In Illinois deep dish is for the tourists while locals choose tavern style but the true gem is Italian beef
Yep
All of these types of channels, for some reason, think deep dish is the only pizza. Only a few make them ,in Chicago. Give me a Italian beef and or beef and sausage
That Chili from Springfield, Illinois should be their staple!! Love The Chili Parlor!!
As a texas person. I can tell that the brisket taste so delicious when its in a grill with some sasauges, poppers, and even tacos.
It may be NY pizza in the Big Apple, but upstate, it's red hots and white hots (sausages/hot dogs), as well as Buffalo wings.
Look at all of this great food in this country.
Amazing food
The new mexico one is completely, absolutely, totally wrong. I've lived here my entire life, and if I were to have to choose our most iconic food, it would be Green Chile Cheeseburgers.
🍔
Loved here your whole life? But spelled it chili not chile? Gonna call you a fraud. And Frito pie is definitely iconic here
🙄
@@justhereforthecookies8129guess you’ve never made a typo before. because you’re oh, so perfect
@@danir6695 Yeah, it was a typo. I'm not the most accurate when typing on a phone keyboard. But they mispelled "Lived". I guess they were in a hurry to try and tear me down.
41 years in Virginia and I have never heard of saw or known anyone who ate peanut soup
The Idaho one is so iconic that as an Idaho resident I had to look it up lol.
@Grog's Groggy Games Sometimes, we find the most iconic things right in our backyard. It's a delightful feeling to learn something new about your own state!😁
If I had not moved to north Alabama a couple decades ago, I would never have known of White Sauce BBQ... everything where I lived in the west-central part of the state was Memphis or St. Louis based.
@Haystack Have you discovered any other regional specialties since moving to North Alabama?😁
Can you do a different version with the most popular drinks, most popular dog, or the favorite snack in every state, something close to this/these please🤞?
Maybe
If you aren't living in north Alabama, you probably have _no idea_ what white sauce BBQ even is. I spent 30+ years of my life in this state before I even heard of Big Bob Gibson and his vinegar-and-mayo-based atrocity -- as some might say. I'm actually fine with it. It's a nice change from Memphis and St. Louis style BBQ, the other two most common here.
Also going to rep the Eastern Shore of Maryland here -- where I was born! We love chicken & slippery dumplings just as much as our northern neighbors do! But... I have lived most of my life in the Deep South, so I'm also a lover of the heavier biscuit-style dumplings you'll get down here. They're both fabulous to me, same as I love yeast and cake donuts equally. Gimme Krispy Kreme or gimme Dunkin' and I will be happy either way, even if my pancreas will not be.
Oh, yes, _Callinectes sapidus_ (the "beautiful, savory swimmer") is indeed the culinary love of Marylanders, especially those of us from the Delmarva Peninsula and Chesapeake Bay region. The "tantalizing spice blend" is _Old Bay,_ by the way.
Thx for the info
Excellent and interesting video, loved it👍👏💛🍕🍞🍔
@Jane Doe We're all smiles reading your comments! Your support and love for the video mean a lot to us. 👍👏💛
I was born in Michigan and am very familiar with pasties. Now I live in Ohio and completely agree about their love for chili. 🌶
I love that you incorporated Klaus Mikaelson in this lol
Texan here 😃
We also have theater pickles and lemon/lime salt. I was born and raised in Texas. When I first moved out of state, it was a culture shock for there to not be theater pickles and lemon/lime salt. Any time I go back to my home state, I gotta have theater pickles and lemon/lime salt 😅
Babbletop can you do a 59 Best Celebrity Visits To Legendary Fast Food Restaurants.
@Professor Dreamer Thank you for the recommendation! Creating a video about celebrity visits to legendary fast food restaurants sounds like a fascinating and entertaining idea.keep sending more ideas bro really appreciated!💯
As a South Dakotan just miles from the Minnesota border, I would call that "hotdish" Tater Tot Casserole. Also, SD only has lefse in the fall. I old suggest chislic with garlic salt or ranch dressing for SD.
The Frito pie is definitely very much a NM thing. But to clarify it is NM red chile with beef and beans and cheese. Not some Hormel chili in a can.
Interesting
As a Montana man my entire life I can vouch that the Huckleberry is the states food. From pastries to cakes and pies and of course some of us eats them by the handful like popcorn. Tart but sweet like most raw berries but after turning them into jams and sweets they are very tasty
You eat it a lot?
@@BabbleTop Well not a lot but occasionally when I feel like it. At the restaurant I worked at we have a special dessert of Huckleberry Bread pudding.
@Kole Larson Treating yourself to Huckleberry Bread pudding occasionally is a well-deserved indulgence. It's the perfect way to satisfy your sweet cravings!🤟🏻😉
Being from Michigan I've never had or heard a pasty or w.e looked good
Me neither but I love a good Coney dog or a Detroit pizza
I live in Washington, and I can confirm that salmon is pretty popular there. The smoked salmon there is also really good. Salmon is also an important part of the culture of many of the native tribes there too, and often refer to themselves as "Salmon People."
Michigan should be Coney Dogs
Texas……brisket, chili, TexMex, kolaches,…..so many options.
Noted!
Definitely kolaches! Yum! Jalapeño my fav 😋
The pork tenderloin sandwich is thin and crispy the size of a dinner plate topped with mustard onions and pickles only
New Jersey is a Pork Roll/Taylor Ham, Egg, and Cheese sandwich. Disco Fries are a diner staple everywhere no matter where the origin is,
I was born and raised in Virginia and i have never seen or heard of anyone talk about peanut soup. Id anything virginias food is ham
Having lived in Colorado for more than 50 years, while lamb is somewhat popular, I have NEVER seen lamb fondue... In fact, fondue restaurants are few and far between.
I would disagree with Arkansas, yes we invented fried pickles but cheese dip is also from Arkansas.
What would be the one Chicago btw, as it is kinda missing ? Cheers
I’ve lived in Michigan my whole life (40 years) and have NEVER heard of a pasty. I don’t think that would make it iconic at all lol. Michigan should have been the coney dog
🌭🌭
North Dakotan for over 30 years and I’ve never even heard of that food, my best friend who has lived here 20 years hasn’t either 😂 sooooo confused
i love chimmychangas🌮🍕pizza and🥧key lime pie
@The origin of shimmer Your love for chimichangas, pizza, and key lime pie is a testament to your adventurous palate. It's a delicious world you're exploring! 🌮🍕🥧
I'm from Minnesota hot dish delicious... Yummy
@Christina The flavors of hot dish in Minnesota are undeniably delicious!
Babbles!!! 🥳🥳✨✨✨
@yunjinscomet Wazzup have a great day ahead!~❤️
@@BabbleTop I will!! 💙💙
Im from South Carolina and I have never heard of She Crab Souo
Soup
The pickles are cool but honestly, Arkansas is about the bbq/smoke specifically the hog 🤤. Pork to Arkansas is like beef to Texas lbs.
50 years in Virginia and i have never seen peanut soup in any restaurant, anyones home, on any menu, nor words of it coming out of anyone's mouth. Let me guess, you went to 1 restaurant in Williamsburg that had it, (probably the only one in the entire state), and all of a sudden its iconic. From your answers of other states it appears you put little to zero effort into this list.
I’m hungry now
Coffee Milk is the best ❤
nice
@Nick90 Coffee Milk is a delightful classic, and it's heartwarming to see your love for it. ❤💯
You're wrong about Missouri we are all about the BBQ. Hell it's a battle between west (Kansas City) and East (St Louis) on who has the best BBQ. As far as the ravioli goes mainly see that at bars or city festivals or fairs. Not trying to be rude but from Missouri, born and raised. Btw Kansas City has the best BBQ ever.
Noted
I born raised in missouri and never had toasted ravoli. 😢
@vandavis000 Born and raised in Missouri, and no toasted ravioli? Time to fix that!😁
I live in California but don't like avocados.
Why?
@@BabbleTop Just never liked the taste of avocados.
@CircuittCyberfang Avocados tried to join the party, but your taste buds said, 'Sorry, this is a guac-free zone!😁😂
Hot brown isn't an iconic food in Ky. I've lived in Ky all my life and didn't even know it existed until i was in my 40's. Just because it's in one city don't mean it's ate throughout the state. I've never even been to Louisville.
I live in Florida, and Ne-VAD-uh is pronounced wrong
If you think NH ("Especially around Manchester") is known for poutine, then you've done zero research. What a joke.
-guy from NH
I’ve been in Nebraska for 20 years of my life n never once ate at runza
👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
@germanywho Thanks for always support!🤟🏻
U welcome babble ✌🏾
Most of these were right, but not Colorado.
I lived there from 1984-2008, and never heard any hype surrounding lamb or saw it on many menus.
@Jeremy Beyer 🏔️ Really? No lamb hype in Colorado during your stay? That's a culinary surprise! 🍽️🤷
@@BabbleTop 24 years there, on both sides of the mountain, never saw any hype for lamb.
Try walleye not tater tots
Try wild rice
New York pizza best in the world 14:02
@Christina Many people swear by New York pizza, and it's definitely a favorite for pizza enthusiasts. 🍕🗽
Pizza is the best in New York
@Payton Craven "I agree with you! White sauce BBQ is a special treat for those unacquainted with it, and it's a welcome departure from the more prevalent BBQ styles.
Once you try the real pizza of Chicago ( tavern style not deep dish) you might need to rethink that. With its fresh tomato sauce and zesty sausage on a cracker thin crust cut into little squares
It looks like they got Wyoming and New Mexico mixed up. Navajo tacos with hatch valley green chiles are a staple all over New Mexico. Sorry but I think you failed on your research.
You sure?
Pretty sure. My wife is from New Mexico and we go to Albuquerque every year or so. I have never seen any hype for Frito Pies in New Mexico. However, every place will offer to "Christmas" your plate of food (green chile sauce and red chile sauce smothered) Just saying.
👍👍
3rd is the worst 😫 (talking about my comment not the list)
@spankykillmoves Better luck next time bro!😁⬆️
As usual, this channel is completely wrong. I have never heard of, nor heard of anyone who has ever heard of, peanut soup. It does not exist, and sure as hell is not a iconic food in the Commonwealth of Virginia. All babble top had to do is actually ask a Virginia to know that Brunswick Stew and Virginia Ham are out staples. That's all.
Nope. Nope. Nope. Ohio chili is NOT chili. Go to Texas.
For real?
@@BabbleTop We Texans are very particular about our chili…LOL
Texas is chile con carne a tex mex stew while the Midwest chili is based on a stew from Hungary made popular by German immigrants. I love both
Minnesota food sucks
