Hi Karen, yes we're both well. Starting to get into Dartmoor more each time I visit. It's a long journey but dead easy thanks to the M5 and A30. I got two each of the Steak Detective's meal so will be trying the others soon. Good to see you back on the moor.ATB, Roger
Very cool toque!! Love it!! My grandfather made and kept ice for his neighbourhood way back in the day in Bedford, Nova Scotia. Those sure look like great energy bars!
The toque was an "emergency buy' when I lost one away from home last year it was the only one in the shop. We'd call it a "beanie". Nice family memory about the ice too. ATB, Roger

Losing/breaking/forgetting things is slowly becoming your MO mate 😂. Glad you found your keys, not sure I would have had the drive to go all the way back to the car! Fair play!!

Excellent! have you ever camped up at the Vixen Tor.someone wrote a book about a wee adventure I went on there,called the dream of Vixen Tor.where I’m the 3 main characters in it,the coachman,the ranger and the waif.a very odd wee book but nevertheless a true story.👍
Roger, I have to applaud your stamina mate! As you can probably imagine, I would have decided sod the keys, sod the car! I'll just stay here and die (I haven't changed that much since Lydmet days). I do like fog... though probably not on Dartmoor. I like the sense of isolation it gives... although you probably get that on Dartmoor anyway. Beautiful views in the morning! I didn't realise you had a RUclips channel so I'll definitely check that out when I've finished typing. Good to see you.
Hi Ron, been a while😀 I was pretty near exhausted by the time I got back to the tent to be honest but I wouldn't have been to sleep. Fog is fun as long as you know the countryside you're in, not so much when you don't.
@@thewanderingforester That's true. Fog is no fun when driving or in unfamiliar surroundings. Fortunately, I've managed to avoid both those situations (mostly). I did have to get a scooter for my last job before I retired. I was working at a care home and not turning up wasn't an option. I didn't encounter much fog but we did have a harsh winter when many roads were closed and people were advised to stay home. Problem was that most of the staff relied on cars and many couldn't get through so we were bound to be short staffed. If the staff levels dropped below the legal minimum, the home would have to close and the residents would have to be farmed out to other locations (which would have been a logistic nightmare). The staff were limited to those who lived close enough to walk and those who rode motorbikes or scooters and could push the thing across fields to get to a more accessible road. Quite often we had to stay until enough of the next shift had made it in to relieve us. As much as I enjoyed the work, I was only too happy to retire.
Oh dear .. what a terrible time looking for the keys .. Thank god you found them . Gortex gives me two hours of water proofing . I was out the other day its so easy get off the bearings . At least you succeeded . Weather has been well off .
What didn't help was that my OS maps app stopped tracking me when my phone got wet in my pocket . The little position arrow thing just didn't move for ages.
I am the world champion at losing stuff. But never my keys. I have them on a chain attached to my pants by a small karabiner. The chain is long enough that the keys can be in the ignition. I know the frustration of losing stuff. I do wonder how many wild campers have ADHD? I’m quite scatterbrained but also very creative in finding solutions to a problem, like having taken the wrong tent and therefore having the wrong poles! 🙃
Love your key idea. Maybe I should try attaching everything to my trousers to stop losing stuff. My life is generally a fight between a slight OCD and a helping of laziness, I should let the OCD win more often I think. Thanks for watching, ATB, Roger
Feel your pain... I dropped my Debit card on a cinema seat, 20 minutes later in BK I realised, and had to track back the 150metres and into the screen, while patrons where starting to enter for the second screening. Found it. all good.
