Saw this band play in front of like 40 people in Houston in 05...I bought the album that night at the merch table and all these years later it is still one of my favorite albums of all time. 23 years old...now 42...man how time flies.

This song...takes me back to a time where I was in love with a man that I was certain would never love me back...imagine my shock when he came by to borrow a book, and this song was on...we talked about this song for over 4 hours...and then he told me he'd always loved me....but life had pulled us apart....and how if he had a fighting chance, he'd be with me forever.....3 years later, we're married and making our own Stars and Boulevards....thank you Augustana for bringing 2 imperfectly perfect for the other together!

I remember the first time I ever heard this song. I was 17. It was calming.
I was in the midst of getting caught up in my future, parties, road trips and other things.
It was different than the 70s, 80s, 90s rock/metal I was into at the time.

Looking through my old stuff...found this album along with another Augustana CD; I forgot how much I used to love these guys and their music. Years later, both albums are still great and severely underrated! I will never get over it.

This is what passion and amazing song-writing can give the world.
In fall of 2006, I was moving back to Massachusetts from Virginia after finishing my time in the Navy and spending a little over a year as a civilian. This song was on repeat as the sign that moving home (near Boston) was the right choice. It was a difficult time...I'd had my heart decimated twice in sthe span of a year and a half by 2 different men that I'd thought I'd spend my life with. Career plans had fallen through and I was in a difficult spot financially. I made the decision to move home to my family in MA with a heavy heart as I would be leaving all of my friends behind. One friend asked me a very difficult and thought provoking question..."Are you running toward something or away from something?" We both knew that it was the latter and that question has haunted me for nearly 20 years. I wish I had stayed and found a way to make things work. I moved out of MA 6 months ago, this time to SC to be closer to family, but after luring my mom and me down here, she betrayed us and left us homeless so now I'm in another situation where I'm in a place I don't want to be and I want to run. I don't know where, but hopefully the next time I leave a place I'll actually be running toward something better rather than running from something painful.

How could this song be so old ... seems like yesterday I was listening to it for the first time. Still love it like way back when.
Throw whatever harsh words at each other, but it doesn't make this band any better or worse. They are great the way they are, but the only thing they lack is public attention. One of very few heart-felt bands left. They just need a little publicity, no big stunts.
Can't wait to hear more.

Dang, this brings me back to my high school/ college years when this album came out. Even though it was only 15 years ago, it now feels like a life time has passed. I think we all look back with wonder as our lives pass by.

What i don't understand is why people are so upset about Harry saying he likes this band. So what if people are here because of him. They are still here listening and enjoying the music.
