Adding Individual Faces to Football Manager 2020

- This is something I have done personally for a long time, now I get to share it with y'all! Adding individual faces can help you complete facepacks, add life to regens/newgens, and even better organize your team.
This guide walks you through what you need, then how to apply it to easily add images in the face section of the game skin. FM20 is going to have a new look after this one.

I am having a problem. I did install the custom regen faces, they work well, but as you said, one guy from Africa was white so I wanted to change that. I made everything you said in the video, dragged a photo from the regen pack, changed the name to the player's id, made the config file but it won't change his picture... Can anyone help?

I followed all the steps including troubleshooting and the regen facepack still takes supremacy over my new face with xml file. Any other troubleshooting steps you know of?
EDIT: I figured it out. I had to move the files in my "custom faces folder" up one into the "faces" folder. Weird how the having it in that extra folder layer messed it up but moving it worked immediately. Leaving this up in care it helps anyone

The 'black hole' faces are the worst ;( i've managed to change those faces using your regen faces pack (thx!!) but when i save actual pictures, horses or otherwise, despite the save menu saying 'save as jpeg' the file is saved as a jfif file (an alternative form of jpeg i'm told lol). When i reload the skin the pics dont appear despite being created in the fm xml file successfully ;0
I've tried resizing and renaming etc but no luck, also i notice the picture files in the regen facepack are png files, what formats and size are required exactly? Have i just been unlucky with the pics i've tried? I know nothing about graphics files as you can probably tell ;) UPDATE; now sorted it, the problem appeared to be with pics saved from google images ;))))

I cant change my regen faces. I took your previous guide and installed them all, copied others in another folder, renamed them and put it in fmxl , but they wont change. Any advice?

I followed this but on FM21. I did everything you said, and none of the facepacks added. Is anything different for this latest version of the game?

Hello Zealand.
I'm trying my darndest to actually get my youngsters their proper images.
Seems that the youngsters on my team (Manchester United) are not in the DF11 megapack (unlikely), or I've done something incorrect (very likely).
I have followed this video to the letter, tried the fixes mentioned in there and in the comments below.
The only thing I could think it was, was the fact that I have used different skins than the original, but after changing skins back to the original, it still doesn't work and I think I will have to go to the step of uninstalling and re-installing FM 20 and try again if you can't assist :)

I think creating the config file got rid of all my other downloads even though they still have configs and the player picture i added didn't work

I followed every step perfectly but when I reload the skin it does not change the players picture. I thought maybe because I was on Mac I was doing something wrong when making the XML file, but I opened up the file and the code is exactly like the one you show in this video.
So I really am baffled as to why it won't work.
So I can have a goat pic for Messi?

Killed me. Lost all current faces but have ONE Regen face. How do I have all?
@@ZealandonYT I added one face. To a regen. It then removed the config of all my face back pictures. So lost now haha
I'm trying to do this for a stadium. My club just built a new stadium and I have a picture that I want to use instead of the generic one. I've followed these steps and I'm having no luck. What folder should I copy the photo to in order for this to work? Or is this only good for faces? Thanks for any help.

I followed exactly what you said and the two pictures that came up were completely different to the ones I selected haha. Any advice?
FM Base I put two pictures into a file and copied the ID and it came up with 2 different pictures 😂
I have tried everything and followed your instructions to the letter, but the faces are not showing up. I have the TAD20 skin installed, could that be the reason. My other downloaded face packs however is working. Need help please

what if there is no graphics folder
Is there a way to apply this to a created manager profile, e.g. changing the manager profile picture to a selected picture, I have tried doing It the way it was shown above but it hasn't worked, yet the image works if I apply it to any other player
Once I upload the face packs into the game, will they impact any previous save games???

Sadly it doesn't work for Mac, you can't find your folder and you cant drag and dropthefolder in
FM Base the problem is not that I can’t find my files (it’s btw in your library for anyone wondering, just go to your finder press the option key -> click on go and then library and then application support)
No my problem o literally cannot find this folder with the config creator program and it’s kinda impossible to do ( or at least I don’t know how) so sad they changed there folder this year, on past years it was so was to find
FM Base ye for the Mac version you need to browse for your folder you can’t drag and drop it and this folder is only visible if you hit certain keys or commands and in the browse window you cannot do this sadly and I don’t know if there is a workaround (would be really stupid if not but I googled and couldn’t find one). They only changed the location of the fm folder this year into the hidden library kinda dumb
FM Base ye I was wondering this aswell but didn’t want to try it was a bit scared and I don’t really know how I should make t he game read the files from a different location I simply lack the know how, still thank you for your Regen face pack I really love that and it works like a charm

FM Base only reason I wanted to do it cause I got your Regen face doc and it’s really amazing and i just signed a random African player in Ligue 2 and it’s my first ever 200 PA player like wtf but he has a face like Dudley from Harry Potter 😂 so I wanted to change it but I guess joe Dudley is my 200 PA player 😁
Hey mate ! Thanks for the advice, though I cannot make it work.
I succesfully installed the DF11 data base and it is displayed without any problem. But I can't add any other faces, and I tried pretty much everything!:
- clearing the cache multiple times, unselecting what you advised to
- resizing the image to the exact same size as the DF11 pictures (and put them in PNG too)
- I even tried to replace one working image from the DF11 pack with one of mines, same size, same ID, to see if that'd work, but the concerned player simply got his image deleted once I refreshed, Deleting my picture and putting back the DF11 one worked perfectly though.
I loosing my mind on it so any clue would be greatly appreciated :D

@Fire Music Yep everything is placed properly, I even got the whole DF11 packs installed and working well (both faces and logos). Thanks for your answer though :)

Do you all know how to check the chairman and board IDs?
The easiest thing to do is manually edit your config. You can also add new faces. just open config, copy one of them and paste, change the id number. Done.

I cant find graphics anyone knows why?
Hey, I've got a problem with adding a picture into my game. I made sure I deactivated caching and pictures of generated player, also, I used jpg files. Those are the problems I could think of:
-For some reason, I had two folders named Sports Interactive. (I played fm2017 before). None of the two had that graphics-Folder. I created it myself, but maybe there is a problem about that. I put the fm2020-graphics-Folder into the "Sports Interactive"-Folder that contained the fm2017-graphics folder.(only one of the two Sports-Interactive-folders contained the graphics-Folder for fm2017) The fm2017-graphics folder only contained one FMF-file.
-I also tried to put in a photo to a player I created myself but did Not save him in the created players-Folder. Does that make a difference?

@@ZealandonYT i guess the main problem is to get faces that are in the same cut out style in a large amount. i wanted to add some faces through the config but realised the faces i wanted to add were already in the pack xD
I'm on Mac and I'm using your regen facepack, tried to change one of my boys' face cuz he is Beninese but his pic looks like an old Scandinavian. I tried to replace it with another pic from your pack, but my game still loads up the white dude. Have any thoughts why that may be?
@@ZealandonYT It is actually not, I managed to fix the situation by text searching (inside the xml from your pack) the ID of my future left-back, and deleting the line that assings him the old face, so now ti works. Thanks for the reply anyway, much love.

@@theperformancelocker744 Enter the 3.ag megapack folder, scroll to the bottom, you should find an xml file. Open the file then press Ctrl+F, input the ID of the dude you want to make a surgery on and press enter. It should highlight the line that assings him the face you want gone, then just delete the entire line, save and then reload your skin. Should work

idk why im responding, but in fmXML make sure to select the folder, not the image itself.

Ooookies my friend...a bit of advise...take it or leave it. I was watching the news, one ear and eye on that and one of each while my Daughter followed your...errr...tutorial on this vid. Although I appreciate what you are doing and so does my Daughter, who wanted to do it her way, without Dads advise, you are far too longwinded my friend. My Father used to say "why use 200 words when 20 will do and in the long run will be far better to understand." I am a Computer Programmer and you were confusing me! So pass what you do to those that are not in the know and so averse. By the time you had gone all around the houses, I had lost the thread as to where you had been. I could see the confusion (and boredom) on my Daughters face, so asked her if she would prefer me to explain, which she gratefully accepted. All the while I was explaining, she was saying "why didn't he just say that, instead of all that beating around the bush?!" What took you 16.24 minutes to explain I did in 4.17 and according to my Daughter was much easier and simpler to understand. My advise...Practice your tutorials "before" doing it on here, so "you" are 100% sure you know what you are doing, without having to go over it 2-3 times, less yap, less confusion...less boredom, more of an attention span from the peeps trying to follow you, culminates in more learning. :0)
The irony, writing an essay to say "you are too longwinded" is just... it's great

Glad you liked...My long-winded diatribe took me about 70 seconds to write, how long it takes the individual to read, I guess depends on their ability to grasp it all. But even that has to be quicker than the 16.34 it took to do the final take on vid, not to mention it being a complete waste of time as it was totally inaccurate, completely ignored the rules within the game, proved nothing and was far too jumbled to enjoy, but hey-ho :0)
