My question is whether I need to look for a spider (combined switch by part number) or can I just find a spider from the year of my car and have it have the same rear wiper switch as mine, etc., everything is identical to So far I only have a switch for the cruise control and whether it can be coded with a computer, e.g. Autel, which has coding functions. Hardware controls the rear wiper. If you don't have the right switch board in the steering column, then you can't swap over stalks. I'm a tried and tested fail

Hello George! At minute 4:50 you talk about swapping the wiper stalk pulling out the stalk itself and disconnecting the ribbon cable. Is just easy as pulling the ribbon cable? It seems to be quite hard and i'm afraid to brake something

George Austers never mind got it fitted and coded in my E82 following BMW Z4 Mods channel. Only thing that I did differently was instead of using the DSC_89.PRG file I used the DSC_87.PRG for my E82
I've changed my SZL but because it was from a used car the VIN doesn't match up so I can't calibrate the steering angle sensor. I've tried looking for part 2, the coding video, but can't find it anywhere. Did it ever get made?
You have to buy the right model (LCI or Pre LCI) and the from the right car. For example, my LCI E91 needed the unit from an LCI E91, i tried a pre LCI and still didn't work

Hi, did you have any issues after fitting the rear wiper stalk to the non rear wiper szl? What additional coding/programming steps were required to get this to work? I've just been playing with an e90 szl for my e81 and after swapping the stalk over it seems that the szl needs to be reprogrammed for this to work. cheers
I just did my retrofit today, and unfortunately after changing the wiper stock and all coding I have noticed that my indicators stock and wiper stock have been not working at all. I do believe it is to do with the compatibility, because I took out the steering angle sensor out of pre LCI 330d e90, and have put it on LCI 318d E91. So I didn’t even bother to try it out if the cruise control worked or not. I have read some treads on the net saying that the 3.0L have had adaptive cruise controls with auto braking etc. and 2.0 have had just the speed maintaining ability with no braking at downhills

You don't just add a new button, and it magically works. Obviously, it didn't work, so there's no part 2. You will need an additional module and maybe proximity sensor. "No coding was needed"😂😂
i don't think is that easy, im trying to do the same installation for weeks now, and guess what... swapping ur wheel and cutting 2 wires is not what is all about... most of them forget to mention u also need the cruise control module GM5 which is not the same as the comfort module GM5 ... and sure connecting the steering wheel to the main DDE or the car CPU is easy... but that CPU has to talk with the GM5 cruise control module... and if u don't have it ... u will get ur acceleration blocked and killurself... so most of this tutorials are 50% of the job... you should also show us which modules do you have and how u connected that cruise module to the main cpu. in my case for example, i have the comfort white box e46 series right? but i also need the cruise control unit, to control multimedia and cruise control, while the steering wheel wiring to cpu is correct i have no cables (25 pins wires) that go to the cpu from cruise control... so i find it a bit weird this will work without an actual cruise control unit... just placing a steering wheel and connect 2 wires cmon...

You should get a trim removal kit. They’re really cheap and avoid breaking some clips or scratching plastic stuff ...

If you buy stalks without rear wiper functionality(sedan version) switching only old wiper control stalk wont work.
If you install stalks without rear wiper it still works tho, apart from rear window wiper.
And what is the solution? You can activate it somehow?
