Molokai belongs to Molokai! Make it a county or whatever is best for peace and freedom for the island. I am australian and was so moved by Molokai when visiting last year. I am always sending Blessings to Molokai - it is in my heart : ) xo

I was born and raised on Oahu. Molokai? the worst investment and only island that never went up in desirablity, and value.

I can't wait to move to Molokai. To embrace the way the people of Molokai live and be a part of that. The commoditization of Hawaii in general and of Molokai specifically is anathema to the aloha spirit. Billionaires and multi national conglomerates have the entire nation to spoil. People have been here for thousands of years farming and fishing the land and sea. The aina is still here and still deserves respect. To claim the land and keep from the people who make this place home is arrogant and dangerous. Land doesn't need to make someone money to be valuable, the land unspoiled and available to everyone is the real treasure. Mahalo nui loa and aloha to the defenders of Molokai, my body may not be with you but my heart always is.

I first lived in the Hawaiian Islands in the mid-1950's when my dad was in the Navy. We again lived on Oahu from 1959 to 1961. I had not gone back to Hawaii until the mid-1970's. After my late wife passed away in 2010 and I got remarried, my new wife and I went to Molokai. It was the first time either of us had been to Molokai. In March 2017 we purchased a condo on the west end of the island. Less than two years later, we knew we wanted to live on Molokai full time. Molokai truly is, at least to my wife and I, "the most Hawaiian of the Hawaiian Islands." As beautiful as Molokai is, what makes Molokai (and the rest of the Hawaiian Islands so special) are the People of Hawaii. I'll be 71 in March. While I was born in Pennsylvania, I've considered myself a Hawaiian most of my life. Pretty soon, probably before the end of March of this year, my wife and I will be moving into a house we are buying on Molokai. Some development would economically help the people of Molokai. But how much development would be in the best interest of Molokai and future generations of the people who live there? Aloha & Mahalo to all of the Hawaiian People!

That is a conversation worth having. Sadly the loud uninformed who don't want to have any such debate usually win.

This land surrounding was sold to Lousiana land co. Kaluakoi in the 70s. The issue on the West side AS YOU KNOW is lack of water

I love Molokai, the people there showed me great courtesy when I visited. It'd be awesome to be their own county and don't let the military buy it, there's enough unexploded things left over from ww2 and all they'll do is bring more traffic and try and marry all the women. Just look at every town outside an army base

Leave Molokai, Molokai. It’s such a wonderful change of pace compared to Oahu. Dont be stupid and ruin the last bastion of Hawaii.

Leave Molokai alone. It is Hawaiis most sacred island. Molokai belongs to its people not to anyone else. It is the purest Hawaiian island left.

Molokai Ranch should be taken by the State of Hawaii and given to the Hawaiian people. No money, the land should be returned to the people. Hell, the whole State should be GIVEN! To the real Hawaiians.

So they want someone to spend $260M for it and yet be told what to do with it? Good luck with that. That said, I hope that whatever happens is something in alignment with the health of the local people and the preservation of the ancient lands.

Land should be used by Hawaiians for Hawaiians as a place for generations to come. It’s their land after all. We don’t call any other name than that of what is and it’s people are, Hawaiian.
