    At one point Ford of America was going to offer the 3 & 5 door ST’s. I have a 2014 with 49,000 miles on it, and I’m on my 4th set of Tires, that’s how much I love mine. It has intake & 3” Exhaust, Cobb rear motor mount, short shift kit, and many Visual mods. I was looking foreword to buying the new just for the interior upgrades and infotainment system. I’ll just keep mine forever as I’m 70 years old.

    Good review. One point though, the MK7 ST180 also has 197bhp. It uses an over boost every time you floor the throttle for up to 20 seconds. If you lift off and reapply the throttle you've got another 20 seconds of it.
    The MP215/ST200 works the same except they're 197bhp without over boost and 212bhp with.

    I am looking at getting this car in the 5 door version as I think it will be a little more practical for my needs

    Nice video man, I had the previous generation mk7 ST-2 then exchanged it for the mk7 ST-3 with the MP215 mountune upgrade, crazy power, I had to change back down to this generation mk8 ST-Line but hopefully within the next year I’ll be going for the ST-3 with the Limited slip differential. I wasn’t too sure when I first saw the rear end of this new ST but it’s grown on me now and I can’t wait to get one!

      Ashley Yelland I agree on the rear end bud!
      I took the new st for a test drive today and seeing the car in person I like the rear straight away.
      Fantastic car. Feels sharper and more fun to drive than the previous st.
      The seat I find hug you more but the attention to detail in the car with colour stitching is sweet!!

      lawnmowerman1271 ah nice man! I had so much fun with the last one, with the limited slip differential in this new one, I can’t wait! I was wondering about the new seats, the previous ones were alright but I’ve heard in some reviews that these ones cut off circulation lol

    I took the new st for a test drive today and seeing the car in person I like the looks of the new car straight away.
    Fantastic car. Feels sharper and more fun to drive than the previous st.
    The seat I find hugs your butt more but the attention to detail in the car with colour stitching and driving modes are sweet!!

      Sounds like a good day! Drive modes are useful. Gives the car a broader set of abilities. But I'm confident some people will really just love the old car, no matter what.

    Great video bro. Something specific for you: Your vocal pause and emphasis is spot on. Your sentences and combination of your editing timing is excellent. In the cabin, the right angle camera position of you could be different. A halo around your face wasn't the best and I suspect it was because of the glare and brightness behind your silhouette. You have a bright future in car reviews...sub button hit, notification button on. Well done.

    You mentioned suspension firmness, but did you say it has patented force vectoring springs and tenco RC1 damping, they are not active but do response to the road surface to self adjust..

    Worth mentioning that the previous ST, the MK7(.5) had a Sport mode. This isn't the first Fiesta ST to have drive modes. It is the first ST to have Track Mode, however.

    I don't know. The old one looked great and drove really well. The only real problems were the take it or leave it hard ride and the cheap, hard plastic interior. This one appears to have a better ride and higher quality interior, but to me I'm not sure that it looks special enough. It looks very plain, compared to the ST Line. Oh well, I guess that's progress....

      tommyboy62206 looks better in person especially in grey

    • @newmotoring
      @newmotoring  6 лет назад

      tommyboy62206 Old one was brilliant, and you're right, the ST Line looks quite similar, but my big issue before driving it was 'is a three cylinder engine going to be bad compared to the old four-pot'. Thankfully it isn't, and the ride is pretty good too. The three door car look better.

    Well what I do not like about this car that the less stressed wheel will be slightly in the air on curves, which is damn dangerous. Call me old timer, but it shouldn't be like that. I am thinking though to buy an engine & gearbox and other neccesarry mechanics from this car along with focus rs 2008 suspension and mount it to my actual focus which is slightly lighter than this fiesta. Curious if ford can do that for me, as it's my 4th car but there are none that interest me now on the market and lack of hp is a bit frustrating sometimes. I compensate a lot but I wont torture a car :P

      Suzuki’s are cheap and nasty and loose money so quickly I owned one from new for 2 years and when I asked Suzuki dealer to buy it back they offered £500 less than we buy any car! You have been warned

      @theresonly1truth138 6 лет назад

      graeme taylor thanks mate

    • @newmotoring
      @newmotoring  6 лет назад

      Honestly, the ST. The Swift is £1,000 cheaper, and it feels lighter, but it also feels cheaper, isn't as quick and isn't a full hot hatch. It's the issue we knew Suzuki would have as soon as they launched it: the higher price pushes it closer to more serious opposition. It's good to drive, but the ST is just more car. And if you bought one and paid for it monthly the difference is less than £20 a month...
