Thank you a ton for this comment! Speedreading is something I've found incredibly useful in my life, and I've spent so much time going through 'fluff and junk' on the topic. So it was important for me to try to get across what has worked for me personally in hopes it would cut through the noise to help somebody else. (Although I can't quite claim zero corny-ness in my videos. But at least it's usually just bad puns 😂) Thanks for watching and dropping a comment!
This is a good video. I appreciate the concrete suggestions for how to actually practice (Reading Trainer and Spreeder). Many videos will say "stop subvocalizing" or "learn to read more than one word at once," but don't tell you how to get there. Now I have tools to create a regimen to practice these skills daily. Thanks!
That was the biggest hurdle for me too! I had read so many books until it finally 'clicked' for me. The ones I listed in the video are the ones that made the biggest impact for me finally getting it. I'm glad that sharing it could help you as well!
I agree. Not only being able to take in more information - but being smart about deciding 'what' information will return the most value for you, maximizing your time. Thanks for swinging by the channel!
I always choose to have a Morgan Freeman narration all the time, I read mostly (exclusively) fiction books so I prefer to imagine the movie in my head.
I've found myself preferring that for fiction as well. Especially if it's a brilliantly written narrative, or a book I'm really trying to enjoy spending time immersed in.
It is possible, and you'll definitely see 'reduction' before 'removal' - but the learning curve reminds me a lot of a beginner practicing meditation, at first it's incredibly difficult to see any kind of progress and then it just sort of clicks after enough practice.
Interesting. Maybe it's because I'm on Android, but I've never spent a dime (or have been prompted) to spend money on Reading Trainer by Heku IT. Is there an app cost for Apple devices? Still use it to this day! Quite a few downloads in 2021 as well.
Looks like you're right about the small fee for the app. I've had it for so long that it either may have been free when I originally got it, or completely forgot that I had to pay anything for it (it's likely been on 4 phones through time now...) Regardless, the exercises in it are still the same ones I use to this day to keep the skill from atrophying. So I still recommend it. However, It's a bummer on both fronts though, that it has a cost associated as well as not having an update released since 2015. If you happen to come across an app that's free and up to date, please toss it in the comments! I'd love to try it out. Thanks for the thoughts, and swinging by the channel. I appreciate it!
@@CommonKnowledge42 Haha, thanks for your input! It will help me a lot in my decision. If I discover anything useful, I’ll let you know. Thanks again. Your tips has also been really helpful.
Thanks Şüpheciler! I appreciate positive feedback on the video! There are definitely a lot of scam speed reading programs out there, it does become difficult to find the ones that really help you improve your reading speed.
This guys gets STRAIGHT TO THE POINT i love it. I hate how tedious and corny some explanatory videos can get so this was a breath of fresh air.

As someone in college, thus is a real game changer

Also, I have a book problem same as you do, it's really stressful not knowing what to read next...

Is it even possible to stop subvoculation? I can't imagine not talking in my mind constanly, even when I'm not reading

Haku IT hasn’t been updated in like 5 years? I’m really skeptical if it’s really a viable option, it costs money after all.

Professional video! I like! But speed reading is just a scam.
