I'm not quite retired, but I'm disabled. Just over 2 years ago, a delivery van with big metal bumpers hit my car and pushed it backwards. I have video evidence showing I had nothing to do with the accident, my insurance told me to take my car to their garage. The garage then informed me that my car was unroadworthy and needed a lot of money spent on it before they could start the work on the body of the car. I asked them to return my car and I sent it for an MOT, which it passed. There was nothing wrong with the car, so I asked if I could send it to a Bodyshop of my choice, and they said yes. However, while trying to find a Bodyshop that would do insurance work, a taxi driver hit my neighbour's car, pushing it into the rear of my car and causing a lot of damage. Again, I had video evidence showing I had nothing to do with the accident. I informed the insurance about what happened, and they said to take my car to the Bodyshop I had chosen for both repairs. The Bodyshop sent in a quote, but then the insurance started to delay the process and wouldn't tell the Bodyshop to do the work. They also doubled my insurance, classing the accidents as my fault until the repairs were done (how can they charge extra when no one has been paid out). As the insurance had no intention of fixing my car, I sought advice from the ombudsman and citizens' advice. Despite the video evidence, they both told me I didn't have a case.
What is the point of insurance? If the insurance companies refuse to pay out.
The insurance still hasn't fixed my car to this date.

Change your insurance company, it costs more as you age, specifically after 80, but no issue if you’re prepared to pay inflated charges. Include a younger member of your family who has a clean licence as an additional member, it drives the cost down. Did this for my dad who is 91, I’m on his insurance being 66 with a clean licence. Price dropped £1000 per year, also worth limiting your mileage to say 3K ie 60 miles per week. It all helps.
Brilliant, thank you. The insurance price algorithm thinks is more clever then us but that is simply not true.
My grandson is a bus driver so classed as professional he’s only 18 so would make my insurance go up but give it a few years and I might be asking to add him on mine. I’ve often wondered what insurance it costs the bus company because his own car insurance is ridiculous.
60 miles a week 😮 I'm lucky if I can stay under 900 miles a month.
The increase in uninsured cars on our roads over the last few years reflects what is going on in order to remove people in general from owning a car and having the right and freedom to travel and move about freely. And will no doubt lead to further increases and the use of insured vehicles. Combine that with Labour's planned fuel and road duty increases over the forthcoming 4-5 years, only the very wealthy will be able to afford to own a vehicle.
The labour/wef return to the "privileged class"!
I wouldn't mind so much if there was a realistic, reliable affordable alternative. For all the green, eco babble there hasn't been much of an effort to improve public transport.
The only trouble with that is a lot less taxes to pay for their vanity projects.
Conservatives and Labour .... Only difference between them is one starts with the letter C and the other with the letter L.
I'm also currently with Markerstudy, who made me victim of an insurance scam last year. They have a 'policy' where if someone accuses you of hitting their vehicle, and photographic evidence deems that it could have a tiny percentage possibility of happening then they say it did! I wrote to the Ombudsman pointing out that this practice violates the prime base of law, where they're saying that you're guilty until proven innocent!! I'm firmly of the belief that ALL areas of administration, including the Ombudsman, are simply tools to enforce long-term Government policy. After pointing out the basic human rights relating to this aspect I'm still waiting on them for a decision ..I'm not holding my breath!
As mentioned in other posts, it’s soft expulsion of people off the roads , government don’t have the balls to do it directly. I’ve just been through the insurance/ fraud/ con , I’ve moved into the middle of nowhere yet my ‘ premium’ was almost the same !

We are taxed to the hilt on just about everything from the day we are born to the day we die (and after with Death Duties). Corporations are as guilty in many ways. My own vehicle insurance doubled last year without any reason other than the insurers know they can get away with it because it is illegal (or, as Starmer might say, "irregular") to drive a vehicle without insurance. Everywhere we turn Government and businesses are take, take, take. These immoral creatures couldn't care less as long as their pockets are full of other peoples money.

There seems to be some bias towards the elderly which in some cases I agree with, but in the main most elderly are careful they don't drive without their seatbelts on they chat to their friends on their mobiles or race down the outside lane with road rage or with a larger in their hand or both!. In my opinion, the people in their so-called "White vans" early in the morning who seem to be always late for work! and love to tailgate drivers in front. UK GOV statistics between 2016-2021 show that drivers 70 and above contributed to 3% of accidents as opposed to 24.5% combined Male and female. I have had an accident-free driving life having driven vehicles in the army, and company cars with a driving certificate from ex-traffic police for excellent driving and observational care to other drivers. I drive a powerful BMW and drive a 9-seater disabled minibus verified with the DVLA at my place of work. My car insurance was £325.00 for fully comprehensive cover with a maximum no-claims bonus, so I searched around and found LV Insurance which was offering cheap cover for pensioners, they quoted 1,500.00! I am now with the RAC which doubled my cover with no other choice. I agree that there should be an alternative insurance setup strictly for pensioners subject to a medical and eye test with an observational drive out under all terrains at a fixed fee by a registered examiner to stop these rip-off insurance companies from penalizing the competent pensioners on the road today.

@@RogerRamjet-t4q I realise that but the costs have risen astronomically. Once you hit 70 you no longer count, it seems. In fact, things start to deteriorate physically a lot earlier than people think!

YES. I have personal experience of being refused insurance due to age of over 80 despite being with the same insurer for many years. There are sites available (still?) on line but the cost is double on average to what was paid previously. The bottom line on this is that if this becomes normal then single people who need their car to go to the shops to buy food may have to fall back on the state.
Here is the real problem Richard. Its people like you. You haven't got the guts to advise people how to push back the state when people like me contact you and tell you examples of how they use our law to push back the state. You make many videos highlighting problems but refuse to offer solutions. I, and others, have written to you explaining how I have 3 times stopped police assisting bailiffs who were attempting to use legal warrants to enter houses. I use the constitutional part of the Criminal Law Act 1977 section 6 which requires lawful authority to force entry into houses. People such as Tommy Robinson and Julian Assange use hugely expensive barristers who dare not use the constitutional Bill of Rights Act 1688 to prove that freedom of speech is sacrosanct. They end up in prison, probably because they are doing so much public service that they do not know of our real law. You know of the real law but all you do is to make videos highlighting people's genuine fears without offering them solutions. I despair.

My cousin has bad schizophrenia yet psychiatric hospital still let's him drive .clown world
This is a brilliant idea to create new insurance companies and upgrade ones that could take on millions of elderly and new drivers whom are greatly penalised because of their ages , I love it , we need to do it 👍
Richard you are well aware of the power of the birth certificate Bond as listed on the New York Bond Market! As the police and other corporate bodies self insure against all claims made against them. With the power of the Bond behind us we too have that power to self insure! All we have to do is take control of our bond!
I too have just received a letter from my insurance broker saying they can nolonger offer "Standard personal lines of insurance" since many key insurance companies have withdrawn from operating via brokers! This is due in part to the very high level of claims and the nature of these claims where EV's are involved. Such as the Luton Airport fire, the North Sea ferry disaster where hundreds of high end cars were destroyed, etc. etc.
Note from the initial picture in the video that this old fella drives his car correctly, with BOTH hands on the steering wheel and in full control, which is more than can be said of many younger drivers who spend much of their time fiddling with the damned touch screen when driving and often do not even have their eyes on the road! Leave the elderly alone and let them get on with the remainder of their lives without carping at them with every opportunity.
Haven't been down drove road for ages even slept there one night lol lal💜🙏💜🧙♂️
My mother is 86 and has driven from 14 years old. She is so good behind the wheel that I am more relaxed with her than anyone else I know. She can park anywhere in a split second with no assistance and has never had an accident. Her insurance is high but thankfully she can still get insurance. It would be a travesty to take away her license. Ah but thankfully she is still running a company so maybe we do it that way.
Last generation sold this country out, good riddance. And the weak need their petrol carriages ? My heart is barren of sympathy for that also.
There is age discrimination every way you go. We asked for the 0% credit deal on an expensive mattress and were told as hubby was nearly 70 it might be refused, which initially it was, apparently the computer said no but the second sweep by a human said yes. We had the money but if it’s offered why not. Hubby still works and the International Crime Syndicate are happy enough to tax him.

Well, if we have to stay in 5 mile zones, who will need a car? 🤬
2 new ways to get you off the road. One cant afford to drive and so they dont because they are an honest person. And for those who will drive without insurance, they will eventually catch up with you and take your licence that way. They never stop.
I’am 71, and my online company insured me without any problems and it wasn’t any more expensive. I’d need to check the social domestic and pleasure classification but I never had any notification that it would change in anyway so can only assume it stayed the same.
I have social, domestic & commuting insurance with a company called Go Skippy who have their office near Bristol
No disrespect ... but boy o boy do they sound dodgy 🤣
The problem is Richard many people refuse to accept that they are unable to drive safely at advanced age I’ve witnessed it in my group of friends It’s dangerous
Yes true, but it doesn't mean they should make those that are still compos mentis suffer because of it.

To open up your own insurance company you need at least 1 million sitting in the bank to get a licence extremely hard to do for private😅😮
No , I am a x HGV license holder?, retired now. My driving throughout the years have seen many car drivers driving like zombies I am a law abiding citizen driving a car today. I'm very cautious too.
A lot of older people also live in rural locations with poor public transport. So by making insurance expensive and difficult they are likely making people move into the towns and cities. Killing 2 birds with one stone....
If nobody will insure the over 75's, how are they supposed to get to work?
After all, the government keep raising the retirement age so they'll probably be still working.
It seems to me that instead of putting up with this expensive nonsense, the private conveyance operators ought to push back. Instead of playing this game any longer, just carry on en mass without insurance. Remove all the ridiculous number plates and refuse to hand any more money over to anybody. Let's see how they cope with millions of travellers exercising their right to travel freely along the highway.
It won’t be millions, it’ll be tens of sovtard cranks and they’ll sweep them into court with no trouble at all

This battle is going to go on for another 20yrs...
Put your property and savings in a trust, buy an old banger and bollix to 'em
And they wonder why so many people drive without insurance. 🙄
Young drivers just has bad ,What I see on the roads .
So that explains why my insurance was being doubled?! We did manages to get it down a good bit by shopping around. Now, we do have others cars in our house hold which I am insurred to drive; but not to go to my place of work. Which means if, for any reason my car is off the road, I cannot borrow my sons cars to go to work. It seems a bit silly that I'm 'allowed' to borrow my sons car to go for a jolly but not to go to work in. 🤪
Insurance is the biggest crime against humanity and they work / owned by banks.
But you’ll happily claim against someone else’s if they injure you
Owned by the banks are they? Odd that 4 out of the 5 largest UK insurance companies are publicly traded companies so with a mere 3 minutes checking your statement was shown to be one you just pulled out of your backside because you wanted that to be the case.
You really think that is the biggest crime agains humanity? You are even dumber than the guests on here, and that's saying something.
All roads lead to the banksters via Blackrock State Street and Vanguard mega corporations.
@@Dutchy695 You don't actually know what Blackrock and Vanguard are do you?
The fact is that the elderly have less accidents than any other age groups. But apparently as in nature they are the easy meat that the predators are after. I am seventy eight and ride a motorcycle , I was supposed to get a medical at seventy five , which is a problem as I do not do doctors and look after my own health. Since I have never been stopped by a cop when out and about , i will not be doing anything different any time soon.
Clear case of Ageism. Isn't that unlawful discrimination?
They should just tie a rainbow flag on their ariel ... I'm sure that will get their insurance quote lower. 🤣

As a driver of a historic vehicle, I recently came up against “the underwriters insist”- in this case that I had another vehicle before they would agree. As it happens I do, but why is owning another vehicle their business? If you only had one they may not insure it.
I suspect this ties in with driver monitoring with vehicles reporting on you, and affects your insurance.
