I own it and it is for sure dim. I had to use Dolby bright instead of dark, which I usually never do, but the picture is an improvement. Also, that steelbook is worth the price alone.

I watched it last night and thought the overall picture was on the dim side and lacked punch/detail. They didn't have the negative to work with, so this is the best it's going to look.

Looks like an improvement, but maybe not that simple? Some shots looked dim and subdued.
