed123
      @tosehoed123 6 месяцев назад

      I know its probably too late but i started with a leftie since my dad is one. But when i first bought a guitar i made myself learn right hand and its made everything a lot easier and it wasnt that harder. Its all hard in the beginning and since you use both hands it can be an advantage to have your fretting hand be your dominant hand as it is when lefties play rights

    • @TeamStevo24
      @TeamStevo24 5 месяцев назад

      Hey bud, I'm a Lefty too, and started playing when I was 12yrs. old. I'm still playing at 60yrs. old. I pretty much had to learn to play right-handed as very few left-handed guitars were around then Jimi Hendrix played a right-handed Fender Stratocaster with the strings strung backwards {upside down}. As for me, I re-taught myself to play right-handed and am better than most right-handers. But today, thousands of left-handers are available. Get one of those, it will be more natural for you I think.

    You didn't put a mic in front of the amps so we could hear the real sound as it sounds in the room. Especially that small one.

    It was unclear to me how they switch between sounds on these amps. Are they switching a knob really fast or using a foot pedal or what?

    Let's be honest, the katana 50 mk2 is the best beginner amp, and the fender mustang lt25 is the second best.
    Any other "beginner" amp is trash that no one should ever buy.

    • @devdiablo8949
      @devdiablo8949 Год назад +1

      Especially those cheap Marshalls. It's so sad to see people buy a Marshall because of the brand name, only for them to be disappointed. When people say "Marshall", they're really talking about a JCM 800.

    • @SteamDek
      @SteamDek Год назад +1

      @@devdiablo8949I had a DSL20C that I bought at my first "real amp", which before that, I had a line 6 spider 2... I bought it because it had "Marshall" and "Tube"... boy was it awful. Even a speaker swap didn't fix that. I ended up getting a Victory Super Kraken, which can do both Marshall and 5150 in the same box, way better than the Marshall actually did 😂

  • @buffdaddy2032

    I disagree on a lot of these amps for beginners. First a beginner needs to focus on learning to play guitar not play around with so much on a amp that they don't even practice guitar. Second you ran the spark go direct which is not a true sound of the amp. The spark mini is a far better choice . Also a Roland micro cube .

      Hi,
      I wonder if it'll be good to get Marshall Mg 10 or the Fender 10g as my practice amp (I'm new to this so I don't really have any idea lol plus my budget is limited as a teen).

    • @geoffh784
      @geoffh784 11 месяцев назад

      The Fishman Loudbox mini is a great small aucoustic amp but it’s more intermediate than beginner, IMO I’d have chosen the Fender Aucoustasonic 40 as a the best beginner Aucoustic amp (full disclosure I bought one for my daughter as her first aucoustic amp).

    • @TeamStevo24
      @TeamStevo24 5 месяцев назад

      I agree 100% with the learning part, but I also think you should learn first on an Acoustic Guitar so you can hear the twangs and un clean notes

    Stop to call small and budget friendly amps beginner amps. Beginners are inspired by their musical Idols ;) So better call these amps bedroom amps, practise amps oder travel amps ;) I am a clean guy, therefore all these cruchy sounds don´t give anything. By the way: very good vid with extremely proper sound. Thank you :)
