So thats how they got the off model on Hotel Transylvania to do so freakin much. This then goes on to seed the ability for Red or whatever the tanuki movie was
DreamWorks, in terms of 3D animation technology, deserves most credit for what they did for Shrek, Shrek 2, and How to Train Your Dragon 2. In Shrek, they made leaps and bounds in terms of animating water in 3D, in Shrek 2 they perfected animating hair properly in 3D, and in How to Train Your Dragon 2, they perfected animating 3D muscle that moves realistically as if it has a legitimate skeletal structure. All three of those movies contain a scene specifically put in showcase the technology, in Shrek it's the tournament scene with the beer, in Shrek 2 it's the opening scene where Prince charming lets his hair lose, and in HTTYD2 It's a close-up of Erot's muscles being gawked at by Ruffnutt. Also, they definitely deserve credit for kickstarting the modern trend of 3D animation purposely being stylized to look like another, the work they did on Flushed Away and how they made the film look like it was entirely animated with clay is quite impressive and came out almost a full decade before The Lego Movie. In terms of character movement and fluidity, I feel like Disney deserves the most credit for that, Tangled was an absolute game changer in terms of 3D animation and I feel like the entire industry owes a debt to it.
I use to have the originally Madagasgar DVD as a child. I loved that movie as a kid. As a child, I would love when they included blooper stuff and what not in movies. In the Madagasgar movie bonus stuff, they included so many bloopers about the 3D models and them doing wacky stuff. It was fun to watch.
I understand they want a revolutionized CG but the more I see them struggling to do digital like 2D exaggeration, I just think, why don't you guys just draw instead?😮 I mean not disrespect to digital artist but man I'm just hurting for some traditional animation.
Back then it was all about what they wanted the movie to look like, they wanted the movie to look 3d with higher details, hence moving away from 2d animation, even though 3d animation was still just as long to do back then. I do agree that there is an oversaturation in 3d animation in the present day because of how far that technology has come, it faster to make and more cost effective then 2d animation is and most studios don't view making 2d films "worth it"
Because they don't have the work pipeline for that, the pipeline for 2D and 3D animation is very different, that's why Disney doesn't do 2D anymore either, they got rid of the other working pipeline and most workers and replaced it with a pipeline that is intended for 3D.
@@WhateverOwO yeah I'm familiar with their new direction. It's why the Newest Mary Poppins film needed traditional illustrators back as the use of CG was ill fitting to the film and didn't rest well with test audiences. Had to have been an awkward day to call the retired artist back for one more gig. 😂
Ruby Gillman is just the latest and greatest box office failure DreamWorks had as of now, but pretty much all of their box office failures are not even bad movies, wich makes it more shocking when they do fail
Pixar is struggling with same problem now. They spent last decades polishing realistic look of their films and had to invent a ehole ass separate process just to make visual humour of "Turning Red" more cartoonish, without making it look creepy.
Hey so the footage of the original video you took all these visuals from only has 150 views The video is called : DreamWorks Masterclass: Kendal Cronkhite
i like how people talk about bad animates films and im the only one that didnt cared about the script and only was paying attention to the animation details
I can’t move it move it 😢
Lol
Some nerds gonna respond with the crying laughing emoji
😂
😂
i see what you did there 😏😂

Lmao that movie was called Turning Red and it was a red panda
Turning Red was made by Pixar.
Hotels movement was insane
It's Turning Red and that was by Pixar bruh 💀
Bruh…
I thought this dude’s voice was AI but the kraken part shattered my whole worldview 😭😭😭
Ok but he really sounds a bit robotic so I think there's something behind the scenes we're not seeing
That fake Discord ping was evil.
I don't even have sounds on for discord but i still checked my notifications for a split second
I was wondering about that sound since my discord is empty.
Dawns concept was way better than what we got, might’ve watched the movie then
I hope one day Dreamworks and Tim Burton team up to make a stop motion and cgi
ALEX THE T POSING LION WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN MY CAR

Ah yes the "Digging For Gold" Animation.
Her pullover is very tripppppy
I’m almost 100% certain that woman talking is my childhood friends mom 😅
So THAT’s how Dreamworks got them to move it move it
The heck is going on with that lady's sleeves??? Why does she look like a real life texture glitch??????
The A.I has started forming opinions. We're cooked.
but the tongue could just be your typical bone animation…

Also none digital 2d animation was painstakingly difficult to make
Also people like 3d art and animation
Ruby Gillman is just the latest and greatest box office failure DreamWorks had as of now, but pretty much all of their box office failures are not even bad movies, wich makes it more shocking when they do fail
It's so disappointing their going to be outsourcing their animation now :(
Here's an idea.... if you can't do cartoony style animation with 3D models maybe....... make a 2D cartoon.
"DreamWorks"
*Proceeds to show elastagirl*
Whoa whos the girl from the start, she’s lowkey so pretty
It’s a cartoon you fucken loser

This is cool and all but unfortunately you putting the discord notification sound instantly earned you 1 dislike
The wild robot mentioned
I almost accidentally kissed my friend while watching that movie
Name of the character on top of hiccup's father when the video was showing multiple characters?

Is the first girl in a movie? She looks familiar but i can't put my finger on it
Do you remember something you most likely had no idea about hence why im making this video in the first place?
I wana make a cgi joke hut like I can't think of 1 someone say something in replies and I'll edit comment to that.

I'm gay.
The previous statements are true, and very gay

What r these replies? 🗿
Who's the girl in the beggining
It's amazing how you'd think something so small as a half second animation would be so complicated
So it was Madagascar? The video does make it clear at all, I don't know why you'd go out if your way to omit it like that, it sucks
And they moved it to reg movies . And now they all look like cartoons 😐
The kraken movie was good 🤷
If you want an animation to look like 2d why not animated 2d
Because dreamworks is a 3d animation studio, not 2d
Wait who’s the woman in the first scene from
❤
F u for always putting in Notification sounds in these shorts.
This doesent seem real
