You need a tactrix for 2018 and Subaru edit but he is a genius about the actual tuning of the map I tried it for the hell of it and it friggin works pops and bangs !!😊

My car currently isn’t supported because Romraider doesn’t have definitions for my particular ECU. So I have to get someone to make them for me otherwise I can’t do anything. So my advice is to make sure you do some research first
So I have a 2008 Impreza 2.5i , and I bought that exact cable. It doesn't read for Romraider and Ecu flash. I've checked the versions and files for both applications and it's all correct. Also, what are those green cables under the steering column, what are you connecting into those?
great vid and info really helped. The only thing i see by doing that is actually damaging the engine. The values you set will cause pre ignition with the fuel and damage the piston and valves
The ignition is happening in the exhaust not the engine so it won’t damage anything in the engine also it’s happening when there’s no load on the engine so no worries

Cedric Djzak hey man, it has to be an 05+ ecu so if you get that and maybe a step down harness if they make them for Subaru’s that would work but the 04- ecus aren’t able to be flashed or read from, hope that helps out dude 👍🏻
i have this issue too. i have A4TJ1X00 3D04EA4605 this ecu which has already been tuned by my tuner before. I however, am trying to use the vag com cable to do my own tuning, but ecu flash is unable to connect to 'interface' (the vagcom cable)

Did you have to choose your vehicle definition? If so how because on ecuflash all I see is turbo models. Not sure if it’s necessary but I can’t get it to read and people are telling me that’s why. Also did you have the green plug connected or disconnected?
You have to download the def files from the ecuflash website I believe, then plug in the green plug, turn ignition on and click read ecu then save your stock rom then you can edit it but make sure you save it as a new rom like name it burblerom.bin or something so you can always go back to stock. Also make sure not to stop flashing or disconnect while it’s flashing or you’ll brick the ecu

Hi Damian, i've bought a similar cable to the one you have, but from another supplier as it wasn't available from ebay anymore, but the description was exactly the same. It came with a cable and a small cd with an app file exe and drivers. i installed the program (vcds) and i tried to set it up in the options as an obd2 cable but nothing.. i couldn't even install the drivers, so needless to say it wasnt even detecting in ecu flash so i could read my stock ecu and upload to romraider.. any ideas? thanks, this is really getting frustrating and i definitly dont want to go to a tuner to get pops and bangs on my hatch 2.5i

I paid the extra money to have a launch control patch put onto my map. But anyway with the fp blue being towards big unlike my old vf34 turbo, normal fuel cut launch control isnt spooling enough to launch. My question is, do you know of way to do a ignition cut LC on Romraider and Ecuflash to make it seem like the Taliban is coming out of my car's fart can so it makes more stationary boost pressure? 2009 Legacy's and all other Subaru's from 2007 onwards use CAN BUS ECUs so tuning via this cable aint possible no more

2009 is CAN BUS which can't be tuned, at least not VIA a serial interface, which is what the cable uses

Pops are bad for exhaust valves. Dont do this.
Fire is bad just popping without fire coming out not so bad
