  • Thanks to you family, things are going the way that they should. I do value what you all comment and say. If you take the time to comment, I think it’s only right to take the time to read and reply. With the latest recommendation of taking the pallet boards off the floor and elevating them like my front yard pallet deck, this video came about. Hopefully this demonstrates the importance of doing it right the first time!!

    I would add planters on the tops of some of those, it's a great place for flowers or even herbs.

    I agree; I should've done mine right the first time too! LOL! I'm going to go back and do it right this spring - thank you for the video! We used a total of 16 pallets for our deck so I have to get ready to lift those things to put down the landscape fabric and also the concrete pavers for leveling.

    Am currently in a rainforest, where it rains daily...camping on mud, and hard lava rock below it.
    Will definitely need weed blocker here, and some kinda wood sealant or some marine varnish or something, in this environment

    We really think you're funny!!! We actually hand been building a pallet deck as well and we have ours up on cement blocks as well because our backyard floods like a swamp. We, well really my husband, felt your pain he hated leveling all the bricks especially in the Louisiana heat. Keep up the great work can't wait to see how the cup holders turn out and the stain/ paint job!

    My local Homebase done something similar to display barbecue sets on and plastic sheds. Combination of rolls of fake grass on top and decking boards to close off the sides of the sides of the pallets. Pallets screwed in together to connect each one.

My deck is large and low to the ground I already put pavers beneath it to level it ou when I was trying to figure out how I wanted it to lay! I wish I had put something down for the weeds and bugs. I think I will get something since I will be moving them to stain anyways. might as well do it right I want it to last as long as it can!

    Man I love ur attitude!! I just got 4 pallets and I think about getting 2 plywood panels to lay on top of the pallets for a simple deck. I plan on putting weed prevention fabric and pavers for balance. Thoughts/suggestions??

      Thank you kindly. I love your desire to build with pallets!! I think using the plywood will give you a clean look if that’s what you looking for definitely want to go with the fabric and pavers elevating it off the ground! Also, use so form of sealant to protect the wood beyond it being heat treated.

      Great Questions, the pavers were 12" by 12" and I did not attach the pallets together! These were heavier pallets that had no chance of moving!

    Hey..yes its hard work...your doing a good job...it would be nice if your were able to get some help with lifting those heavy wooden pallets...I have a question what are you going to do about that tree that was strategically rotated back to your garden by that good neighbour of yours... I have no idea of what tree it is......

      @@THEJONESFAMILYCHANNELI agree it wont be in your best interest to remove the tree... trees are good for the planet unless they are messing with your house foundations or other....the trunk seems quite flexible so you could probably guide it to hang over your garden with strong wire near the top of the tree and attach it to a stake of some sort to prevent the overhang ...or relocate ..I have just watched a video of how to relocate a much larger established one see "Truly Tropical".....

      The way you spell Awesome is awsum... lol. No the pallets are heavy and stay in place! Moving is not a problem, making sure they are water sealed is the objective!

      Kool, thanks for responding . I'm currently working in a pallet project myself.
      A fence , about 90' long. 2pallets screwed together in-between posts. Sitting on a 2" × 3". For hight. Then I'm going to use an "old farmer's trick" as stain.
      Used oil and diesel fuel mixed and sprayed on.

    Hi I just came cross your videos. I am planning on doing a music stage for my husbands retirement party June of 2023. I want to know why did you remove the boards on the small garden in the front of your house instead of just using the pallets and lays sheet rock or some other larger boards on top going in a different direction that the pallets for more stability?

      First off you are awesome for doing this for the party!! What you’re thinking would work well putting a board on top of the pallets. I chose to only use the pallet boards for the project so that’s why I did what I did.

    U should've used weed barrier fabric, screwed each pallet together with deck screws, used extra boards as fascia boards, sanded it all down with a belt sander, painted or stained everything before putting the furniture back.

      Mostly outside of storage container warehouses. They usually are by the trash cans!

    The American flag is the wrong way. It hangs stars first then stripes.
