Then your next option is to buy a simple web cam to attach to your computer for better quality. If it’s an older phone and computer then that might be why it’s over heating.

Thank you for this, Ashlee! It's so informative, and congratulations on building such a solid online business. I'm currently juggling online classes, courses, and trying to piece everything together into a cohesive business model. I'm considering adding a community aspect but feel unsure about what to include. How many one-to-one sessions would you recommend per week (and members in the community) to keep the business running sustainably and avoid burnout? I’d only be able to take on a small number of members if I offered two one-on-one coaching sessions per month in a package, along with managing the community, launches, and social media. It all feels a bit overwhelming!

Learning something new is difficult which is why I also provide additional information on each step so you have a clear understanding of why each step is important. That's how I teach my students and how I create content here on RUclips. If that method of learning doesn't work for you then that's okay. Happy teaching.

You’re right, grading is a part of the education system but I was aiming to broaden how to assess learning and not just be stuck on grades.

What is painful? Having a back up of your course content in formats you can use the rest of you career is painful? I do not use Google classroom. I am not sending you to Google classroom. I used a Google doc for this if that's what you mean? That's not Google Classroom. You can not often import entire course modules from canvas into other platforms. Especially if they do not support additional apps or programs that you used to create the course in your past institution. I've had this happen to me many times and many other faculty I have worked with in the past that come to me when they can not access the course work they spent years working on inside Canvas with no back up.

@@VirtualTeachingPro There are some 3rd party tools like Relokia. The schools CIO and technology departments should have a migration plan and resources to make this easier. This should not be the responsiblity of the teachers. But, if that is not an option, I would just rebuild the class and leverage resources from my textbook provider. If the school is moving to say, Canvas, most publishers will help the teachers build their courses.

@@cybermonkeyusa Most publishers do not help teachers build their courses if they move to Canvas unfortunately. I've worked with hundreds of educators and institutions who've migrated from platforms into Canvas and it's always the same story...they start from scratch typically on their own which exactly what I created this channel and this video in particular.

@@VirtualTeachingPro I do it all the time with Pearson, McGraw-Hill and other publishers. All you have to do is ask your reps.

Hey there. Not that I’m aware of. I’ve always done it as a new doc each week to keep it easy to grade and easy for them to navigate. Making it all one doc would just mean you would need to grade it end of semester I think which can get confusing I think for both to and the student. Other option is to go old school and have them do it on paper notebook and then bring in end of semester to grade. I’ve tested this out and sometimes it’s actually more fun for them. Just depends on your needs and preference.
