Thank you so much. I had a bad ground and it has been intermittent.. I couldn’t find where it was and you saved the day. Been chasing it for over a year
Good intel. My ABS was intermittent for weeks then solid ON. Brakes were squishy at the very end of braking. Figured it was air in lines or speed sensors. Ground was really bad. Cleaned up and no more ABS light, brakes no more squishy. Thanks!
My Lb7 in mid July just all of sudden, showed, "Service Brake System ", and it wouldn't let me accelerate, as soon as it was done with 1st gear it would go to Neutral, and show "Range Shift Inhibited ". Checked grounds, tcm at back of trans, speed sensor at transfer case, checked ohms on hubs and what fixed it was bleeding the brakes. Right rear caliper let out a bubble. All is good again.
Not sure how to make it much more clear. The camera never cuts when I look under the truck so it shows exactly where on the truck I am looking under. One is under on driver side just behind the front fender and the other is on the driver side behind the bumper.
Folks reading this..while the sensor is out...pump 5 shots of grease in the sensor hole, rotate bearing, repeat that 5 times..you bearings will last alot longer! Your welcome!
I have a 2000 sierra 2500 6.0 and my speedometer stopped working (before it used to jump up and down a little and on bumps) but it completely stopped and now that it stopped my parking brake light stays on or flashes and it started shifting a little hard and turns off in reverse and sometimes when you come to a stop what could be the problem? I dont have much money to replace parts that I dont need
Taking the wire wheel to the surface where the sensor goes is a bad idea. First off it's very unlikely to fix anything, but more importantly you just blasted a bunch of junk into the wheel bearings.
Actually, the GM paper that comes in an OEM replacement ABS wire/sensor SAYS TO SCRUB-CLEAN that surface (and grease-lube the flat surface and plug with o-ring, too). Correct, you should block this off first...but the gunk on the surface HAS TO GO!!! (and can fault an ABS signal, otherwise)...the sensor RISES as a result of water and gunk, and can cause an 'excessive gap' that the sensor can no longer 'fire across'...lesson to be learned: CLEAN AND GREASE THAT SURFACE AND O-RING!!!
I used a scanner and got CO238 wheel speed mismatch. So im thinking it shouldn't be the 60 amp fuse or the abs module right? I did just replace the module too. Still stuck with the lights on, going to get new pads and abs wheel sensors this weekend I'm hoping it fixes it.
So replace front end with new parts ....going forward it’s fine and peachy....went in reverse then the front left wheel grinds and binds left causing resistance. Abs and trac light are on... I’ve researched it could be locked up brake caliper, second opinion helps...
Your not kidding about the lock tight . The use it like its wd-40 or they got stock in it. Every part I put off on mine has some . What was that tool you used on the abs sensor?
Thanks for watching! That tool is a cheap 90degree ratcheting screw driver that I picked up somewhere. Didn't think it would last one job, but it has come in handy for years. 🤷♂️
Maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree here then... My ABS and brake light are on and I don't really care about either of those systems I just want my cruise control to work...
Why don’t you just scan the code instead of guessing ? It’ll point you to the sensor shitting out. Cleaning the two ground points is a good idea and free. Usually though the warning lights turn on due to the abs module or wheel speed sensors. Thanks for the video.
I would have if I had the expensive abs code reader or if the dealer didn't charge $200 to read it. Also I'm assuming others watching the video will not have the correct code reader. The standard obd2 readers will not read the abs codes. Thanks for watching!
You didn't point to the second ground well. You just took your camera straight from the first to the second. We need perspective. Where, relative to the truck itself, is the second ground?
Do these wheel sensors actually go bad or is it just the rust that lifts them open causing a loss in reading. Doesn't seem like much could go wrong with a magnet in plastic.
It's actually a 22mm for the caliper brackets is all metric. You could edit out a lot of your procedures and just get down to brass tacks i wanted to clear my lights not get a "how to do a front break job"
Cool, make your own video, since you have all the answers on how to make the perfect video. Or, just keep your mouth shut if you dont know how to say thank you. There is a fast forward button too, 🤡.
@@mainelytrees4666 did changing the fuse make your abs active? Im having this problem and im pretty sire its the fuse but i dont want abs brakes, they suck, but i also hate seeing that dang red brake light! Lol
Bro tengo una Chevy 2005 2500 6.6 duramax , andaba tirando el agua , pero después le tenia q poner agua ya todos los días , detrepente se me apagó, y ya no quiso prender más,.
I checked all my fuses checked and cleaned all my sensor and all my sensor plugs and it is still doing it it only used to do it when it was wet outside and stop now it’s constant it makes my speedometer jump and it acts like it wants to run away when I put it in cruise and kicks off my cruise control any other options
This sounds more like a problem with cruise control, not the ABS. I would start by testing any sensor that works with the cruise control. Find a Chevy truck forum online and search to see if anyone else has had the same problem.
Thank you so much. I had a bad ground and it has been intermittent.. I couldn’t find where it was and you saved the day. Been chasing it for over a year

Thanks for the video man. Getting right to the work just helps explain a lot. Definitely one of the better DIY videos
Thanks, and thanks for watching!

Crazy computer driven systems! Thanks for the comment. It could help someone else out! 👍
soft pedal too or just lights on dash?
Only lights on and cruse control wouldn't work with abs code throwing.
Great another ambiguous ground location video. Hey, is that 2nd ground in the back of the truck.was hard to tell. Please
Are them abs grounds are in the same place on all 2005 Chevy Silverado’s ?????

Does the truck have two front and two rear sensors ?

Skeeter knows. I've even had to adjust sensor gap with shim washers on a hub in the past.
Wrong
Great video bro 👍
Great Video thank you.
Thanks for watching!
You should grease all those area you cleaned for electrical contact to prevent the corrosion from coming right back.

C Smith wheel bearing
Wheel speed mismatch would probably be a bad wheel speed sensor
So replace front end with new parts ....going forward it’s fine and peachy....went in reverse then the front left wheel grinds and binds left causing resistance. Abs and trac light are on... I’ve researched it could be locked up brake caliper, second opinion helps...
I'd just have to take that side apart and inspect. Could even be that you got a bad or incorrect part.
@@J20Jeepster thank you much appreciated

Same for gmc sierra 2500hd 2004?
so it fix it or what??
i think it just makes it so you don’t have abs brakes or traction control, but as far as i know these trucks didn’t have traction control anyway
So you only did 1 side? Or all 4
Just the two front.
Great video.

Not really I had the same light on and it was none of the things I thought it was turns out it was my ignition switch was bad
U can buy a cheap on from Walmart 👍🏿
@@J20Jeepster paid almost $700 for mines due to separated systems. This a scanner you won’t find in stores.
my code reader gave no codes 🤷♂️
Can you still drive it tho even if the lights are on?
It will still drive, but you won't have abs or be able to use cruise control.
Mine has both these lights on plus the check engine and cruise control still works 2006 Sierra
Leonardo M. I dont think it would pass inspection where i live, NY
You didn't point to the second ground well. You just took your camera straight from the first to the second. We need perspective. Where, relative to the truck itself, is the second ground?
I hit a deer and now when I'm driving the abs and parking break light start flashing
Sounds like a wire to your ABS sensor got damaged or disconnected.
Same thing just abs came on
what size bolts are the grounds mines full of rust i just dont want to strip em thanks bud for the vid
ja c It would help if you mentioned truck make, model and year.
Alot easier if you remove the caliper from the brake pad holder bracket. Then you can clean an relube your pad sliders and caliper pins.
Do these wheel sensors actually go bad or is it just the rust that lifts them open causing a loss in reading. Doesn't seem like much could go wrong with a magnet in plastic.
,
I need help knowing where the other end of tje ground on the frame goes please
Usually taking them out and cleaning them will fix the issue.
mine comes on when braking hard or accelarating wtf is going on??
Mine does the same exact thing. Did you ever find what it was?
Mine too
Probably low brake fluid in your master cylinder reservoir.
Love that ratcheting bit driver , what is it or what his it now mad this video is a hit old.
To crack the bolts loose Use a floor jack to push the wrench up

It's brake not break. The pronoun "I" is always capitalized and not"i" - see what happens when you cast stones.

I would have gooped up that sensor with sparkplug boot grease.
lol i tried all of this and guess what? it turned out to be a bad fuse, lol silly me
Troy Gavett hey what fuse was bad?
Oscar Macias the 60 amp fuse under the hood
@@mainelytrees4666 did changing the fuse make your abs active? Im having this problem and im pretty sire its the fuse but i dont want abs brakes, they suck, but i also hate seeing that dang red brake light! Lol
Bad wheel hub will cause tose lights to turn on have it checked before your wheel comes off
So took the abs sensor out and put it back in. What was the point in that ?
Checking for corrosion at mount that can lift the sensor out of range.
