This guide is aimed at new players looking to learn how Warframe works. Several topics will be tackled such as mechanics, modding, synergies, functionality, multipliers etc.
The goal is to teach newer players the aspects of weapon modding (and not only) that the game either doesn't explain or does a poor job at it.
To this effect we will go step by step in understanding how the weapon functions, what the stat screen sections mean, what effects do mods have, from physical, to elemental, to multipliers, etc. We will also be touching on where/how to farm key mods that are "meta" or necessary in a lot of builds.
You will learn the fundamentals in how to mod any weapon. Not just the Hek, as the point is for you to understand how to make your own builds for any ranged weapon.
If a specific topic is to long to incorporate in this guide you will find direct links to those guides tackled separately.
As for the Hek, new player builds will be showcased as-well as an endgame setup that can take out high level Steel Path targets. While the Hek is capable of Steel Path it's not exactly the ideal endgame weapon. Where it shines is in early Mastery Ranks as it's a great weapon for starting players with a MR Lockout of only 5 and can be easily obtained from the market for 25.000 credits. To this, a tenno must take into account the materials needed to craft, the cost of a catalyst and a couple of forma. If possible, the Kuva Hek is a much more powerful weapon that can be obtained at lower mastery ranks but you will need to be carried through it. If you have friends that can help out, go for it. The modding principles outlined in this guide apply to it as-well as they apply to the vast majority of Warframe weapons.

I literally had the same experience getting into the game. Coming from Destiny I thought I would love this game but at first I was very confused and uncertain if I would stay. I actually quit and would come back every so often but one day I came back and something just clicked and not I’m hooked. I would still consider my self somewhat new and I like to take in a lot of information for new and old players.
Have you got to sp? The difficulty spike for me was huge, but if you ain't got there yet don't rush into it as soon as it's unlocked prep by getting a good companion i recommend nautilus and get 1 meta weapon of each kind a primer a decent melee and maybe acceltra prime, I rushed in with star chart gear and barey formad guns, after two weeks of chipping away and getting the stuff I found sp a lot easier, armor strip really helps at first i think frost with icy avalanche is a great choice for any new sp player
happened to me too I was like mr4 and 6 and quit came back month or 2 later and was hooked been playing on and off since 2017 and im around mr22 now
Same for me got on and then off for some time and got back on and was hooked. So far Warframe is going to be my most played game this year
@@user-ji3cj2co9l oh yeah, definitely a certain point I had to say to myself which frame am I going to try to do Star chart, and steel Path with. The choice I ended up coming down to was Zephyr and Mesa because those are probably my two favorite and from what I seen while playing they scaled pretty well, just had to learn about armor stripping and status effects but those came quickly.
The previous Hek guide is want got me hooked on Warframes modding system! Good to see a update for even newer players.

Primary Frostbite will probably go up in value next month when they change cold damage to fully freeze enemies. There will be more cold builds so... price increase, farm them now.
Farming them now have been since announced plus shivering mod. All ready using it and loving an entire room freezing to a stop almost.

Hello leyzar- as of we now can use "scatterd justice" on the kuva hek, do you think an updated guide may be possible? (Because I REALLY struggle with what mod to replace it with XD)

I know people ignore the stat but the sad thing is no guides exist anywhere to explain why it is or isn't worthless. I tested it and it does actually have viability in quite a few cases. I have run into that HCET problem with some rivens. It works well one one I have that adds both electric and toxic as I just get corrosive if in the higher priority slot and that weapon works well with corrosive but then I have one with heat and cold and I want viral and heat on that weapon but keep getting gass and cold unless I use a separate mod to add the cold before the riven is used.
You forgot to explain the Scattered Justice but overall W video.
Ah, damn it. I didn't forget; I recorded the full explanation, but it looks like I edited it out by mistake. Thankfully, now it's self-explained if you hover over the mod. Still, Tenno should know it's only usable on the standard version of the Hek.
