    Another handy video, thank you Lily ….I still like water based for my double sided page books (learning to use a very light touch!), and alcohol for single sided. I guess it all just comes down to personal preference after experimenting 👍

    And….there is also Staedtler Marsgraphic Duo watercolor pens (Markers) whatever. These are the ones I have ( 36 set believe) They also feel cheap with a dark grey barrel. I put them with the other art supplies I let the grandkids use. ( you don’t need them). 🤣. I will stick to my Tombows, Ecoline, and Lyras. I don’t have full sets of these and probably never will. Faber Castel Pitt pens are really nice too. Thanks for your videos. I really enjoy them 💖🐞🇨🇦

    I am an alcohol marker fanatic, but I bought the 3200 120pcs second hand unused for 20 euro a month or so ago, because I wanted to use them for 3x3mm color by number books in the cross-stitch method. They turned out to be great for it and amazingly cheap for it, but my gosh, it took me DAYS to get the order correctly XD
    Many people find them scratchy on the fine liner side, but for my use-case they are pretty good. If I am planning on hanging or gifting the finished result, I will just use some fixation spray to make them waterproof and light-fast

    The main difference between permanent and watercolour version is that the watercolour version does not have: pale pink, ice blue, cream and light grey. Watercolour version does not have such bright colors. It also does not have neon colours.

    • @ArtJourneyUK
      @ArtJourneyUK  8 месяцев назад

      I'd say the main difference is that the Permanent Pens are alcohol based and Permanent, whereas the Watercolour version are waterbased and not Permanent.

      I prefer alcohol based markers as they don't streak as much, and the paper doesn't get degraded (and made soggy!) by the waterbased ink. However... alcohol markers bleedthrough the paper (and onto the next page), so they're only any good in single-sided colouring books.

      I do not understand the permanent thing though. There is nothing permanent about alcohol based pens. Faber-Castell pitt (waterbased) is the only one that can be called permanent. To me the word means permanent in the state it is when you create it. And this pens drawing will fade and not keep the same color.

    • @ArtJourneyUK
      @ArtJourneyUK  8 месяцев назад

      Permanent as in not dissolvable by water. The term Permanent is used to describe inks not dissolvable by water, as in this case... and in the case of other alcohol pens such as Sharpies.

    Can you tell me what labels you used for the pens. They seem to stick quite well. I bought some that don't and had to tape them with a round of clear scotch tape, lol. I got stickers that went to 200 because I bought the 120 set. I too swatched them myself, but caps are NOTHING like the colors and it was a half-a---ed job at best 🙂

    • @ArtJourneyUK
      @ArtJourneyUK  Год назад

      Hi Jason 👋🏻 I used these number labels amzn.to/3gdCHDV They stuck ok, not brilliant but they’re still on even without taping. One occasionally comes off when I remove a pen from the case. Yes, the caps are definitely not representative of the ink colours!

    what if you want to use pes and pencils on colouring books? alcohol based markers bleed too much in books... in that case the waterbased brush pens are better, no?

    • @ArtJourneyUK

    Hi! Wonderful and really helpful video! Could you please tell me the difference between the water based double ended markers and the triplus line? I want to buy a pack of the triplus fineliners but also want to have a pack of markers with a wider tip but don’t know which one to go. Thank u so much in advance 🙏🏽

    • @ArtJourneyUK
      @ArtJourneyUK  2 года назад

      Ooo good question! The pens in this video don’t have colour numbers or names like the Triplus do (which can be bought separately if you run out of one colour) and, to me, they seem to be a bit cheaper quality than the Triplus range (kinda like student grade). I bought both the Triplus Fineliner and the matching Triplus Color pens, because they come in the same colour range but have a wider tip. I made a video about it here:-

    I may have posted a comment about their colour charts :D It’s usually a chart that sits next to the product specs. Not downloadable as far as I know, but if you hover your mouse over each colour, you’ll get the colour name. Would be nice if they did it for all their products, though.

    • @ArtJourneyUK

      Ah I never got a chance to read the comment about colour charts Leonne before it disappeared never to be seen again! Maybe the European website is different but there’s definitely no colour names for the 3001s, 3187s and 3200s on the UK website, not even any little squares to hover over!
