Was trying to figure out how to make a scrolling background for only a certain section while trying to maintain a transparent background, and this just solved my problem. Thank you!
Thank you so much Devon! This tutorial is exactly what I need to continue with a project where I was stuck. I greatly appreciate it and am excited to learn more of Animate with your videos!
great talent for tutorials. I appreciate your rythm and posed style of explaining things. Also you propose plenty of alternatives to each specific topic you deal with for us. Thank you.
Hello sir. I have a little question. When I do my roughs in Adobe animate on one layer, and later on do the clean up on another layer, HOW DO I HIDE THE ROUGH LAYER??????????. Because wen I press the hide button ( the eye on the timeline ), it hides the roughs, yes. But wen I use the test function to test out my animation, the roughs still appears. Even wen I create the final MP4 video, the roughs still appears. So how do I hide the layer completely. Do I use the masks function???
@@Ostaaaa I finally got it a while back after a lot of research. Set the rough layer as a guide layer. Then it can turn off when you do your clean ups.
So, in fact, we have to convert the mask and the masked layer in graphic, it's not clear 'cause, the preview doesnt let us see that the masked layer is raw (sorry for bad english)
I like your video animate but what app did you animate? Cuz im just making anime laugh So i tell you what is app do you use from animate because everyone has a android or Apple cuz mine is Android
There is no way to reverse/flip/invert the mask! Lazy devs hope they read this and add the most basic of features that i cant beleive they dont have in this expensive piece of software!
So far, Adobe Animate is one of the worst softwares in the world… I know After Effects, I know Premiere, but this is is just garbage… Hopefully it makes sense soon, or they drop an atomic bomb on it and start over, because so far… It seems that there is no sense to how anything works in the software! How do you invert the mask? Why would anyone want to trace everything but the thing they to delete? That’s so backwards!!! Can you tell I’m frustrated? LOL
@@devonkong No no no… That’s not it. LOL I’m actually getting the hang of it, but it seems a little more quirky than AE. I made a T65 X-wing Starfighter!
@@Kinetic_Animations hey that's super cool! Totally agree btw that Adobe Animate has lots of room for improvement, especially wiht little things like inverting masks I'm glad you're getting the hang of it though! PS. I think my reply was meant to post on a different comment, it doesn't make any sense haha
I come back to this video every time I need to do a mask in Adobe Animate. Every time! I am glad it's here. Thank you.

Hello dear friend, thank you very much for your good training. I wanted to ask that you also teach hand and foot animation. Thanks again.❤️
Hi! What do you mean by hand and foot animation?
@@devonkong Hi, I mean using bone tools
thank you
Are you gonna do any videos about python ? BTW your videos are so informative and to the point. 👍🏻
Thanks! If i did teach Python, I'd probably make a new channel for it - no plans to do that right now though
Can you tell me how to invert the mask?
Unfortunately there isn't an 'invert mask' setting (there should be!)
You'll just have to draw the mask inverted
THANKS
yo cool sanks u , useful!
you means tye second number motion tween is use in masking and unnasking
A tutorial about Color grading/shadows/ or animation background 😄😄
Is it possible to invert a mask?
i am used to After Effects and i hate Adobe Animate timeline. it looks so unconvinient. Thanks to you i am geting used to it

Great idea, I'll add this to my list!
Everytime i tried to do the mask my whole text and background vanished. I cant tell what im doing wrong.
It's a bit hard for me to help without screenshots etc, but I've set up a Discord server for this purpose if you're still stuck: discord.gg/KvpVqKtx
