When did everyone stop improving AI? Did anyone play MGSV? Did anyone Play FEAR? There are existing models for these things that can work extremely well!
MGSV? dude just because the AI can see you that don't make them clever, if they were anywhere near smart you wouldn't be able to progress in the game, the idea is always to make the player playing the game smarter, they probably have the ability to make AI much much smarter but that would not make a good video game, you cant play the super soldier action hero in games if every enemy is on your level. As for fear, yeh it was great at the time, have you gone back to it today? go ahead, go back and see, its very basic AI doing very basic things.
Fear doesnt really have smart AI, They just talk a lot and they crafted the whole entire game to work with the AI which is why every single level is a bunch of squares. Putting fears AI in an open world setting and they would be a lot more simple because there are a dozen more type of cover and angles the player can come from. FEARS AI is nothing special.
Fear AI only works in small special environments. It was "smart" in how it was made and still holds up really well but that kinda AI doesn't work in open world areas. The more possibilities the harder it is to make an AI function correctly. Great game choice to go to tho.
Can be very fun but issues with janky spawning, and totally inept AI really hurt it at times. Overall should be ok for super fans though and not bad in the long run. Hey, Matt. As you learn not to take life as a general place to get triggered and go off (you'll actually live longer), I'll clue you into a few facets about 'adult and mature conversations' as you seem keen on the topic: -Do not strive to look for people's true intentions in stupid responses to not serious conversations. -Look for clues in general conversation to denote if people are serious. Uses of asinine memes, for example, are usually hallmarks of non-serious conversations. That's why you don't see many Defense Attorneys ending their closing arguments with "Whoomp, There it is!" -Placing a hashtag into your political message is a cue to most q'mature' people to disregard your statements. Now, I won't discourage you with your beliefs. I'm down for respect. I'm just saying pick your battles, don't try to die on every hill you see, and take things with a grain of salt. Have fun in life, Matt. Good Travels.
For me this was one of the most enjoyable games of 2018. Yes the story takes a backseat and yes the game constantly throws carnage at you. But still the way you explored the world and the openness in terms of gameplay kept it fresh. something that the other far cry games and even botw at times failed to do.
The constant barrage of overly aggressive animals in Far Cry games has always annoyed me. You can't go 10 minutes without being attacked by a badger or mountain lion. This is not a new problem. Hyper aggressive wildlife. Drives me nuts!
After just 3 hours of gameplay, I have to agree that the patrols and animal attacks are way too high! It just gets a little comical after the tenth time it happens. Still, lots of fun to play though, I just hope Ubisoft may be able to tone that back a little bit with a patch down the line without breaking the fun of the game.
It's like they are afraid of people getting bored. But it's like really loud music all the time it tends to become fatiguing. I loved that in Primal there are places which are completely calm.
Agreed. It's especially annoying when you're trying to talk to an NPC after driving there, attracting about 50 cultists on the way, and then having to kill them all before registering for a mission.
Maybe they want to cover up the times where literally nothing happens. Like in GTA V, if you just sit there, nothing will happen. If you don't make anything happen that is. I feel like for a world to be truly immersive, it needs to be a bit disconnected from the player actions and do its own thing. But yes, it would be nice if we could turn down the frequency of those patrols ^^
I recommend ACG to literally everyone I know that plays games, I wish all content got reviewed as well as you review games. Hope I threw a few subs your way!
Ill agree, the whole interrupting of conversations because of enemys is really bad. One person i couldnt even talked to. Even after i killed everything.
@@sriley064 I just bought the gold edition for like $20 on sale tonight... Story hasn't gotten spoiled for me because I didn't look it up? Like is that really that hard? And people can have a job and still not want to get pay $90 to $120 for every single new game
Your videos are an essential part of my week as a gamer. I feel like any reviewer can tell me weather they liked a game or if they believe I should spend my money on it, but you have deepened my love for games by giving me insight into what actually went into the process of making them. Really irreplaceable stuff in my opinion. Thank you!
The fact that a professional sound engineer allowed there to be THAT much echo in a voiceover (a completely controlled environment) is insane. 3:55 (the black girl in case you couldn't tell)
I can’t believe how fast you get these reviews out man, considering also playing/beating the game. I’m not putting any hate on Angry Joe but the dude has just given up on game reviews. It’s sad because when he does put effort into his videos/reviews it’s always entertaining. Thanks for always giving me and my wallet a great heads up about an interesting title. Keep up the great work Karak
1st to review means nothing. You should always base your final judgement from an array of opinions as opposed to just accepting the 1st one that comes along. People like ACG but he is a person with subjective opinions that could differ from yours on certain criteria.
I trust ACG more than any mainstream media domain and I'm so grateful Karak delivers quality, in-depth reviews so quickly. The likes of IGN who have hundreds of employees still try and drag as many clicks through as possible before the final review is finally published even if it was completed days previously by the sole reviewer.
And we are talking currently about the (almost?) worst-case-scenario for the developer, right? I mean, there has been already a MTA-controversy because of EA's extreme brazeness with Battlefront 2...imagine how it would be now, if they had not pushed that much over time. Videogame industry is fucked.
Are you thick? The damn game barely has microtransactions, or do you feel that buying in game CLOTHING in a FIRST PERSON SHOOTER is something that's going to aid you in the game? You can even earn currency to purchase the damn transaction in game. Or were you just too stupid to listen to that part? Stupid little bitch.
i love how people wont buy a game because of what one person says. i usually listen to what he says but i bought it day one and have seen zero issues with it. everybody needs to get off their gaming high horses and come up with their own opinions and enjoy things.
Played for around 2 hours, ejected it, it's gong back. Dunno what makes it a far cry game. It could of been called anything else and no-one would say "hey this is a far cry game"
William barns That isn’t true at all. That is like saying PewDiePie is the best entertainer on YT because he has the most subs and views. Popularity doesn;’t equal quality. It means the content connects with more people, but is by no means an indicator of quality. Hence why professional eSports players are constantly lower in views on Twitch than amateur players they could wipe the floor with.
Your reviews are pretty much the only ones I watch now, I really dig the depth, structure, humor and effort you pump into these videos. I was unsure about this game and you answered every single question I had, as you usually do. Thank you for your work Karak, keep it up (:
GamerCalledBen It's not like this is a Bethesda game. Bugs and imbalances happen. It doesn't sound like they're even that terrible in this. Since when has Far Cry had great AI this decade?
Noah Friscopp an easy explanation that I would pen is that the governor's religious bias is the reason why the cult is not pacified through superior government force.
Just got this for $15 on the Xbox store. My first far cry game played ever and I’m having a blast with it. I don’t normally play single player games but I can see myself playing this all the way through.
They will. Wildlands was the same way with many of the same issues. They all got fixed eventually. While I would prefer no bugs in a game at launch, it's not realistic to expect such a thing. As long as they aren't game-breaking, I can deal. Most games from most other devs are the exact same way. Skyrim anyone? That game was a bugfest at release. I can't agree with Karak's wait for sale judgement, but if you don't want to deal with any bugs, you will need to wait a few months for them to get fixed.
Ubisoft tend to be pretty good at fixing issues, they've done it with most of their games, though Ubi tend to be more on the side of "make something new that no one has done before, perform voodoo magic to make sure it works somewhat, patch any bugs later"
Yeah, I'm sure there will be a 'performance' (fps, removing adaptive v sync, etc, etc) patch coming soon for the ps pro. That's the only option I generally use. I'm actually kinda glad it's not up yet, as much as I love the Farcry series, I got Nier: Automata recently and I am tired of the buying a game, getting 40% into it, and then buying and jumping into the next big game trap-like cycle I seem to have been caught up in lately.
It's a singleplayer game, any form of payment system is absolutely insulting to the players. Should just crack the game and cheat everything you need, after buying it.
Wait for a sale is what I do 99% of the time, the only time I’ll buy a day 1 release is if it’s a game like the Witcher 3 or bloodborne, games that I just couldn’t wait to play. Great review as always.
you don't need to spend a DIME on this game beyond retail price. microtransactions are optional and on my personal experience, by just looting and completing side missions you get enough cash to get any gun you want, eventually.
I have played this game and finished it. So honestly it's definitely an amazing game. Way better than far cry 4. It has some good upgrades. And the story is great with good villains. I don't know if you should pay full price, maybe wait for a sale. This game has a lot to keep you occupied so will keep you busy with great missions.
Game $60, DLC $30, PLUS Micro Transactions $10-100. I didn't like when DLC became a charged situation, but to also have to pay for micro transactions after you already payed so much into the game, ridiculous.
Another average Far Cry game. Why can't they ever challenge themselves and try to make the best game possible? This series always feels just "good enough" and that's it. The clunky animations, gameplay and graphics are always the same old, same old. Aggh
That's why I like about it - like going to drink that beer in that bar you know is nice and good. Not everything can be made amazing, if it were than nothing would be amazing.
Far Cry - I've been a fan of this series since the first game some 15 years ago on PC. It's always been a franchise that has delivered excellent storylines, explosive action and evil bad guys befitting of a Hollywood blockbuster. The current Gen has continued to deliver this, while at times getting a tad repetitive. This is feel is the biggest challenge to FC5 and one which according to some they've managed to sieve out. Time will tell on that one. The opening segment of this game is nothing short of breathtaking. The opening of a game is very important to me as a busy husband and dad of two. The opening of a game really is what helps me decided whether I will invest the time into playing a game until it's done. Whether I will spend hours in an evening after everyone has gone to bed immersing myself in that world. Far Cry 5 had me hooked from the start. That gut feeling of excitement thanks in part to the visual presentation and of course the audible aspect. The music is on point. Like with other Far Cry games, you meet your enemy very quickly. The helicopter ride down to the compound to collect him is incredibly unnerving. I thoroughly recommend using a headset to okay this game as hearing the whispers of your enemies followers as you slowly creep past them just further adds to the nerve. The game quickly descends into chaos and you are left stranded in the world with absolutely no sense of direction or where you are headed. Ubisoft made an incredibly brave decision NOT to include a minimap which absolutely get you lost in the thick of it. Speaking of the world.... Wow. Graphically superior to most open world games they have truly captured the American world perfectly with this. From forests to highways and small towns to the mountains. The wildlife you meet along the way seems to have its own eco system. The deer in your headlights look up just before inevitably plough them down as you escape your enemies. You are truly in an immersed experience which you won't forget in a hurry. A tongue in cheek mission at the start sees you scaling a huge radio tower thanks to the instructions in your ear piece, with the instructee chuckling that he won't be making you do this all over the map. Referencing back to previous games where this was the method of opening up undiscovered areas much to the displeasure of some. The gun fire is so raw that it genuinely feels like you are shooting a weapon and once again the in game sound further backs this experience up. Downed enemies will receive treatment from their squad mates and come back from near death to further add to your plight. This game is worth every penny you'll spend for the opening 40 minutes alone. It captures the essence of being stranded from the start and I'm sure with more play and as you gather allies you'll start to feel more powerful and less abandoned. Ubisoft have hit the nail on the head of their aim was to get people hooked from the beginning and I cannot wait to get further lost in Hope County, MT. 40 minute score - 9/10
I agree, the game is even more tense and immersive if you turn off all the overkill bling bling UI, and go for a more realistic approach. The only UI I use is interaction prompts: sadly though, for some missions you really do need a bit of UI on, which breaks the immersion, as it is impossible to locate your target/objective. Overall, this game is brilliant.
The game is a load of fun. Nobody should compare it to all the other Far Cry games because they try to branch out to something new here. The main game is good but there is a load of shitty tedious shit in here. (Not even talking about the fishing here) The games forced story that makes your character dumb for easily being kidnapped every fucking hour.... The games dumb enemies for not killing you during said kidnapping.... The games forced decisions that usually result in team mates or yourself being damaged or killed by means out of your control.... You can really enjoy the game as an open world game, but as a solo movie style game...it is terribly forced. You feel disconnected from your character because even when you killed boss characters, you still feel like you lost. Its not a satisfying feeling to have been kidnapped, got severely friends killed and hurt just to kill 1 dude and have to repeat it for the next region....
I will still be buying this. Mainly because I know that Ubisoft has a long way to go in terms of AI, but I feel like they're making progress with other elements of the game. Across all their titles, they really need a better AI system, and better character models. They're also one of the few companies now that hasn't gone nuts with their cash shop bs... although it would be better if it was excluded entirely. I noticed from gameplay vids that med-kits are hard to come by, and cost $250 a piece... and most enemies drop like $9 or something. Still, I hope the entire industry shifts their views on cash shops, and this one isn't bad enough to boycott.
Seeing gameplay for this game over the last while the thing I have noticed the most is just how pathetic the enemy AI seemed to be... And unfortunately now my suspicions have been confirmed. I just don't understand this shit. There has been games with so much better AI than these current generation games for like a decade. Its like devs just don't pay attention to something that is so important these days and instead are too focused on visuals or padding games out artificially. I don't care if the AI is dumb on lower levels but when I'm playing my game on hard and I constantly see enemies straight up charging me even though they have a big ass gun in their hand, or have enemies that have me dead to Rights but instead they stand there yelling to their mates and then 9 seconds later decide to start shooting.... Yeah that's when my suspension of disbelief just gets destroyed.
Subi_fan lmao ya name’s subi fan so I’ll assume you’re twelve. You’ve obviously only played games with crap AI if you think the only way to do higher difficulty ai is with higher awareness and accuracy...
Personally I’d say this is a buy, hands down. It’s an absolutely beautiful game, and fun as hell, 100% of the time; whether your deep in the story or just blowing shit up
Due to the poor FPS releases in Q4 last year our hunger for a coop Farcry has convinced us to get this at release but I have tempered my expectations due to the previous entries.
Thanks for the awesome reviews. You don't always review the games I'm interested in but I appreciate you raising the bar on what a quality reviewers should be. I know you've had tough times with RUclips. However, you do awesome work and hope you got a long future as a reviewer. Have fun.
You are probably the only reviewer I trust. Every time I watch one of your reviews and then play the game myself, I always think, “Yeah. He nailed it.”
As soon as you mentioned frequent enemy patrols, I immediately had PTSD-esque flashbacks from Far Cry 2. God I hope it's not as bad as that was, in that regard.
i have a 7700k and 1080ti. i have it set to ultra 4k and get 60fps. though, my one change was to scale it to .9 (90%). i dont think i can tell the difference from 4k and whatever 90% of 4k is. but to have everything on ultra and 60fps... is where it counts.
I hope they paying you well, these reviews are always on point. Bought this early over the weekend and after 10 hours in I can say it's an enjoyable title, but nothing revolutionary. Keep up the good work man, love the content.
I've tried Far Cry 2,3, and 4 and didn't like them. The gameplay progression and loop always felt like busy work. A map full of objective markers to clean up. Liberating outpost after outpost. Respawning patrols breaking immersion and making victories feel meaningless. It didn't feel rewarding to me. I keep giving each new entry a try though, hoping for an improvement. I'm hoping Far Cry 5 will be good enough to keep me playing but the criticism about the AI and patrols is very discouraging. I'll rent it from GameFly. Thank you, ACG for another great and informative review.
What kind of control schemes does this game offer? I can only use Legacy/Default as my control scheme. For those that don't know, Legacy controls have you moving forward and backwards with the left control stick as well as turning left and right. The Right stick has you looking up and down and strafing left and right. If any of you could verify what kind of controls this game has, especially if it has Legacy, I would greatly appreciate it.
Glad you mentioned the microtransactions. The AI is just as dumb as it was in FC2 by the looks of things, weapon sounds seem just as arcadey too, explosions have nice particles though. Waiting for a sale is probably the best thing to do.
Far Cry 5 Pros & Cons --------------------------------- Pros: 1.Great graphics 2.Great story 3.Fun gameplay 4.Very unforgetable antagonist as always (like Vaas Montenegro & Pagan Min from the previous games) 5.Beautiful setting 6.Pretty long game 7.No Radio Towers (it was nice in FC 3&4 but they can't put that in every game) 8.Huge open world Cons: 1.The main character has no personality (no name, never talks, very forgettable) 2.Too many enemies & car patrols 3.No crafting 4.Skinning animals only gives you money (and a little bit of skills perks) 5.No skinning animation 6.No mini map 7.It's not that easy to get money (the game forces you to do boring prepper stashe's quests for extra cash) 8.Very messy game (there is no order to the story missions) 9.Some story missions feels like side missions (or just not that connected to the story)
You can craft. You can still get quite a bit of momey doing other activities. No skinning animation is a pro because it got very repetitive especially when you killed a group of animals that ambush you.Same goes for searching enemies. This is coming from a person who played the hell out of far cry 4 and now im playing the hell out of far cry 5 and enjoying it
Beautiful setting? Shocking... It's probably the most boring and lackluster setting that I've ever had the displeasure of experiencing in a video game.. I'll literally sum up the setting with 3 words : Trees, farms and rivers.
Farcry Arcade alone is worth full price to me. Ive already seen people make great horror maps and Battle Royale maps and shit. Its pretty much endless content and the single player is just icing.
Midnight release for me on PC, I surprisingly was able to Max it out on my SSC 1060 running at 1080p. I'd rather have it maxed and 1080 then lowered and in 4k..
far cry 5 needed to be the Assassin's Creed Origins of the franchise. Something new, fresh and awesome. I won't buy because it just looks like Far Cry 4: America.
ITS FAR CRY 4 BUT NO TOWERS ITS FUCKING PERFECT (and also planes, helicopters, pet bears, comedically better characters, and having bears be stuck in helicopters)
This is literally the only unbiased review I've seen, and I've watched and read at least 7 other reviews. Definitely a '"Wait for Sale" game. Thanks for the detailed review!
I just find them to pretty much have assassins creed and cod problems. Each game just feels wayy to much like the last. I had to force myself to finish 4
As soon as i actually play FC4 and Primal, that have been gathering dust in my library for eons, i'll get this, i figure it'll be $20 by then too, just like FC3, FC4 and Primal were when i bought them :D
EQOAnostalgia just finished far cry primal a couple of months ago and far cry 4 today lol, i wont be buying this anytime soon, looks like a re skinned far cry 4.
games decent for 20 good details, audio allright,I'm pretty much decided all game companies that pump out 1 yearly I wait for game sales and just play what genre I'm truly into till then.
Very nice detailed reviews. An actual complete review unlike IGNs half finished, biased, and short reviews. Though you mentioned gun sounds, would've been nice to actually hear a quick sideshow of each weapon type being fired or some, with and without Supp. But subscribed anyway
Sounds like a Buy to me! As long as they patch the problems up (which aren't anything drastic in the first place) I'm not seeing too many issues that bother me. I'm in for the *FUN FACTOR*! Side Note: Anybody else remember when Gamepro (or EGM) used a similar system to this and had those faces with the spiked hair if it was a 4 or 5/5? Thanx brother you ALWAYS give the best review. I bought Technomancer because of your review and I enjoyed it!
Picking this up on ps4 right now for 15 bucks. Watching this as its downloading. Love far cry 4 and primal so hopefully I'll have a good time with this.
This is the best far cry imo. The map is the biggest in the series and the graphics are amazing with the Xbox x. Some gameplay are new and the mechanics are still the same. I started playing it at first 1pm and haven’t turned it off yet please buy this game it’s amazing
Damien Weirdo idk if you've finished it at this point but i dont think this was best far cry. No crafting system and the spawning system is kinda bs lol. But the worst thing is the ending man. Stop here if you havent finished. The ending just suck. You dont get that satisfying ending after all the shit you went through.
At least there’s no shitty tower puzzles and you actually have to explore the world to get quests and reveal everything instead of them overwhelming you as soon as you open the map.
I've lived in Montana since 2007. I've never played a Far Cry game but holy cow they captured the wilderness perfectly. May have to start a let's play channel for this guy.

In my experience in Montana. Walking around with a .308 rifle is pretty normal there.
Joshua Radick i lived in Blackfoot, Conrad, great falls, Missoula, and Shepard montana and yeah it's nothing out of the ordinary lol

I really liked the pros and cons list at the end
Yeah he used to do that a while back and then he stopped and now i guess he's back at it
The font was super hard for me to read lol i had to pause the video
The constant barrage of overly aggressive animals in Far Cry games has always annoyed me. You can't go 10 minutes without being attacked by a badger or mountain lion. This is not a new problem. Hyper aggressive wildlife. Drives me nuts!
In 'far cry' yet you fail to include animals from any other far cry game. Brilliant, really.
In Far Cry 4 they could have made it so that a higher karma level decreases the chances of wildlife attacks.
Jacob H i don't mind it, kind of gives you a sense to watch your back or you'd get eating by a bear😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
There is a perk that affects Animals Fleeing and make them prioritize enemies over You, as well as Reducing incoming Dmg from wildlife.
i like it. its a part of what makes a far cry game and far cry game.
After just 3 hours of gameplay, I have to agree that the patrols and animal attacks are way too high! It just gets a little comical after the tenth time it happens. Still, lots of fun to play though, I just hope Ubisoft may be able to tone that back a little bit with a patch down the line without breaking the fun of the game.
ya its very odd
It's super annoying. I just kill one car and then two more show up...
Hope I threw a few subs your way!
my thanks
Ill agree, the whole interrupting of conversations because of enemys is really bad. One person i couldnt even talked to. Even after i killed everything.
ya its odd
I always wait, I got Primal for $7 one year after release.

The story is absolute shit anyway lol

Your videos are an essential part of my week as a gamer. I feel like any reviewer can tell me weather they liked a game or if they believe I should spend my money on it, but you have deepened my love for games by giving me insight into what actually went into the process of making them. Really irreplaceable stuff in my opinion. Thank you!
thanks man
The fact that a professional sound engineer allowed there to be THAT much echo in a voiceover (a completely controlled environment) is insane. 3:55 (the black girl in case you couldn't tell)
The Steven Seagal Suppressor System Housing (SSSSH) is patent pending and set to hit the market early next fall just in time for the DLC.

ACG = Review
Everyone else = Review in progress
1st to review means nothing. You should always base your final judgement from an array of opinions as opposed to just accepting the 1st one that comes along. People like ACG but he is a person with subjective opinions that could differ from yours on certain criteria.
I trust ACG more than any mainstream media domain and I'm so grateful Karak delivers quality, in-depth reviews so quickly. The likes of IGN who have hundreds of employees still try and drag as many clicks through as possible before the final review is finally published even if it was completed days previously by the sole reviewer.
Lots of people do not get the game a week in advance like he does.
John-Paul Hunt Just ignore the microtransactions. They are completely unnecessary.
Achtung Karek talks fast, thinks fast and acts fast.
They're pushing the micro-transactions a little harder every game, and it's like no one even cares anymore.
Yea this game’s a no buy for me. Microtransactions do not belong in a full priced title.
Noone cares. Because its awesome. Only poor people dont like them.
The Stowaway wtf r u talking about. Like y r u complaining about micro transactions in a single player game. Ur just another nagging little bitch
Played it for a few hours, loving it at the moment
Same here ive been playing it coop with a friend and having a blast.
i love how people wont buy a game because of what one person says. i usually listen to what he says but i bought it day one and have seen zero issues with it. everybody needs to get off their gaming high horses and come up with their own opinions and enjoy things.
Played for around 2 hours, ejected it, it's gong back. Dunno what makes it a far cry game. It could of been called anything else and no-one would say "hey this is a far cry game"

One of the best game experiences I've had
You are the best video game reviewer on this site. Thank you.
Piano Man - Piano Covers
Fancy seeing you here. You make great covers, dude.
100%
Angry Joe is better
Piano Man - Piano Covers if he was he would have millions of subs and views.
Thank you for your work Karak, keep it up (:
thanks dave
Just picked it up for $15 hopefully worth it
Fun review. Sounds like it'll be enjoyable after some patching.
GamerCalledBen Where have you been? No AAA releases are bug-proof Day 1.
GamerCalledBen It's not like this is a Bethesda game. Bugs and imbalances happen. It doesn't sound like they're even that terrible in this. Since when has Far Cry had great AI this decade?
Game sounds fun as is without "patches".
EvolutionOfMe to each their own
And lastly I hate multiplayer versions, Especially the story is Fascinating and you know it changes a lot of gameplays.
Does it explain why the National Guard doesn't just come in and lay waste?
They're busy building Trump's wall.
Noah Friscopp an easy explanation that I would pen is that the governor's religious bias is the reason why the cult is not pacified through superior government force.
The House Always Wins considering this takes place in Montana and the NG is state funded not federal. This is an impossibly poor reason.
I heard throughout the game you realize the outside world is in turmoil or something bad is about to happen wink wink “nuclear war”
They make a deadzone at the start of the game i heard. IF that's true i could believe a 24hr-48hr response time if the game took place over that long.
Just got this for $15 on the Xbox store. My first far cry game played ever and I’m having a blast with it. I don’t normally play single player games but I can see myself playing this all the way through.
Hopefully the issues get patched. Very good review as always 👍🏻
thanks
Sellinga I really recommend that you finish Automata.
seems like its more important add paid skins than having a proper AI
MarcoLoves360gamer You can also get the skins with in game money...
CinemaUnited But not better AI
Then why the fuck can you also pay for them? They really don't want you to spend in game credits on them
It's a singleplayer game, any form of payment system is absolutely insulting to the players. Should just crack the game and cheat everything you need, after buying it.
People that defend microtransactions make me mad.
Far Cry 5 actually has well written characters, a story, and the gameplay helps the story.....Assassin's Creed could learn a thing or two
Assassin's Creed is a great game now
@@djfrost5420 well I'm not sure about odyssey
I knew it! None of the other reviews bring up the spawning issue, felt fishy that noone's giving this game ANY bad points at all. Thanks.
Love the jacobs latter reference...not many modern day gamers will get it but us older gamers who love the horror genre too get it.
the devs on this team clearly failed on AI development, they should learn from devs of Assassin's Creed Origins
Wait for a sale is what I do 99% of the time, the only time I’ll buy a day 1 release is if it’s a game like the Witcher 3 or bloodborne, games that I just couldn’t wait to play. Great review as always.
you don't need to spend a DIME on this game beyond retail price. microtransactions are optional and on my personal experience, by just looting and completing side missions you get enough cash to get any gun you want, eventually.
imicca agreed, I haven’t wanted to spend any money on the game because you can literally find tons of silver bars everywhere
Sounds like i should wait till the "GOTY" edition includes all DLC plus Far Cry 5 v1.6
Pretty much always the best option for any title imo.
ACG reviews are the only reviews I need :)
Regardless how the game plays, you can have a pet mountain lion and you can pet it.
*1000/10 best game*
I have played this game and finished it. So honestly it's definitely an amazing game. Way better than far cry 4. It has some good upgrades. And the story is great with good villains. I don't know if you should pay full price, maybe wait for a sale. This game has a lot to keep you occupied so will keep you busy with great missions.
Game $60, DLC $30, PLUS Micro Transactions $10-100. I didn't like when DLC became a charged situation, but to also have to pay for micro transactions after you already payed so much into the game, ridiculous.
This game isn't worth it at the $13 I paid for it. This could be a good game if I could actually play through the first driving scene on hard mode.
cfcreative So youre just bad...
Can’t wait to play it! I have a soft spot for this series despite all of its flaws.
i just recently started watching your game reviews and have to say you really do an excellent job.
Not everything can be made amazing, if it were than nothing would be amazing.
weses2 Minimal effort, maxim profits. Blame the consumers for not rising their standards.
Far Cry -
I've been a fan of this series since the first game some 15 years ago on PC.
(Not even talking about the fishing here)
The games forced story that makes your character dumb for easily being kidnapped every fucking hour....
Mitch H looks just boring overall
Subi_fan lmao ya name’s subi fan so I’ll assume you’re twelve. You’ve obviously only played games with crap AI if you think the only way to do higher difficulty ai is with higher awareness and accuracy...
You don't understand how hard it is to program a balance. They could easily have the AI shoot you between the eyes instantly

I think you should have mentioned the wonderful gospels specifically recorded for the game. I was amazed that they went those extra 10 miles!
Well, it is from ubisoft.. id probably try to poke it with a stick before anything

Just to confirm, the game is beautiful looking and the weapon play is quite good.
The game looks amazing but the gunplay... meh

You are probably the only reviewer I trust. Every time I watch one of your reviews and then play the game myself, I always think, “Yeah. He nailed it.”
You should do a 'Walking the walk' on this game! I love that series! Thank you for the review. Love from Korea
As soon as you mentioned frequent enemy patrols, I immediately had PTSD-esque flashbacks from Far Cry 2. God I hope it's not as bad as that was, in that regard.
i have a 7700k and 1080ti. i have it set to ultra 4k and get 60fps. though, my one change was to scale it to .9 (90%). i dont think i can tell the difference from 4k and whatever 90% of 4k is. but to have everything on ultra and 60fps... is where it counts.
very cool!
I hope they paying you well, these reviews are always on point.
Bought this early over the weekend and after 10 hours in I can say it's an enjoyable title, but nothing revolutionary.
Keep up the good work man, love the content.

No other channel matters. Let’s be honest. NO BS. Just real
"Wait for a sale.."
Just buy this at half price in six months. Plenty of great games out there to play in the meantime.
Great review as always brother. Looking forward to buying it now that I have a proper review. Stopped pre ordering stuff a long time ago.
appreciate it
Lol @ 3:28. Enjoying the review. Good work once again!
"dont let the AI drive anywhere". Halo Reach Legendary Solo run-through flashbacks. bahahahahaha (i still hate your driving Kat!!!)
I feel the same way. So what's been your experience with this one?
123456gordon the gun audio isn't great but it's preferable to the pea shooters in Grand Theft Auto.
Or you could just wait a few weeks for such issues to be patched. If you wait for games that have no bugs, you'll be waiting forever.
Played it intensely for the last 2 days, and have to say it's one of the best games I've ever played, and I've been playing games since 1982.
Thank you for taking the time to post this review. Very helpful! :-)
Far Cry 5 Pros & Cons
---------------------------------
Pros:
1.Great graphics
2.Great story
3.Fun gameplay
4.Very unforgetable antagonist as always (like Vaas Montenegro & Pagan Min from the previous games)
5.Beautiful setting
6.Pretty long game
7.No Radio Towers (it was nice in FC 3&4 but they can't put that in every game)
8.Huge open world
Cons:
1.The main character has no personality (no name, never talks, very forgettable)
2.Too many enemies & car patrols
3.No crafting
4.Skinning animals only gives you money (and a little bit of skills perks)
5.No skinning animation
6.No mini map
7.It's not that easy to get money (the game forces you to do boring prepper stashe's quests for extra cash)
8.Very messy game (there is no order to the story missions)
9.Some story missions feels like side missions (or just not that connected to the story)
No mini map is totally a pro.
The character you play as I admit is a little meh but you can create your own personality to your self
For number 7, hunting gives you mad cash.
@@arieson7715 Is It Still worth buying?
Anyone else sick of plans constantly spotting you and ruining missions or your free roam?
This is literally the only unbiased review I've seen, and I've watched and read at least 7 other reviews. Definitely a '"Wait for Sale" game. Thanks for the detailed review!
"NO no no this is not what you think! I will not have you climbing towers all over the county" Priceless!!
Been waiting for this. I’ve always been skeptical of Far Cry since after Far Cry 3.
Johnny Hills III same here I haven't played through a full far cry since 3
I've haven't played far cry at all
I enjoyed Far Cry 3 more than 4 but I did like 4 and Far Cry Primal was something different and for the most part it was a fun game
I just find them to pretty much have assassins creed and cod problems. Each game just feels wayy to much like the last. I had to force myself to finish 4
Far cry 3 was fantastic tried 4 barely could even get into it. This one looks different.
How deep a sale are we thinking, 20% off too little or just about right?
When are we going to get Far Cry: Blood Dragon 2? Seriously?
agreed
The creator of Blood Dragon recently left UbiSoft. By the looks of FC5 Season Pass that will be the closest we get, sadly.
Honestly.. don't even waste your time playing Primal.
VOTV I liked FC4 much more than 5, mostly for it’s interesting/varied locations and story. There were certainly gameplay improvements in 5 though.
games decent for 20 good details, audio allright,I'm pretty much decided all game companies that pump out 1 yearly I wait for game sales and just play what genre I'm truly into till then.
Karak is on fire this week! Nice going man!
I was half way through another "big" name review - turned it off and here I am, again.
Thanks dude.
sure!
I totally agree. It gets way too chaotic sometimes and the enemies are like never ending.
Series peaked with FC3.
Video games have become so sad lately. I don't know why we're accepting this as an adequate game.
I prefer Primal although one boss is a major pain the ass because she can take arrows like there is no tomorrow.
Thumbs up for the Jacobs Ladder mention.
Very nice detailed reviews. An actual complete review unlike IGNs half finished, biased, and short reviews. Though you mentioned gun sounds, would've been nice to actually hear a quick sideshow of each weapon type being fired or some, with and without Supp. But subscribed anyway
I'm really hoping ACG will do a walking the walk for Far Cry 5 soon.
Sounds like the same old same.
Aaron Nichols Really surprised he didn't discuss that aspect more considering that seems to be the majority of people's issues with the series
Aaron Nichols because Vaas dropped a nuke at the end of the game
At least there’s no shitty tower puzzles and you actually have to explore the world to get quests and reveal everything instead of them overwhelming you as soon as you open the map.
Angry Justinian how is witcher 2 same as 3? 2 wasnt even a real open world game
Isnt that the case with all multi-sequel games? No shit
Will you do another rating if they do a major patch that changes some of these problems with the AI?
You're a bloody workhorse Karak. Thanks mate!
Sup brother see you on discord
