Totally agree with Castle & Moat analogy. Leaving the scraps, 8% for the others to fight over. Doesn't mean they can't or won't survive, just means Fanatics won't be a factor when it comes to grading the cards their producing.
CGC has seen a pretty big uptick in sports cards since their relationship with Fanatics started. 27.2K in the last three weeks. I think they will continue to catch up to SGC in the sports card segment. CGC is also putting a ton of cards into CGC authentic Card Savers with their $3 authentication label for Fanatics. Kind of silly, but CGC is making good money off of that relationship.
Well said! I never understood those ‘takes’ at the time yelling about killing off the SGC brand. Made no sense and still doesn’t
Thanks Dustin!
Why kill your opponent when you can absorb them and get stronger?

Agree, the other reason was Fanatics was trying to buy and they didn’t want to compete, I’m glad they bought it over Fanatics.
😊👍
It makes sense. So, if Beckett collapses than one company owns a whole industry's market share practically. Is that a good thing?
Beckett already collapsed. CGC is now grading almost twice the sports cards on a weekly basis than BGS.
@@cardboardandplastic Officially? market share wise, when or if beckett collapses, CGCs market share relative to Collectors would be trivial

Interesting. Where did you get that data from?
don’t care. still a beckett guy (kidding. but i do love them)
Don't grade your cards. It's all a scam.
