1996, Huntington Beach, never forget the morning in May, I woke up, sat straight up in bed, opened my eyes to look at the tv I had left on the night before and caught the tail end of a news ticker running across the bottom of the screen. All I saw was ...and Sublime, found dead in SF hotel room. I scrambled toward the tv and waited for the ticker to cycle back, all I saw was Bradley....and I smashed the power button on my tv and stood there blaming the television for telling me such heartbreaking news. I was 25 then and not unlike 90% of girls my age in southern California, was IN LOVE with Bradley Nowell. It felt like I lost the love of my life and to this day, like seeing these clips of him performing Boss DJ especially, I love him no less than I did in 1996. I listen to Sublime whenever I listen to music. Everyone knows my choice of music is mandatory Sublime no matter where we are. Bradley, you are so deeply missed. Your loss cut through the hearts of people like me who although we never met in person I still consider you one of my friends. Love and miss you so much, Bradley.
Same here. I was living with my friend who introduced me to Sublime in 2009 along with a lot of other bands like Tool, Alice in Chains and Metalica. We were 17 then and always had our friends over drinking, getting high and driving around doing dumb shit kids do. For sure the most fun times I've had in this crazy life.
Was just revisiting 40 oz this morning, an album that takes me straight back to the best days of my life, college in the late 90s, I don't think I'm the only one that has a very special place for sublime and Bradley's voice and lyrics.
Absolutely best days of my life, too. It's what I imagine heaven will be like, riding my bike down to the south side of the pier in HB at 6:00 a.m. to watch the surfers.
Dude helped me get through a dark time in my life, forever grateful that even though I was born in 1999 my parents made sure that I knew what real music was💯🙏
Same. I was born in 98 and I have the sublime sun tattooed on my forearm. They got me through the death of my father. Still my favorite band of all time to this day.
Sublime was the soundtrack to my life with my late husband. He also died of an OD like Bradley, was a musician and LOVED Gwen and No Doubt. Bradley and Eli, both gone way too soon. So much to still give to the world with their talent. Rest in peace. ❤
This man taught me how to sing! I sang all their songs until I reached the correct pitch . Forever grateful and I will forever sing your signs! RIP man
So many summer days spent soaking up the sun, skating with the homies listening to Sublime. Now all my friends from back then moved on or passed. You touched so many lives Bradley and your music will live on forever but those precious moment leave too fast. You left us to fast Brad. I wish i could have met you, he would have been an awesome friend. He died the year i was born 94'
There's nothing like having listened to Bradley's beautiful voice and Sublimes, well Sublime music 🎶 🎵 ever since I was 9 years old to now being 37 years old and still living it jyst the same, more even.
Heard em when I was 14, in '95 for the first time. Within a few months he was gone. I bought the whole catalog, everything. Sung covers with a small band and geez, it defined my culture, my heritage, my spirit! Felt as sad as loosing Bob Marley when he left us, but thank GREAT GOD for allowing a beautiful spirit to share his story with us. Much love to Brad ,Bud and Eric! They created a genre! I hope I get to meet these guys in Heaven
I love that Bradley has given shout outs to my cousins band Skankin Pickle back in the day. He loved them. They were all in the same music scene at the same time.
He always found a way to shout out and even incorporate music he liked into his own style. So many old songs I heard later on and was like, "Hey, brad used that sample. (Or random artists quote)"
A lot of partying in the 90’s to early 2000’s bumping Sublime in Southern California. I’m from the same area as Sublime called the Harbor Area and 47 years old and still have memories of good times every time Sublime songs pop up on radio or hear someone bumping in there car.
Rip Bradley. I smoke a joint and listen to 40 oz to freedom every single day on my way to work. I just always end up feeling upbeat at the end of it. I hope everybody has a great day!
Bradley’s voice for me is the ever as well? I remember being 12 and I took this cd from my brother that was 6 years older and it opened my soul to sooooo much music. Sublime is still one of my favorite bands and my love is endless for music. He hit my soul. Fills my soul. Shares it also
Still my fave since way back my daughter is 12 and starting to understand them and falling in love as I did and will always be rest your soul and a blessed happy bday my guy.
Bradley's music got me through a lot. Still is getting me through a lot. The one person i never met that i miss as if i did personally know him. My soul recognizes

I think your the biggest sublime fan on planet earth
❤
@YickemDartheriousIXV we all are. As much as it hurt others, I named my first born Brad Nowell. True story. 🌞 ❤️
Worst day ever. Kno every word to every song.
@@xkimikimjax7768 Yep, and they never get old - I will never get tired of listening to Sublime. Ever.
Still straight up listen to Sublime all the time 25 years later. I’m 42 now.
I'm 27 and I've been listening my whole life.
It's one of the only good things I got from my pos dad.
Same here. I'm 43.
Same. 42 and have jammed Sublime since I was a teenager. Never stopped.
I'm 39 and same
It's awesome to see his boy Jakob carry on the Sublime legacy at Coachella. His dad would be proud! Rest easy Bradley
I swear to god i have seen afew videos of him performing and he really embodies his dads legacy.. it made me so happy
Saw them live couple days ago, the band is in good hands
Miss you Bradley!
Sublime will shine forever!
It's crazy how Jakob claims he doesn't think he sounds anything like his dad 😅
Is he singing for sublime now?
I'm 42. Sublime are the best band in my life. Bradley you are missed
I’m 43. Didn’t wanna love sublime but they were the biggest band at my high school. I wept when he passed. My dad passed the same way!
You're not the only one but You're the best Bradley!
Bop bop
❤❤❤❤
I'm sure there are many many Bradleys that arent druggie fucks who put drugs before their children.
Poh! Poh!
Boa boa
His voice takes me to a time in my life I never want to forget.

It reminds me of the best era of my life
❤Man...this band makes me forget about so much bad shit. Makes me happy. Nothing but love.
I respect this man for his music 🎶 nevertheless he seeked his reward! And found it..
The groove yes, but the lyrics can get very dark and dirty. Badfish for instance is about introducing a new person to IV herion
Badfish is about drinking, hence the name @@realcrazyeight

I grew up with Sublime. They were like me and my friends, even dressed and looked like us. We lost Brad too soon.
I'm 66 and I skate my half pipes down here in southern Mexico to this great music, he does have the best rock voice ever!
Nothing but love for Bradley.
Awwe, Sublime. It was the soundtrack to the last good generation.
