Beware Buying New Parts! Is it really a stock replacement?

Ordered a new Pontiac Harmonic Balancer and the stock bolts didn't fit. I read the negative reviews, reached out to the manufacturer and even they didn't know stock wouldn't fit. So, read all the reviews and reach out to the company to learn all you can!

Hi, thanks for getting back to me. Yes, I caught in the other video you were having problems. So I was anticipating having to change the bolts to an M8 x 1.25. Always something. Interesting that Dorman didn't know. Hopefully they will get it corrected for future runs - Or include 4 metric bolts with the Balancer! That would be a novel idea!! Like your videos. Keep posting!!

I always buy my hermonic balancer from Butler performance never had an issue. Thank you for sharing this for people to know. My opinion is if you go into do anything to a pony at motor go to butler performance.

Yeah, Luis, I agree about Butler. Almost everything on this engine refresh has come from them. But I went cheaper on the balancer. Saved $30 and then spent $5 more on the bolts! Plus time and gas. Lesson learned.

Hey Tim,
Just ran into this with my new water pump from Butler (FLowKooler 1622)
Ordered bolts from NPD (4), and they dont fit new pump for pulley (cant find original bolts)
Waiting for Butler/NPD to verify threads......

Flow Kooler bolts are 5/16-24 Fine Thread (5/8)
