We know Canada is the land of great depression. Hasnt changed in modern day. But yeah we coined the fact that. Its not a war crime the FIRST time you do it. And as much as there are Canada like areas in the US...... a lot of US citizens wouldnt survive here.
For a history short, an interesting topic would be how Canada was so brutal that they literally had articles of the Geneva Convention written because of them.
As a Canadian having the focuses that fix the country locked behind world tension is historically accurate because unless we’re actively forced to do something we would just choose to do nothing Same with long focuses for minimal return. Things move very slowly for minimal benefit around here. The people, however, are not to be fucked with. We are a dangerous bunch not to be pissed off. Like Midwesterners with a maple syrup addiction.
After a recent update, playing Australia is also much better than before. Building a competent surface fleet to help the war effort against Japan was such a blast!
when playing canada i like to start out with the 3 dockyards. this way you can build a super cheap heavy cruiser by the end of 1936. that allows you to get 5% ws from having a pride of the fleet. together with an attache you can get 25% ws and switch to partial mob earlier.
Well, that has some debate given some of the testimony at the inquiry. I mean 150 meter shot on Iron sights is a little difficult to shoot fleeing people in the legs. There was some issues with the civilian inquiry not understand field conditions that some actions took place on.
someone probably pointed it out but they changed it recently so that Canada no longer has to choose between manpower and industry. it took them years to realize it but they finally fixed it.
At the start I would recommend just putting your civilian factories to work building a railroad from Alexandria to Sidi Barrani as well as a supply hub there because you get plenty of military factories from your focus tree and you'll need the supply once the war breaks out.
Somehow I believe Stakuyi’s sanity hasn’t fully recovered since he played the pony mods :)) Or maybe he’s just being himself as always Great video as usual
Fun Fact! the plural of goose is geese and the plural of moose is moose bc goose is a germanic word and moose comes from the first nations of canada and the US -edit: as Helmet Fire helpfully pointed out, the plural of moose is still moose!
if you know our history, nobody likes that 😂 when canada goes violent, folks start writing certain checklists called "the geneva convention" trying to tell us we arent allowed to be violent canada anymore😂
You do know that assigning your dockyards and setting them to be the lowest on your production tab, does not hurt any of the higher ones. It doesn't matter if you start building a ship with 100 steel required, the resources that you have go the the higher ones and you only get a penalty on the lower ones. So you lose literally nothing for building convoys and manpower for ships.
I'm gonna be honest I usually go the manpower route since I mainly play Canada in mp anyways so I get more than enough factories from people buying my licenses (at one point got 16 civs just from various ship and mechanized licenses sold)
How did he start researching M. Rocket Artillery without researching Rockets Artillery first? The game wont let me do it (I don't have all DLCs just in case)
In the beginning, did you start any building like civilian factories or military factories or did you just leave that blank for the moment and focus on the focuses? I'm trying to follow your video on iron man to try and see if i can get any achievements from it.
Canada. Land of the great depression. Modern day too. Nothing much has changed. But thank you for all the content. Love everything on the history channel. Thanks for being an amazing person and wondeful creator.
@DropkicktheDecepticon both are his channels. And promoting the other one with full length videos that do a great job of imparting the information without it being overloading and also fun? You can hear the energy in his voice even when he is sick. The guy loves creating this content and he does it in a great way. The games are fun and we learn a little. But the straight informational stories bring to light things that most people dont see how insane and amazing it is. He studies history but that also means he is studying people and their behavior and patterns. I just love his passion.
I have a dumb idea, but it could be an interesting video. Your wife and child control Germany’s politics while you do the military. The only other things you can do is fill out the military cabinet, and assign military factories+build things. I know this sounds unhinged, that’s because I want to see more hoi4 randomness.
Gummy ridge. French tried to take it in WW1. The Canadians basically said: WHAT RIDGE! And blew it up with continuous artillery followed up by an infantry assault. Germans didn’t last a day.
Fun fact: During WW1 many Germans believed that Canada would execute POWs so they were very hesitant to surrender to them. The rumor was Canada didn't have enough troops to watch POWs, so they would just kill them.
its alot darker than that actually. keeping prisoners meant feeding them rations, being slowed by them etc. rations we were already running low on too. are you feeding what could be your last meal for the week to a german prisoner? or putting two in his head and enjoying your lunch 😂 basically, it wasnt even really that they COULDNT watch them, they didnt want to.
If you want to make these even more powerful, switch out the engineers for support AA. Air attack, hard attack, piercing... Those guys will be unstoppable!
0:40 yep we were and the centure powers gave us the nickname the British stormtroopers. something we did was throw rocks into their trenches so they would not expect a grenade them we would throw one we also had the most war crimes but we as Canada don't talk about that plus they weren't war crimes yet. we also invited the nail grenades'
With the Canadians engrossed in the great safari the Americans couldn't use them as cannon fodder at Dieppe so the Americans threw their full weight into that port rather than Normandy
It's really expensive and it has now been changed that you have to research actual rocket artillery in the artillery section, a 1940 tech, before you can research motorized rocket arty.
I do think that paradox should add focus trees for the Scandinavian nations, but after that they really need to refresh the commonwealth nations cause they are so much less interesting to play as while there are so many other options. Most of which are much closer to the battlefield
This same strategy works great with the Baltic states (particularly fascist Lithuania), as they get good research buffs for trucks and a designer that makes them dirt cheap. Though going Left-Left in mobile warfare does tend to work better than superior firepower in my experience with mechanized armies (particularly when you've got low manpower)
For speed and org perhaps but raw stat wise superior firepower is better. It depends though if you’re going for “pushes” or “encirclements”. Push through denser areas of superior industry enemies, superior firepower. If other smaller states, wrap them with speed
Ngl I tried this at least 12 times with zero ability to match what you did… They de buffed Canada hard it seems as I can still sprint to the mech but it’s not that effective. Soft attack has been halved it looks like and motorized arty is locked behind not 1 not 2 but 3 separate arty research trees… I can get mech before 1939 but impossible to get the arty before mid 1940’s By that time your mech units will get curb stomped by Italy and Germany and can barely punch through a 2 thick infantry divisions… Stack 8 units fully equipped against a 2 stack of infantry and watch your army get depleted… It’s honestly aggregating AF as Canada can’t do shit unless you abuse the mech but the mech is so utterly useless now that if you put all your focus into it you’ll have a strong looking thin sheet of glass
'Not going to need a navy' ironic considering Canada had the third largest navy at the end of WW2
More steel for mechs
I do like to put in a few cheap destroyers into the Red Sea and leave them convoy raiding, lots of dead convoys with no cost in Canadian lives.
Your name is quite sus🤔
Third biggest because everyones elses navy was blown up
Not really an achievement when the only reason you have it is because you didn't use it in the war.
im a canadian and i am happy that our lord and saviour stakuyi recognized us. you are one of the best hoi4 youtubers out there
