Very sensible setting off so early Roger. It looked a fine route though. Of all the Lakeland Fells, it would be the ones around Wasdale I know the least. They are the furthest for me to get to and when I have made the effort I've been rather unlucky with the weather. 🤔
We've been going to the Lakes for a week in June for years, usually near Keswick, but this year we stayed just outside Wasdale so we could knock off our remaining fells there.

I love the walk up Kirk Fell from Wasdale Head. Virtually continuous straight up. Great views of Wasdale too. Best wishes.
