    This is excellent. I teach the same course for two institutions and have been frustrated with moving modules and videos. This is great! Thank you.

      Happy to help. I used to have the same situation and I would create/update the course in one institution class and then export it to the other. Saves time when it pretty much the same. Then just update dates, etc and you’re good to go!

      You are so welcome! I've kept all of the Canvas tutorials still up on my channel but now my new content is focused on musical theatre. I'm glad those videos are still helping fellow instructors out there!

    Thank you so much, Ashlee! Your videos have been indispensable with my first 2 semesters teaching online. Every time I run into a question, I come straight to your channel for help!

      glad to be of help! I've recently re focused my channel content but I've left all of the videos about online teaching up here. I hope they offer you some inspiration and guidance 🤗 They are still organized by playlists if that helps find them easily among my new content for peformers.

    Great video!
    What software did you use to create it?
    I love the way you’ve layered interactive text & can see your face as you talk through the instructions.

      THanks! I list all of the equipment and programs in the description box if that helps with links to check it out. I edit all my content in FilmoraX. Link in the video description!

    Hi Ashlee! If leaving an institution and unsure if I will be teaching a course again, but would love to get thigs into Word docs, can I do that? I thought you mentioned it, but couldn't find a videe on it.

      Hi! This is a tricky one here. If you are wanting to save your course content then you'll need to copy and paste the text in a google doc or word doc yes. You can't export a canvas course and use it in any other form (at least not in my experience.) What I do is create all the content in a google doc then put it in a slide format for in person teaching. I'll take all or that content and use it for creating my canvas courses that way I always have a back up and optional way of continuing to the teach the course. It's time consuming yes but worth it in the long run.

    I exported the course content as shown in the video, but when I try to import it into another course, after selecting the file and clicking the import button, it says 'pre-processing' in the 'Current Jobs' section instead of 'queued'. Why could this be happening?

    Hello Ashlee, Can I as an instructor have my own LMS Canvas and how can I get it? Thank you.

    • @VirtualTeachingPro
      @VirtualTeachingPro  3 года назад

      Hi there. You can get a free limited version on the Canvas website to try out but it is mostly a product that is purchased through an institution.

    If as a student I export my canvas course and save it on my PC can I still access the course for the following year?

    • @VirtualTeachingPro
      @VirtualTeachingPro  2 года назад

      Not sure that’s possible as a student. I don’t think you have access to export your course content and save it for later. Your teacher can also set your course to not to be available for viewing or access past a certain date or at the end of the course. Check with your instructor.

    Hi Ashlee, I exported but couldn’t open it. I tried to use Adobe but could not open it😓

    • @VirtualTeachingPro
      @VirtualTeachingPro  3 года назад

      The file can only be opened once you import it back into an actual Canvas course. Check out the video for a step by step walk through of how to do that: ruclips.net/video/XZXAmap83Ow/видео.html
