    I think this is great for the bike industry with trek and cannondale putting out bikes to compete with direct to consumer prices. These prices will help push other manufacturers in this direction to stay relevant in the price wars

      Thanks for the showcase! I put this bike on pre-order at my LBS earlier in the year when they announced it, and it should be in very soon. I like Cannondale and am super loyal to my local shop, so this was by far the best bike I had to choose from in terms of price/spec/performance. I also like basic industrial looking colors so the raw finish suits me just fine. I have one of the last of those first gen Supersixes and paid a little over 3K USD for it when I bought it new in 2016. That bike came with 11 Speed 105 mechanical, aluminum bars, pretty awful Aksium aluminum wheels that eventually broke, and a very heavy, uncomfortable saddle. It was and still is a great bike, and I've taken care of it so it rides great even after nearly 40K miles. While $5500's expensive, by comparison I get a carbon aero wheelset, aero carbon bars, a higher tier groupset, and a decently better saddle, plus actual proper aero tubbing on the frame itself, so at least as far as modern bikes and modern pricing are concerned it's a decently good deal. Also, did you happen to make note of the bar width and stem length included with this size?

    In Europe this one costs 6799€ and as Hi-Mod 8999€. Compared to a 5499€ Canyon Aeroad SLX with DT Swiss ARC 1400 and a powermeter included. It seems the markets are a bit different. The Cannondale is still a nice bike! A friend rides it 1x with a Classified Hub in the back in teal color. A really nice setup and when your'e riding behind him, you definitely notice that shallow seatpost!

    US based riders are really REALLY ‘lucky’ to be able to buy this Evo2 with latest Shimano Ultegra Di2 for only USD5500!
    Since this exact same Evo2 model is sold in Europe for a whopping EUR6799/USD7435, 25% more at almost the same MSRP as the Evo1!
    While the Evo1 with comparable SRAM Force AXS eTap installed is equally priced in BOTH markets. It remains a complete mistery why-o-why this is not the case for Evo2.
    Anyway, nJoy this steal of a deal in the USA for Evo2 as long as Cannondale continues this difference in pricing strategy and resulting MSRP between the US and Euro markets!
    Besides, nice review of indeed an excellent clean aero bike for the prize and cool dark matte 'Raw' paint-job too, yet nothing “new” for Evo2 in 2024 imho. Since its specs ánd paint-jobs are and were the same for 2023 too.
    FYI I testrided the exact same Evo2 in Deep Teal last September as possible replacement and loved it. It's a fast comfortable bike to ride which handles great and is a joy to look at in any color.👌

    Cannondale also offered deep price cuts on it gravel bikes, in Canada, on-line. They sold out and were shortly no-longer available. I think they were just trying to cut their losses, as their previous owners, Dorel, sold the brand (as well as others). I think there was a very real risk of the brand disappearing, and this is their attempt to get back in the game again. I like the geometry on their endurance bikes, but they are hard to find in Canada. I've also heard that some do not like the ride feel of the system six, but don't know why exactly.

    It’s crazy how much bikes are and it’s mostly due to the wheels and groupset.
    The only way the market will change is when people go directly to the China to get the frames

      not only that the grousp are holding a lot of that price and there is no one in the space to chalenge the big 3 in group prices

    • @jcsrst
      @jcsrst Год назад +1

      The only potential "low end" part of this build is the carbon spec. Unless you're racing you don't need the high modulus carbon. Everything else about the bike is mid to top tier components.

    Looks like The Aeroad SLX has some competition because bike is selling like crazy! W for Cannondale. I would recommend changing the wheels. 45 or 50mm would be nice with some GP 5000 or Corsa tires on it. I would put a Arione R1 saddle. The same one I have on my CAAD12.

    this fork painting. Is like they produce random fork and just randomly assembly to the bike. This colour line should follow on rest of the bike.

      @FlorianAbrahamson Год назад

      I just meant they are meant for full mechanical shifting, so basically no use for those holes in them. Which means they were cheap to source some 5 year old handlebars. Also those seem like the wrong type of bars for the people its aimed at. @@GCPerformance18
