I have tried for years to make perfect rice: rice cooker, in a pot on the stove, etc. But not until I purchased the Instant Pot pressure cooker and followed the directions and script for Perfect Jasmine Rice have I been pleased with the results. In the Instant Pot it's perfect every time. Thanks for your video, Flo.
When I got my Instant Pot, the very first thing I did was get rid of my rice cooker and there are absolutely no regrets. The IP makes perfect rice every time.
+Flo Lum - I LOVE my Nojirushi rice cooker though.. and having it helps me to make rice AND cook in the instant pot so they are both done at the same time.
If I had a Zojirushi rice cooker, I would probably have kept it too but I have been getting away from using non-stick and now I have 2 Instant Pots so I can still have my rice done at the same time. 😊
Flo Lum Yes.. I agree about non-stick in general.. but boy oh boy that zojurishi (yikes.. not nojirushi!) is one quality product... perfect rice every time and thx to hand washing it - the lining on the bowl is still like new (3+ years later). thinking of getting a second IP bowl though.. will make it easier to start a 2nd batch of soup, etc.... thx again for your fine video.... welcome back too!
+Flo Lum : I really love it , but I wanna buy the 220v smart pot with BT, where can I get it ? I have found for 1 week but failed. I am in China . could you help me?
Just watched Perfect Jasmine Rice. Please also include Setting and Time for people who can’t start the pot with the App. Thank you! Am enjoying-you’re very concise and clear.
Thanks, Lyn! Hope you enjoy the channel. The recipe should be in the recipe book that came with your pot but mind you I’ve had my pots for almost 3 years now. Manual high 4 mins, 10 mins natural release.
Hello from the USA/ Missouri!!!! I just followed your vid about making rice in the Instant Pot. Delish!!! We are rice foodies in this house! It turned out perfect. Some days all I want for lunch/dinner is a bowl of rice with a bit of butter and some fresh ground pepper. Thank you for the great video:)
Perfect Basmati rice - thank you! I followed the Instant Pot instructions for Basmati and it was a soggy disaster! So glad I found your channel, you have been a huge help (ribs tonight, yum and so fast!)... I hope you don't mind but I answered another reader about brown rice as we cook it in the instant pot all the time! No soaking, no rinsing and a 2 cups rice to 2.5 cups water. I am using a short grain brown rice from a large bag from T and T markets...22 minutes at high pressure and 10 minute natural release...
+Claire Maunsell Absolutely don't mind you answering questions here! Especially when I don't have an answer. 😊 So glad you are finding the videos helpful! Thanks, Claire!
Basmati rice is far better than jasmine rice. Basmati rice has the kernel that is 18% more fiber than any rice and it has flavor. it grows only in india and Pakistan. it doesnot need to rinse because if it's clean and rinsing takes away the vitamins. it does not have the starch dust like jasmine rice. if basmati rice is brown then it will out beat any quality of rice in the world. basmati rice = 1.5 cup ratio to get a perfect rice and 1tsf olive oil will make the rice not clinging at all.
@@skylark304 Thanks, I was wondering about rice types and qualities... all we usually eat is white rice, I'm not even sure what kind... But short grain... I want to experiment with different rice, I love rice!

Flo Lum, thank you for sharing these videos. I have two stove top pressure cookers. However, I recently purchased the Instant Pot, so happy to see how easy it will be to use. Thank you again for all the great recipes you have shared thus far.
Hi Flo, watched your video on the sticky rice a couple of times and finally tried it today. Just wanted to thank-you for this wonderful recipe as it turned out so great and delicious.
Thank you, Flo. I just received my IP and the first thing that I made was rice. I used the measuring cup that came with the pot but had no idea that the inside measurements correspond to the cup. That will make it easier the next time. Also, I did not pre-rinse my rice and it was quite gelatinous! Thanks for the tips!
Great videos! I have tried almost every recipe you offer including the creme caramel and you are right on. Thank you. I love my IP and use it almost every day. I'm having a birthday group this weekend and I'm doing ribs again, soooo good and easy.

Sitting here and catching up on a few of your videos that I haven't watched yet. A while ago, I asked what rice you used for your every day cooking. That question was generated because wanted to watch your Instant Pot Rice video - I knew you had made one, but when I was hunting for it, I couldn't find it. Of course, now I found it and my question was answered a second time! LOL
Thanks Flo - love your videos! I'm a newbie to the IP Community as well as a first-time IP DUO pot owner. I want to make better use of my IP and am eagerly learning along with the rest of your subscribers! I think anything you want to make will be great to watch and learn.
Thanks so much, Angeline! You'll love your IP! Sometimes people just need to see it in action. Glad you're finding the videos helpful. Hope you're subscribed so you will be notified of new videos.
I so enjoy your videos (also like the background jazz) and all the wonderful recipes. You two are a great team....After seeing you use the smart pot I ordered a Smart Instant Pot from one of the links you provided thank you Flo. l am having fun using it with some of your recipes.
Hi Flo. Enjoyed your video, very informative. Only problem is we do not have the smart app instant pot as they are not available in uk. So we are unable to use the app to cook anything, would we just use the rice button instead to do jasmine rice?
+Rosmali Chiba The longer you keep it on "keep warm", it will start to crisp and stick to the bottom of the pot. As soon as it's done, make sure keep warm is off. I usually stir it around before serving. If there is rice leftover, I store it in an air tight container in the fridge. Then I usually use it for fried rice or will reheat it in microwave.
+Nancy Giorlando Thanks, Nancy! I always give instructions for the DUO at the bottom of all my IP recipes on the blog. This particular recipe is not mine. It is found in the recipe book that came with your IP and on the app. 😊

Liked! Wish this were titled specifically jasmine rice because I found it searching for brown rice. Going to look now to see if you have one for brown rice. Thanks!
+Amanda Moran While Instant Pot has a web page for cooking different grains and rice here: instantpot.com/cooking-time/rice-and-grains/ they also have posted a page on cooking perfect rice here: instantpot.com/how-to-cook-perfect-rice-in-an-electric-pressure-cooker/. And basically what they say is since the rice is damp (soaked) from washing, then you only need a 1:1 ratio for the water and then the only thing which varies is the cooking time.
Thank you Flo for your recipes. I have watched a few of them, and each one looks delicious! Thank you for all the work you both put into making your video's.
+Kevin Dufresne I have made sushi rice but I made sure I soaked the rice for about 30 min but I still use 1:1 ratio and cook as I do in this video. I never use the rice setting.
I liked your video, learned that I should rinse the rice before cooking...good idea...no sticky rice....I just made some rice and it came out OK, but it was a bit sticky...at the bottom of the pot...I will be sure to rinse before cooking...thanks
Hey Flo, I bought an Intant Pot today - was looking for recipes... and what do I come across but my friend from good ol Rye High - Glad to see you doing well. :) Julia x
Flo love it love it you are awesome and just make it all look so good I bet your old man is so well feed, don't worry about the kitchen my kitchen is much smaller that is why I purchased my Instant pot small worktop I am going to use my pot to make Natto but as yet have not found any information online to using it for Natto
I'm really enjoying your videos. I just got my IP about a week ago. I don't have my slow cooker anymore and wonder if you can give some tips or do some videos about using what you would make in your Crock-Pot and how to do it in the IP. For instance, does it need more water or how do you figure the time if you want to pressure cook it and not slow cook it. Thanks.
+Julie Green Thanks, Julie. I tossed out my slow cooker once I picked up the IP. To be honest, I never liked cooking with the slow cooker and I’ve tried all sorts of recipes. I can’t remember a single one I enjoyed. A rule with the pressure cooking is you will need liquid to create the pressure to cook but the liquid will not evaporate and will create more liquid while cooking. Hope that helps.
Great video Flo, you have a nice style. I am new to the IP, am hoping to master cooking other whole grains (hulled barley?) & beans. My first attempt at beans did not work (mushy), despite following instructions. Would love to see videos on this if you have experience. Thanks!
Hello Flo! That was an excellent video tutorial! It had a short, informative but sweet intro. You covered ALL the details and you were overall concise with the information while being as cute as you are naturally. I would love to learn how to make traditional sushi rice. I hope that you can make one because you are one of the few people who naturally know how to teach on a video. Thank you so much! Jay
Thanks so much, Jay! That is very kind! I will add sushi rice to the list. In the meantime, I usually soak Japanese short grain rice for at least 30 mins before cooking. Hope that's helpful.
Hi Flo, love your videos! Just purchased my instant pot and have had good success with the things I’ve cooked, mostly meat dishes. Can one successfully cook broccoli and the softer veggies with out them getting mushy? Thanks!
I don't often cook veggies in the IP as I believe it is just another tool in the kitchen. It does not eliminate other cooking techniques. Vegetables need precise cooking to get the texture you like. However, here is one time I do broccoli: ruclips.net/video/RoMI4PBn5CA/видео.html
Hi Flo! I've been a fan of yours for years but have never cooked rice in my instantpot. You make it look really easy but I don't have measurements on my liner. Should I jus follow the rice bag instructions 2: parts water to 1 part rice or is it different using a pressure cooker? I'm using Kirkland enriched long grain.
I was wondering if you could do a tutorial for making cheesecake in the IP? Also I don't have he Bluetooth model of IP, can you tell me what settings you used for the jasmine rice?
+Judy Gilchrist Hi Judy, you have no idea how badly I've been wanting to make a cheesecake in this thing! Since last summer!!! I've been on the search for the perfect 7" pan and there was none to be found. A friend finally found one for me and I just picked it up the other night so stay tuned! The jasmine rice recipe can be found in your manual under Perfect Jasmine rice. 4mins high pressure, 10 mins natural release.
I own the Instant Pot duo since Wednesday this week. And now I found your videos (which are awesome and inspireing) and have to find out that in the USA there is a bluetooth version of this pot. Unfortunately it is not available in Germany. Will keep on watching your videos and make some of your recipes
Being from South Georgia....I always cooked my rice on the stovetop but typically added salt and butter to my recipe. When making rice in the insta pot should I not use salt or butter until after the rice is cooked?
It would be very informative if you could also mention what buttons you would be pushing if someone doesn't have a smart phone. Great videos as always!! Thanks for you for the great info!!!!!
hi flo, i was very intrigued that you can use an app for your IP. that is amazing! i have had my pot for almost 3 years, but i have never used the app to control the pot. is it from IP ? thanks so much
I am an old fashion person not quite tuned in for this new tech. How did you set up to cook the rice with your phone? And what can I do if I don't know to set it up on the phone? How long it takes if I do set it manually?
Well I hope you read this. Last comment made was 2 years ago. Anyway, all I can do is try. Do you think you could make a Mexican rice recipe in the ip for me? It would be greatly appreciated. Love your recipes have tried several with good results. Keep them coming. Thanks for sharing your labor of love.
I have tried SO many times to make "flavoured" rice in the IP and I almost always get a BURN message. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Thanks for checking though, Lydia!
Can you cook rice using the pressure cook setting? I thought I saw a note in the pot when I bought it saying to not cook food such as rice using pressure cook setting.
It is equal amounts of rice to water. If you measure 3 cups of rice with the cup that came with your pot and then measured 3 cups of water in that same cup, you will find that the water will reach the 3 cup line in the pot.
So, if I have a recipe that says use 3 cups water, or broth or whatever, and I fill that empty pot up to the three cup measurement mark on the pot, I'm getting more than 3 cups then? Because in your explanation above, you used an equal amount of rice to displace that equal amount of liquid. In my scenario, it's all liquid.
The marks are IF YOU USE THE PLASTIC CUP TO MEASURE. Otherwise, if you use a real measuring cup, 3 cups rice, and then a real measuring glass, 3 cups water.
Hi, thanks for the video(s). Two rice questions: (1) Do you also use the IP warming function to keep the rice warm after cooking? In the one attempt we made, the rice then got stuck on the bottom, so I don't know if it was related at all that we actually left the rice in there to keep warm. Have you had success using it as a rice warmer? (2) If you have leftover rice and then want to warm up, what is your recommendation? I tried microwaving which didn't turn out so well. Otherwise, I would use a steamer but the included steaming rack would itself not hold the rice. Would you have a recommendation what accessory can be used to steam the rice using the Instant Pot? Thanks.
Thank you for your comments. I do not like to use the keep warm function to keep the rice warm since I do find it too warm and will continue to cook the rice (which I used to find happened in my rice cooker too) and start to stick on the bottom but I find if you turn the IP off the pot keeps the rice quite warm for about an hour or so after cooking. I always make the rice as close as possible to serving time. To warm up leftover rice you can steam it in a bowl on a trivet. They refer to this as the pot in pot method. It should take long. 2-3 mins to reheat. How that helps!
I can’t believe I haven’t tried to cook white rice with my 3-year-old instant pot until later this morning! I have a feeling it would taste 10x better than my $15 rice cooker🤣🤣🤣. If it works, I will be saving a couple of hundred from having to buy a Korean Cuckoo “smart” rice cooker which suppose to make the best tasting white rice ever. Keeping my fingers cross🤞
+Nancy McCormack Hi Nancy, when I am using my own recipes, I always give instructions to those without the Smart IP on my blog. However, when I am showing how to make a recipe that is not my own, I give the source. Hope that's helpful!
can you tell me what time u would use to cook the rice without using that thing on your phone? would you use the manual button? and do you turn the cooker off while pressure coming down? thanks
+Elizabeth Jones Hi Elizabeth, it is a sieve. I initially bought it for sifting flour. I have no idea where I got it but I love it and use it for all sorts of straining and hardly ever use it for sifting!
+Elizabeth Jones My husband, the sleuth, found out exactly what it is I use. LOL I have the 8" one. =) www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00004OCLW/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B00004OCLW&linkCode=as2&tag=dalu-20&linkId=NTXOPXUPFEGB7732
There is also now a free app that has IP recipes/cooking times/tips for all IP models that you can get off of the app stores for apple and android. make sure you choose the red icon for this app =)
This may be a silly question, but does the pressure cooker release steam during the entire cooking process when used on "high" like a stove top pressure cooker does. I have tried to see this cooker in use on other videos, but everyone seems to just edit out the cooking part. Great video, by the way
Do you know how long the instant pot cooks the rice for, as I don't have one and I'd like to try replicating this with the electric pressure cooker I do have
Flo, yes, I belatedly remembered you said at the beginning it is from the IP included recipe book. And yes, that’s what mine says. Thanks for replying! Lyn
For brown Jasmine rice I use 2 water to 1 rice ratio for small batches in my (non-clamped top) rice cooker. Less water to rice for larger batches. Hope to get an insta-pot to experiment with idea ratio.
I started watching ur videos just a short time ago. I just wanted to say though for those of us that have the basic instant pot they don't have the app could you please tell us the time because every time you use it you're just pushing your app which doesn't give us the time of how long you cooking so I'm just kind of wondering how long are you cooking something thank you
+shelia french Appreciate the feedback, Shelia. I started this channel over 2 years ago now so the videos you see me pressing buttons on the app was at the beginning but even so, I still give instruction for DUO users whether on screen or in the recipe on my blog. This particular recipe is in the recipe book that comes with your IP and I did not feel right about giving the full instructions on screen but now it's been 2 yrs and I have given it out many times in the comments. 4 mins manual high, NPR 10 mins. You will find in my later recipes that I no longer use the app. Hope you find that helpful.
thanks very much for your reply. I'm cooking long grain rice at high pressure. The rice setting on my Instant pot is just a bit long, was a little bit stuck to the bottom and just a bit soft.
So can you just push the "rice" button on the IP, or do you have to program it manually to have the rice turn out like this? Does the "rice" button make it sense when the rice is done no matter how much you cook?
MegadethsGirl "same time as rice cooker.” It’s true there is not much time saving here. But I like the texture of the rice better...I use brown rice. And the nice thing is that if your rice cooker ever Konks out, you’ll know how to do it in the IP instead of buying another one.
Thanks. This is different than the Instant Pot manual. I followed the instructions for Basmati Rice (1 cup rice to 1.5 cups water), and it was a wet soggy sticky mess (and I did wash 5 times and soak for 30mins). I see you use 3 plastic cups of rice then pour the water up to the 3 on the side of the pot - but AFTER the rice is in the pot. So that must be LESS than 3 cups of water?! How much water are you actually adding?
+Trish Meyer I grew up using a rice cooker so, the lines on the pot have always corresponded to how much rice was measured with the cup it came with. I assume this to be the same with the IP. I don't know for sure but when I do only 1 cup of rice, I use equal amount of water measured with the same cup I used to measure the rice. (Not dry measure and liquid measure.) Hope that helps.
I have tried for years to make perfect rice: rice cooker, in a pot on the stove, etc. But not until I purchased the Instant Pot pressure cooker and followed the directions and script for Perfect Jasmine Rice have I been pleased with the results. +Flo Lum ha! Well at least you are honest. :)
You are very kind! I appreciate your comments! =)
HI, did you try to make sushi rice? is the ratio is the same as regular rice? can i use the preset setting or should I go on manuel? thank you
+Kevin Dufresne I have made sushi rice but I made sure I soaked the rice for about 30 min but I still use 1:1 ratio and cook as I do in this video. I never use the rice setting.
I liked your video, learned that I should rinse the rice before cooking...good idea...no sticky rice....I just made some rice and it came out OK, but it was a bit sticky...at the bottom of the pot...I will be sure to rinse before cooking...thanks
+Dorothy Murrin Great! We always rinse our rice before cooking. It's less starchy and sticky and has a cleaner taste.
Hey Flo, I bought an Intant Pot today - was looking for recipes... and what do I come across but my friend from good ol Rye High - Glad to see you doing well. :) Julia x
+julia maher Hey, Julia! Good to hear from you! Enjoy your new pot! 😊
I love what you and Dude are doing, 10 thumbs up. For Flo, keep up the good work, for Dude (Not a real Malaysian name) teruskan kerja yang bagus
Thanks!
I have several bags of beans to try. Haven't gotten into it too much yet. It's definitely on my list!
I just add the rice, water, some salt and either some butter or oil and let 'er go! Turns out perfect each time! I don't let it sit at all.
Lousy tutorial. She didn't even state cooking time. Some of us don't have or use a Dumb phone.
Loved your video Flo...just got my Instant Pot and your recipe was spot on. Please keep the videos coming...Thanks...Terry
+Terry Powell Thanks, Terry! So glad the video helped. I appreciate the encouragement.
I just did for the first time rice in the Instant Pot... great! Thanks for the info on rinsing.
I made some brown rice in mine. It tasted so much better than the microwave 90 second rice
Very nice video, short and to the point. Also the volume level of the background music is perfect. Thanks for this video.
+Stephanie Pelkmann Great! Someone else just commented that there isn't a Bluetooth model available there yet. Hope you're enjoying the DUO!
How long did you cook the rice and at what setting. There is a setting for rice on mine. Do you ever use that?
I never use the rice setting. I fell in love with this method and never looked back. 4 minutes manual high pressure, 10 mins natural release.
Being from South Georgia....I always cooked my rice on the stovetop but typically added salt and butter to my recipe. When making rice in the insta pot should I not use salt or butter until after the rice is cooked?
I don't see why you couldn't add your salt and butter while cooking.
Thank you for these videos. My rice often is too sticky, I'll try it your way.
So glad you enjoy the videos. Hope this version works out for you!
It would be very informative if you could also mention what buttons you would be pushing if someone doesn't have a smart phone.
Great videos as always!! Thanks for you for the great info!!!!!
hi flo, i was very intrigued that you can use an app for your IP. that is amazing! i have had my pot for almost 3 years, but i have never used the app to control the pot. is it from IP ? thanks so much
Flo, do you have a video for brown rice? Is there any difference in cooking brown rice compared to white?
Sorry, I don't have a video for brown rice because we don't eat it. My understanding is that it needs double the cook time.
I am an old fashion person not quite tuned in for this new tech.
How did you set up to cook the rice with your phone? And what can I do if I don't know to set it up on the phone?
How long it takes if I do set it manually?
Only works if you have the Smart model. If not, just use the manual settings. Also, this recipe is in the recipe book that came with your Instant Pot.
Flo - do you use the Rice button or do High or low pressure and how many minutes for 6 cups rice/water? Thanks.
That is what I do here. 4 mins high pressure, 10 mins natural release.
Thanks :)
So you didn't actually use 3 cups of water if you used the scale in the pot, because the rice displaced the measurement.
It is equal amounts of rice to water. If you measure 3 cups of rice with the cup that came with your pot and then measured 3 cups of water in that same cup, you will find that the water will reach the 3 cup line in the pot.
+Flo Lum ahh, witchcraft.
LOL
+Flo Lum Thanks much. I'll try the "pot in pot method" tonight!
I meant it shouldn't take long. 😊
For those who don't have a Smart Instant Pot, would you please give settings and times for what you're making? Love your videos!
+Nancy McCormack Hi Nancy, when I am using my own recipes, I always give instructions to those without the Smart IP on my blog. However, when I am showing how to make a recipe that is not my own, I give the source. Hope that's helpful!
Flo Lum it is your show, but I think you should give the settings and time.
can you tell me what time u would use to cook the rice without using that thing on your phone? would you use the manual button? and do you turn the cooker off while pressure coming down? thanks
+Susan Scheponick 4 mins manual high pressure. 10 mins NPR. You don't have to turn it off.
thank you!!!
Flo, could you please tell me what kind of strainer you use to rinse the rice? I'd LOVE to get one just like it. Thanks!

i like to mix my white jasmine rice with quinoa, wild rice, and brown rice. Sometimes lentils too.
+Ryan Y. 👍🏼 Sounds good!
Ryan Y. How long do you cook it for if it's mixed?
What do you cook on the Bake and Broil settings?
What app are you talking about? I love the idea of the everyday receipts. The "staples" of everyday receipts. Cool idea!!
Thanks! There's an app that works with the Instant Pot Smart model called Smart Cooker.
There is also now a free app that has IP recipes/cooking times/tips for all IP models that you can get off of the app stores for apple and android. make sure you choose the red icon for this app =)
This video is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!
+Brian McFarlane Excellent!
This may be a silly question, but does the pressure cooker release steam during the entire cooking process when used on "high" like a stove top pressure cooker does. I have tried to see this cooker in use on other videos, but everyone seems to just edit out the cooking part. Great video, by the way
+thejimmilner It does not release and steam while cooking. And if it does, there is something not right. Hope that helps.
Thanks I just got my pot and this video really helped me! I think I can get rid of my rice cooker now. 😄
+cindih1956 Yes! I got rid of my rice cooker and slow cooker.
Could you pl tell me What version of IP has blue tooth option like yours?
This one is the Smart model but it's been discontinued. I think I heard that there is a new wifi model.
Ok ty
I just subscribed to your channel...great videos! What model instant pot are you using? thanks!
+Abe Lin Thanks, Abe! Check out my Smart vs DUO video. ruclips.net/video/mK43nI5hmRU/видео.html
Do you know how long the instant pot cooks the rice for, as I don't have one and I'd like to try replicating this with the electric pressure cooker I do have
I cook it for 4 mins high pressure and 10 mins natural release.
Hello Flo, I did like the video, but I misplaced my book and I do not have the smart pot so what is the time? (very important) TY
4 mins high pressure, 10 mins natural release
I wa so surprised how fast I received the instant pot . Ordered it Friday night through Amazon and got it Monday evening from UPS.
Amazon is great at getting your items to you quick. Hope you're enjoying your pot!
Nice video. How many minutes is that manually?
You are so sweet and relaxed!!! It is actually a pleasure watching your videos...
+Bruce Kersman Aw... So kind! Thank you, Bruce!
Flo Lum
you are so correct Bruce, like having a good friend cooking and education you. Wonderful.
What app are you using with your instant pot? Do all instant pots work with the app?
Wonderful recipe video, Flo! You are so relaxed and informative. Please post more recipes.
+Bill Danzeisen Thanks so much, Bill! I appreciate that!
No it wasn't. She didn't even state cooking time. Some of us don't have or use a Dumb phone.
for us that don't have the app on our phone, how long did you cook it for and also is the cooking time the same for 1 cup as it is 2 cups.?
+Pete_ Hine_Of_PA 4 mins manual high pressure, 10 mins NPR. Same time no matter how much you make.
thanks very much for your reply. I'm cooking long grain rice at high pressure. The rice setting on my Instant pot is just a bit long, was a little bit stuck to the bottom and just a bit soft.
Hi I just found this! Will this turn out all right it I double or triple it?
Hey Flo,
when I make rice on the stove I usually add a tbsp of coconut oil to it.
can I do that in the IP?
+Meghan Anderson That should be fine. I don't see why not.
So can you just push the "rice" button on the IP, or do you have to program it manually to have the rice turn out like this? Does the "rice" button make it sense when the rice is done no matter how much you cook?
+Tron I have never used rice button so I can't speak to that.
I used the rice button tonight and it came out mushy! Wish I had seen this video first. Thanks Flo
Don't know why the Rice button is there. I used it tonight and it came out very mushy. Wish I had seen this video first. Hope this helps.
+loopev So glad you found it helpful. I hardly ever use the preset buttons.
Thanks for the video. How long did it take to cook the rice?
Total time was about 20 mins including come to pressure time, 4 mins cook time, 10 min NPR.
MegadethsGirl "same time as rice cooker.” It’s true there is not much time saving here. But I like the texture of the rice better...I use brown rice. And the nice thing is that if your rice cooker ever Konks out, you’ll know how to do it in the IP instead of buying another one.
@@gwanma
So brown rice is the same cooking time as white rice? (In the Instant Pot)
I am so glad I found your you tube page I really like this Jasmine rice recipe. Thank you so much for having a great video page.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Great video, I'm glad you enjoyed my rice technique in the Instant Pot booklet! Adding this to my channel's play list. Ciao, L
Thank you so much, Laura! Perfect every time!
Since I don't use the app, how many minutes do i need to set it on my Instapot? Does it chsnger for greater portions of rice?
Flo, when you add peas to rice when cooking in an Instant Pot do you add more liquid and/or time? If so, what is the ratio? Thanks!
+sonicliberation If adding just a handful of peas, I don't think you need to adjust the water at all since peas won't absorb the liquid.
