I’m totally with you on the subgrades, but they’ve failed in too many other areas Even their slabs - while I like the look of them, they don’t have nearly the same level of security measures to prevent fakes that PSA has, and the label can become crooked in the slab
@simon466cards beckett cases are way more superior to psa cases. Beckett cases rarely have flaws and the card is extremely secure. I would say over 50% of my psa slabs the card is loose and moving in the case. That's disturbing seeing as though the case is suppose to be protecting it. Psa said they will change this major flaw but have yet to do so. I'd rather a rarely crooked label than a common loose card any day. What you said about hgs cases was miniscule compared to what flaws psa cases have. With that being said I like grading with psa for their customer support and easy 10s. They give out 10s like hotcakes and it's good for business.
Damn didn’t realize Beckett was in Plano. Learned about the benefits of spatial agglomeration in business school, but this is a death blow… wbanyama vs a 1st grader. Why buy them out when they can naturally absorb the employees.. gain competitor knowledge… and buy the company scraps when they are in blockbuster status. PSA is a cold cold company
@@simon466cardsI think it would be to steal drop off customers for sure. They don’t need to be Plano to continue dominance otherwise. My guess is Beckett has a hard core high priced faithful set of folks that if they left for PSA - really wipes Beckett
Ha, I also immediately thought of Beckett when hearing that news.
that sucks. i honestly really like beckett. i think their slabs look really nice and i like subgrades. i know the hobby has turned on them but damn

At the National in Toronto, BGS is doing on site grading for $95 no upcharge where PSA does so that may help them if they keep that policy.
BGS never had upcharges though, no?
@@simon466cards I'm not sure. I thought it was standard with all card graders. I've never graded a card because I don't trust the system.
Interesting. Good video
@@JunkWaxHero Appreciate that!
@@simon466cards I cited it in my newsletter tomorrow
@@JunkWaxHero thanks for the shout out in your newsletter. I accidentally deleted your comment when I went to reply to it. D’oh! 🤦
@@simon466cards ha no worries. I’ve done it too 😂

It’s both savage and brilliant.
What's more likely? BGS disappearing for good or getting bought out and surviving?
Bought out and surviving
What would the purpose be?
To take their remaining customers and remove the competitor with the biggest name recognition in the space
