One tip I'd like to share - that helped me a lot last season with my 'take rate' - was spin stops / pausing the lure.
Great video and lovely fish 🎣

Well done mate and glad you returned them👍Nice to see Sea trout returning to this river estuary. A wee history lesson: The fishing for migratory species in this area was destroyed by sea lice and escapee Rainbow Trout & Salmon from Fish Farms in Loch Riddon and Kyles of Bute through 70's 80's and 90's. The Escapee Rainbow Trout entered the river and ate everything. Dunoon AC started a program of restocking. It looks as if their hard work is paying off. Not sure if you are allowed to fish for sea trout in the sea or estuary in February. Thought you needed a permit if you are targeting sea trout even in the sea?

Unfortunately the loch in question had a bad couple of years ,high water temps made lice problems for the smolts and finnok , I managed a good fish up the river last year and lost a salmon ,but very few small fish about Unfortunately.
The estuary used to be my favourite spot as a kid but I tend to give it a miss these days, the farmer has the rights from the fence post down and above that is a time share by Andrew barker.

I’ll give that a try 👌, I didn’t know in Northern Ireland you couldn’t keep one it’s not the fisherman that’s the problem it’s the boats out netting them and protecting the seals 🤦‍♂️

@@lastcastthistimelolanymeth7163 no mate it certainly isnt the rod and line anglers fault, i caught plenty over the years but i made sure i returned fish too, as you say netting and seals do damage plus untreated waste water over here and slurry in all the wee burns hasnt helped and ill not even go into cormorants and sea-lice, its a wonder theres any left here!
