    Why do I think of my best ideas in the shower?

      There's actually an excellent scientific explanation for that one! However, I'm afraid to hunt down enough stock footage of people showering to make the video for it... 😂🤣

    Is rice a seed??? What part of the plant is the white rice we eat?

    • @CommonKnowledge42
      @CommonKnowledge42  3 года назад

      We've actually had a 30 minute discussion not long at the dinner table once about things being both grains and seeds 🤣 And which is better for you, white rice or brown rice. Although 'more nutritious' I've also seen studies that show that brown rice has higher levels of arsenic in it...

    Why do cats purr?

    • @CommonKnowledge42
      @CommonKnowledge42  3 года назад +1

      That one is getting added to the video list. Because I know the reason for it, and it is absolutely awesome and has permanently changed the way I've thought of cats ever since I've figured it out.

    Why humans are not turning pink when they eat the same shrimp?

    • @CommonKnowledge42
      @CommonKnowledge42  2 года назад +2

      It takes quite a bit more carotenoids to turn our skin to a pink or orange color. While it technically is possible for your skin color to change from eating too many shrimp (with the shells on them... not too appetizing) you'd probably be full long before then.
      Carrots have a bit higher concentration of carotenoids than shrimp. (Notice the similar word roots it carrot and carotenoid.) It's been documented that eating around ten large carrots every day for a few weeks can tint skin color in humans.
      Thanks for watching and the great question! :)

      You know what they say: "Dress for the job you want not the job you have." 😂
      This was actually the first video I made. Hopefully the editing quality has gone up a bit since. (Although I will say, my jokes were better in the early stuff, haha!)
      I really appreciate it!

    what happens if you feed them blue food?

    If you feed them green food do they turn green?

    • @CommonKnowledge42
      @CommonKnowledge42  2 года назад

      I don't believe green foods (unless it's dyed) acts in the same way as orange does in canthaxanthin.
      BUT! (I could throw an extra 'T' in there to really add to the joke...) If they eat enough green food it could possibly turn their poo green! At least it does in humans... 😂
