    Today we'll have a through look at the latest Evolving weapon, The Felarx.
    It Normal Form it's an automatic shotgun with good base stats and a Strun Style Shell by Shell Reload mechanic. In Incarnon Form its AK Pistols that fire a projectile. Currently it's the first evolving weapon that has a more powerful normal form than it's Incarnon form and we will maximize that.
    In addition to the showcased raw damage approach you can also go with the classic Hunter Munitions Viral and try to leverage Rupture Plentitude's Ammo Efficiently with some Fire rate and punch through. The level three evolution Dual Chamber can help with that or you can go for the fire rate that Mounting Momentum provides and mod for Punch Through. This general approach to the build was a bit underwhelming in testing so my recommendation goes for the Raw Damage build. If you don't like the reload mechanic of the weapon than Slash Viral with Rupture Plentitude will be the way to go however. If not Devastation Attrition is the way to go.

    When I heard "Shotgun that turns into dual pistols" my mind went to Pyrana Prime. I didn't expect the gun to get SLOWER when it splits into pistols.

    Finally, something I wished the Corinth Prime was in terms of reload animation

      @@theunhingedgamer3762 Some loved it, others hated with passion. I'm actually one of those who prefer Corinth in shell by shell reload. A way to swap between those two options would allow both sides to be satisfied as long it wouldn't waste mod slot but... chances that DE will ever do something like this is small.

      @@jjcameron0096 They never will though, since ultimately reload speed increases your dps. The idea of exilus mods is only some QoL improvements.

Honestly I was never into AoE much, i used Latron since the day I got it but nowdays i simply cannot take it to missions and enjoy it outside missions where I have no need to actually kill stuff.
      The reload speed with this magazine size and is just to painful to bear. Conclave mod also doesn't help much due to this factor. Since who cares if I can theoretically oneshot so many things if almost any fast firing weapon will kill more enemies in same amount of time just due to fact it doesn't spend to much time reloading? Other weapons have different but often similar issues.
      Funny thought, AoE is meta due to how many enemies we have to kill. In some cases game swarms with so much mob that AoE is not the only way to go... but the less frustrating one and often the fastest. Not sure what is your stance on it by I'm not one for nerfing the AoE. I rather allow all to enjoy their favorite weapons as they want. After all if one hates it the one can go solo or with friends/clan instead of public. I'm however for DE to take a more than 5 minutes of thinking about were the hell they are going.
      Since I returned shortly before the Update of Angels, and finished new war i have feelings like not only the Covidi interrupted them much, and ruined lot of initial plans... but also that they are making as much as they can on fly and connect it with duct tape just to release it fast. Maybe it's just me, but all the stuff introduced within last 3 years... disconnected? Lacking some final direction? Sorry, I'm bit tired and can't find better wording for it.
      Anyway... It's just theory that appeared due to my experiences with Angels update but I'm bit afraid if they keep moving into this direction soon we will have need for entirely new damage system and TOTAL rework of enemies, armor and other things... which would have to be an massive balance update and uh... I do not feel like we can Trust them that they won't screw it as their mass rebalances were not exactly the most succesfull things done. Just like the idea of keeping the Arson Eximus AoE skill affecting you UNDER and ABOVE the wave of it while removing the indication of it which was present in past. (And don't get me started on how you can walk into it due to how it's color fades or this screen gliching from Magnetic status effect)

    Not sure if it's a bug, but the reload to fire rate buff with Mirage counted for each of the clones. Each shell reloaded was giving +50% fire rate buff which is why it turned into an absolute machine gun.
    Given the mag size of 13 and a x5 multi, that gives +650% fire rate. Base fire rate of 3 now becomes 22.5. Previous record holder for auto-shotgun: Boar @ 4.67

    You can increase the fire rate of the double pistol mode if you reload your shotgun before changing into the pistol mode. the fire rate buff from reloading works on the dual pistols

    I've tried doing weird stuff like cramming more reload and magazine size to maximize mounting momentum, but even that has only made the shotgun half better. The only use case for the Incarnon form seems to be a safety net for if you somehow run out of ammo in a shotgun only sortie.

    I'd love to see a revisit of this weapon at some point in the future. The incarnon form received a buff of increased projectile size and some punch though. As of now the incarnon form feels similar to the Arca Plasmor.

    Instead of Ammo Stock and Cleanse Corrupted I used Blaze and Vigilante Armaments. If you have a pet that can apply status as well, it's pretty good

    Yh I agree I thought by the picture it was gonna be two laetums but a little bit less powerful. They should either double the damage and keep it sluggish or make it so we can fire faster. Also got the weapon yesterday and Yh there are some perks that need to be changed cause there’s only one choice at the end so that makes the whole evolution path made around that one choice at least with the other weapons there are multiple options but Yh need some love but love the primary fire and don’t mind the shell by shell reload 😁

    No to sure why I bother to watch anyone else' videos! Thank you for actually doing your research and walking through step by step on these videos. The only thing I can think of for the incarnate form is maybe its better when facing an eximus, demolist, acolyte, Thrax, Angel, Lych, Sister, or shields ?? Maybe something there works out with it? or its bugged like everything else lol

    Or you can keep scattering inferno and choose the 50% reload per second while holstered evolution
    Now you can reload the whole thing in 2 seconds which is faster than base and certainly faster than the 6.5 second reload you get with high magazine size

    Actually, for the reload you can choose the Evolved Autoloader third evolution and just switch to a primer/melee for 2 secs and you got yourself a full mag instead of actually putting the bullet one by one

    With how low the accuracy is on the regular weapon, I was kinda hoping the Incarnon form would be some rocket/grenade launcher for crowd control, considering the endgame requires us to fight mobs.. And if we didn't have to slap on reload mods just to make it usable, this would've been a great weapon as a primary in it's non-Incarnon mode.

    I'm honestly fine with the pistol form having less damage. They should remove the AOE looking particle effect and give it a fire rate of something like the Aklex Prime.
    Have the primary be the strong more effective damage at the cost of range while the secondary is moderate damage but longer precise range

    Since my Duality clone doesn't seem to ever use incarnon forms, this is one I gotta try out...
    I was surprised to see they work with bows now, the Nataruk hits pretty hard with Duality's total dmg multiplier and has infinite ammo. Cedo is also very fun if you shoot the disc and use a glaive, for example, then they're the only one using up ammo. Just summon as you're about to shoot the disc and they'll come out with the Cedo

    reloading when holstered is very underated. Doing a melee attack which switches you to your melee counts as a holster and its instant, which makes it a very good alternative to reloading especially at 50%/sec.

      I run the reload when holstered exilus mod on the Quellor because with such a large magazine it reloads a significant amount of ammo per second

    Why Shell Shock and not the Primed Charged Shell?
    Is more status that important, even with Galvanized Savvy?
    Or is it so that Corrosive would not become too high, so that other status types would not be added on the enemy?

    I love this! I haven't found any new powerhouse weapons in a long time. I personally don't like the incarnate thing, slowing down to get headshots is not for me, at least with my builds. I might try to farm this one, thanks!

    The incarnon form's slow fire rate is easily fixable with the Mounting Momentum buff
    Stack the fire rate buff by reloading from 0 and then switch to incarnon form since the buff carries on to the incarnon form

    I was hoping that the Felarx was gonna be a crit-cannon as a shotgun and a crit-hose as dual-pistols... Maybe they wouldn't be as strong, with the current meta as is, but it'd be fun with pretty numbers.

    When i first made the weapon evolve into dual pistol I thought it was so cool, like in bo2 when you get the dual pistols that shoot explosive bullets

    DE really wanted to do something different here... To be fair, this is the closest to an evolving weapon since it turns into a completely different weapon type. It's just that the normal form is significantly better than its incarnon form.

    When I first got this one, I was a little disappointed. Automatic, but only 6 shells mag cap. Then I paired evolved autoloader with 3-shot bursts in tandem with a vastilok. Never reload again. Fun fact: felarx and vastilok seem to use the exact same firing sound.

    My biggest with this things Incarnon Mode is _the constant staggering every time it hits a fucking enemy..._
    Like that just kills this weapon aside from the lack of AoE.

    Quick question; you used both Primed Point Blank and Galvanized Savvy, from what I know, those are the same base damage modifiers, and PPB would be a dead slot after you get your Galvanized Stacks. Why do you mod with both?

    I found out when you fully reload the shot then you just press fire (like with a rifle) it fires all the magazine at once. Idk if it’s a bug tho

    It seems like they wanted the incarnate form to show demonstrate single shot with multiple pellets to a single shot that hits multiple targets, but without use of an AOE.

    It's... Kinda weird that these weapons get so many ammo efficiency and reload mods, but their main gimmick is completely unaffected by them.

    Been using this with the new Fractalized Reset Arcane(240% reload at max rank). It got enough damage by itself, so why not?

    My favorite weapon shotgun mode, OP straight up damage, with a little bit of heat incarnate form is ass haha I pair it with wisp prime. Amazing!

    I feel like this weapon could be great if a lot of it's issues were fixed. The only things I dislike about shotgun form is that the shell reload animation is much longer then it actually should be. if I reload one shell, it does the animation 3 times with tac pump and chill reload. 6 round mag with base 3 rof means you dump the mag faster then it reloads, even with tac pump. The other issue is it's pellet spread is way to high IMO. Headshots can be inconsistent and mainly fail due to pellet hit registration at anything more then a 7-10 meters. The dual pistols I feared would be bad I was right. You trade off slash and puncture damage for radiation and impact, less damage, and HALF THE FIRE RATE, all for... .5m of punchthrough and 1x more crit damage.
    So if I were to fix this, I'd give the pistols 1.5m base of punch through, either (1. keep their damage and give them more rof 1.5 -> 6 base or 2. triple their damage and keep their rof), and give them a 2-3m aoe.
    Shot gun I'd tighten the spread a bit, double the base magazine to 12, fix the reload animation and speed to accurately reflect reload time (personally I'd just scrap shell reloading. It's the cheapest and easiest way to do this), and increase the fall off range from 100% damage at 14 -> 24m and make the 20% damage at 28m ->40% at 36m
    This gun has a lot of potential, but a lot of jank and just bad design that fights against it. The inconsistency of the balance team needs to get reigned in, as compared to laetem and phenmore, this weapon has a lot going against it. When compared to the cedo, cedo has better rof, better accuracy, better damage, and can apply statuses to help cc, as well as better ammo. Tennet plasmor has much higher damage and can easily clear crowds while having a similar magazine and heafty reload time. The kuva hek has absurd damage and extremely tight pellet spread, justifying it's tiny magazine and reload. Punch through helps Felarx clear things out a bit but it's inconsistent from evolution perks (swapping between 4 punch through and 100% projectile speed every reload). Even then you're spending just as much if not more time reloading then you are shooting which heavily hurts it's effective KPM. I feel with these changes it will make incarnon pistols quite good and help clear up the clunk of the shot gun mode, while giving users more control over when to proc their buffs, and more consistency when doing so.

      I was extremely excited for this weapon since it’s concept art and they really just dropped the ball one thing I thought it would have would be amount of pellets that hit to charge incarnon but no they did headshots on a weapon with a huge bullet spread and I was hoping that the incarnon form would be some sort of cannon like a mini zarr. So Yh completely agree with your incarnon changes. Make it hit hard for slow fire rate or let us fire way way faster cause incarnon just isn’t worth it for the shotgun. so upset about this was most excited for the shotgun when they first showed all the incarnon weapons and it’s just rubbish. Also the dagger is atrocious most of the evolutions are based on finishers and the ones that aren’t are rubbish too. Please give some buffs and changes DE 😔

      If they went with the double base magazine, I would suggest they make the reload add two shells per reload chunk instead of just one (otherwise primed Ammo Stock would tap into why DE gave Corinth Prime a normal reload, with 24 separate reloads to get through). They'd also have to halve the Mounting Momentum Perk in order to retain the overall bonus it gives. Either way, it would be very nice to actually spend more time firing than reloading!

    I think it’s incarnon should have 2 evo options. One where it works more like actual dual pistols, (but with slightly higher damage) ie you can fire very fast but you actually have to go bang bang bang bang. Think jakobs pistol from borderlands. The other could be a much more “exciting” mode. I’m saying around 20x it’s current damage, and some decent aoe, but it takes up a huge visual portion of your bar per shot (1/5 - 1/4), and fires slower than DEs response to eximises. Think it’d be really cool to have a incarnon that has a good first form, and options for an actual better second form

      @@albertwesker295 lmao. Lately I've bee doing that with a kuva zarr, my game has crashed twice or thrice now since I started it last weak. I think my pc couldn't handle so fckin much particles, idk. But it is becomin tk cheesy for my taste. Also Semi-auto is not a great feeling... but this fully auto shotgun though 😏

      Also, I tested this shotgun just a little, and in this loadout the reloads felt awful :S, cause even with 4x ammo due to EM skill the magazine burns so fckin fast

      I've have a weapon that has less stress on the fingies. Try tenet envoy since its full auto and use arcane acceleration with it. However you might go blind lmao.

    The Incarnon form really ought to shoot like a shotgun too - in fact, having the exact same stats as the primary mode (just with a potentially much bigger magsize) would make it not only more useful, but also a lot more fun.

      I was thinking the incarnon mode could still be a shotgun but it shot powerful slugs instead. Same fire rate but hits harder than a truck. Then the pistols could've been their own weapons.

    This weapon was one of the biggest letdowns I've experienced in the game. I got it, I unlocked the second form, took it into a mission, charged it up, and then it was just miserable to use. It's slow, it's clunky, and it deals way less damage than the normal form, and the normal form isn't exactly a meta-shaking powerhouse either.

      @Death Inquisitor Shotguns aren't exactly meta right now to begin with. Now they have a bit of a niche (or at least the Felarx and the Kuva Hek does) due to being able to cheese the Archons' damage attenuation, but otherwise they just aren't really worth using. The damage falloff means you would have to use them at close range, at which point you're better off using melee (or if you want to be ironic, a gunblade), they don't have any AOE capability, they are too slow for single target damage, and due to the way pellet status procs work, they aren't even good status primers.
      Now, the joke is that there are actually shotguns that do all of the above really well, but it's all thanks to their own gimmicks, so they are good *despite* being shotguns, not because of it.
      Most importantly though, while the Felarx's normal mode is decent due to the incarnon gimmicks, it's transformed mode is still trash, so I stand by my original post.

      @Death Inquisitor The main issue is that shotguns are kind of incompatible with WFs core gameplay loop. For 99% of the game, you have one single objective: kill a lot of enemies as fast as possible. This applies to almost all game modes, because it's how you get your reward, be it in the form of resources, focus, rare drops, or a roll on a cracked relic at the end of the mission.
      Exterminate? Kill enemies fast to complete the mission.
      Survival? Kill enemies fast to get air.
      Defense? Kill enemies fast to get to the next wave to finish the mission fast.
      Interception? Kill enemies fast so that they can't take the defense points.
      Because of this, the meta way to play the game is to just nuke everything as fast as possible. It doesn't matter if you do it with a Bramma, a melee blender build, or a nuke frame, the end-goal is the same: kill things fast.
      Shotguns generally don't work well with this, and after the nerfs a few years back, they aren't very good at the remaining 1% of the game, namely boss-killing either, because they have to compete with stronger ST options. Of course, that doesn't mean they can't work, and the damage attenuation DE is experimenting with gave them a strong niche in very specific scenarios, but the problem with Warframe is that once you get into metagaming (usually when you grind some content you don't actually like just to get a weapon or component or whatever), it's very hard to stop, because something like a super-tank Inaros with a Bramma, Nukor, and gunblade works too well in too many places, and there's no incentive to switch things up.

    I suppose the ammo efficiency options would work to stack with the fire rate buff, and as the shotgun form is stronger, that's a good thing?
    Does the fire rate buff stack in incarnon mode? Does it even stick around in incarnon mode? (Build up the buff in regular form, then have better fire rate in pistol form?)

    i think you need a bigger bullet sponge for the new late game weapons. something like disruptors ? or straight up archons. a way for us to clearly see if this is better than hek.

    Aight, I did a bit of my own testing, and the primary fire does waaaayy more damage than what the stat screen suggests if you take Devastating Attrition. It seems each individual pellet has a chance to proc it, and multiple pellets proccing it exponentially bumps up the damage. Some shots, it performs about how I'd expect, and others it one shots whatever is in front of it before I've even stacked up Primary Merciless. Very rng based.

    The fire rate talent applies to the incarnon mode and makes it usable, mostly using incarnon because "cool looking dual pistol primary" and all that

    Mounting momentum is cool and all but I feel like I end up just wasting alot of ammo as I one shot most of the time and it gets harder to only shoot a single shot the higher fire rate you have... especially since I end up with a wisp in my group most of the time and can easily mag dump my whole mag in an instant which would be great for a boss but is a total waste of ammo on most enemies... def a cool ability tho.

    Why does it add an extra reload animation before it actually starts reloading? That feels awful, especially on a weapon with a single-round reload mechanic and a tiny magazine.

    On my gauss I have a duration build with energised rounds in the place of thermal sunder and it shreds enemies. Tho I haven't played Warframe in a while due to my PS4 slowing down and crashing. Need to get it fixed and wish I could enjoy these new incarnon weapons. Warframe affects my behaviour so maybe it's a good thing I stopped playing. Will enjoy these new weapons nwhen I leave home and have a full time job by the end of this year in November.

    This weapon is so cool looking and I love the way it plays but it genuinely seems unfinished.
    - The loudout stats do not match with what they should be with the evolutions
    - The rate at which your numerical 'magazine' reloads does not match the animation and speed.
    - For some reason, reloading ONE bullet has the animation reload three bullets despite only one case being ejected per shot. Also, the magazine number goes up when the last of the three rounds get put in (this REALLY got me)
    Killed the weapon for me after being so excited to max it out today.
    This was with me running the regular magazine capacity mod, merciless, gauss and it still felt clunky to reload
    Time to take another break from warframe!

    I have something to say the evolved form of it is meant to be a horde controlling device not a single target damage it’s meant to take out any sort of trash mob because when I use it with my build it annihilates things including in steel path all trash mobs fucking die by it well the normal form is able to deal with single targets pretty easy And why I switched the incarnation form which is basically the evolved form as I mentioned earlier it shreds all the trash mops and yes I’m not a stupid fool I do use the fifth form that increases the damaged by a 20 times multiplier on noncritical shots

    Shotguns have big damage but they also have drop off. Probably a good way to use this gun is to use the shotgun at close range and when the enemy is out of range of the shotgun just use the pistols?

      In the time it takes to switch to your incarnon mode, you can bullet jump across the map to stick the shotgun up the enemy's mouth and not have to worry about falloff.

    I dislike the headshot requirements for these weps cuz its so hard in actual gameplay
