      Wow, thank you! I appreciate your kind feedback and words of support and encouragement. Congrats on such wonderful contributions as an author! It just starts with taking that content from your books and transitioning it into an online course that offers results and outcomes for the student or solves a problem for them in some way. What topic are your books about?

    Thanks Ashlee for the video. Watched many of your videos when we first transitioned to online teaching due to the pandemic. The best tip I got from you was playing music before the class starts.

      Wonderful! I'm so glad that was the best tip as it is still my favorite thing to do. I try to switch up the music to fit the theme of the class or to offer a way to set a mood for them that day. If I feel like they could use a little energy boost then I use upbeat music or if I want to gently start class to calm anxiety or stress I use soothing music without lyrics. such a great way to set the mood! What music is your favorite to use for your classes?

    Excellent work, again, Ashley! I would reemphasize your point that not all good techniques are good for every teacher or every student.

      Very true! We all teach with different techniques and that's why I always enjoy hearing what other teachers are doing these days along with what they find worked and didn't work for them. I've found Facebook groups extremely helpful the past year for hearing what others are doing and sharing these types of quick tips. I think we as educators have survived the past year by supporting each other. Thanks for your comment and support!

    Your videos are always so good, thank you. I have some videos online in one of my courses. They need alot of work :). I'm so glad to be back teaching face to face. I love working in Canvas, but all online can be so difficult sometimes.

      I'm so jealous of you right now :) I'm still teaching all online and I am at the point where I just need one class in person to feel that connection again rather than through a computer. I agree with you that all online can be so difficult. It's those days in a Zoom class where everyone is on mute and you just wonder if they are even enjoying the class that gets to me lately. Or those days where you set up an exam in Canvas incorrectly and then have to figure out how to fix it after they've already completed it. I just wonder where we will be with education in the coming years after all of this.

      @@VirtualTeachingPro I really feel for you. It's so hard to tell if they really understand what your saying .It also can be so very hard to get a disscusion going. I have alot of respect for insturctors teaching online. I had to take all my classes online for 3 months when COVID started. I'm am old teacher LOL. I'm working a program modification, so new certificate and diploma. Also some new courses. The school is also going to let me teach on a 165 contract instead of a 205. Then I'll be able to teach specialized class off contract during the summer. Which I really like doing, because those students are working engineers and ask difficult questions and really pay attention. Keep up the great content !!!

      One day at a time. Keep it simple and effective and remember you can always test, see what works and what doesn’t, then readjust.

    Hi Ashley,I'm from Indonesia. Love this video!It gives me such a high spirit. Thanks ❤️I'm teaching English online,but I haven't made a video,not even one. Can I survive teaching online even after pandemic? For I started to enjoy teaching from the corner of my house and reach learners from different part of Indonesia...

      @VirtualTeachingPro  2 года назад

      You can do it! That's the part about online teaching that I love is that you can reach people from other parts of the world that might not be able to travel for learning or education. How wonderful that you are connecting and helping learners from other part so of Indonesia. I'm sure they are so grateful for that opportunity. I've found that creating mini videos is the best way to try it out when you are first creating video content for you students.
