As an American who lived in the Philippines for 30 years, your experience in the Cebu airport was not bad. The discomfort and inconvenience could have been much worse. I speak from experience.

Cebu Pacific is an airline that truly sucks. Many issues and controversy with them regarding delays. Try PAL
started with ya'lls first video and binge watching all em... having to live vicariously through you guys as my wife for one would never sleep in an airport lol

I wish that my wife could sleep as hard as Kara does! It's kind of amazing how she sleeps through anything. If my wife hears our 1 year old sigh in bed in the middle of the night, she wakes up.
I know that you experience in Cebu is not that fun, but I hope you could return to the Philippines and visit more places here. A number of foreign vloggers even chose live here. I hope you could consider it too.
I'm catching up on all of it now. I love the growth. I love the couple; the mutual respect that we all look for. I love the "we are traveling for a year" which turned into what it is today! I've been watching for about 2 years, but watching new ones in real time and trying to catch up to old ones. To only pray for a marriage as strong and comforting as this (yes, even as you carry the canoe).

That’s what you do in airports , waiting in line . You will have more experiences especially international airports . Yeah , it’s not free in lounges at the airport. If you fly first class it’s free... I think he asked you to pay terminal fee , that’s normal in airports. Because you are saying bad things about paying terminal fee 😂 some airports they add the terminal fee with your tickets
agree! you havent really travelled unless you have lined up for a ridiculous amount of time, as well as slept on the airport floor for 8 hours before being allowed to check in and then after as well, no lounging.
I love that 2 weeks into travelling you say you’re only travelling for a year. 7 years later …

I've heard that the terminal fee at least at Manila's international airport has already been removed. But they probably added it to the airfares instead which is the common practice in most countries. I believe they also plan to implement the same in all the other international airports in the Philippines.
I would be great in Singapore as I'm always obsessed with food too. I am enjoying living vicariously through your trip. You seem like sweet people.

Actually that yr. 2016 Siargao is not yet fully develop. I recommend to go back again and see the improvement on that island. Aslo try to visit also palawan, boracay and so much more. Philippines have a hundreds of island and beach. Try to go back and do some research for the great and best spot.🙂

most Philippine (domestic) airports doesn't have lounges except for International Airports like Manila, Cebu, Davao, and others.

Nate that's why I can't fly on small planes or anything but first class or business class I can't even go to many of the places you guys go because I'm a little over 6'6" tall with a 60 inch chest everytime I try all I hear is were sorry Sir your shoulders are too wide or your to tall for economy class.... blah blah blah!!! You guys are super lucky you can....

I watched many of your more recent travel vlogs and now I’m watching your first ones and must say that judging by your experience I think Philippine is my least favourite so far.. I’m sure there are some nice places but nothing so far seems to be tempting. But as you say-“that was an experience” ;)
they didnt go anywhere in the Philippines. They went to 2 islands. There are over 7,000 islands in the Philippines
a little better planning and you could have avoided much of that filipino airport nightmare (but the lounge in Cebu looked good 😜)

I feel your frustration Kara and Nate, especially the long ques just to get a public transportation. I'm a Filipino but I'm experiencing a reverse culture shock since I lived overseas for more than 3 years. But thanks for sharing all your videos, it's helping me re-adjust my life back here in the Philippines! Keep posting! :) Like your videos!

talk about a death trap the tyre on that bus it shouldn't be allowed on the road did you just say your boarding a 4hr flight without any food or fluids, surely that's illegal not to have at least fluids on board a flight for that length of time because of the dehydration factor that comes into play on long flights how can this airline be allowed to get away with it even the most cheapest airlines give you fluids on long flights why aren't the aviation authority telling them to provide fluids

You sure do have a bad time in the Philippines. I am sure you won't be coming back. Don't you think you should also be blamed for not planning properly your trip? To consider it was just the second country you visited after Japan. Then you were neophyte travelers. And that was 2 years ago or more. Many changes happened to the places you visited. And other tourists attractions for that matter.
Anyway, we never missed you too. We don't need visitors who are always complaining. Always looking for something to criticize. You have wrong set of mind when you came here It was negative. And that set the tone for your travel to the Philippines.

I love you Kara and Nate, but you were complaining the whole time on your trip in the Philippines. The country is an emerging tourist destination, so you should have researched before going. It isn’t like Thailand, SG or Malaysia where everything has already been planned and laid out a looooong time ago.

I agree with that. I've watched A LOT of their videos but in their old ones they complain a lot and seem snobby. Like you're in a third world country. Obviously it ain't gonna be the Hamptons. Soooo glad that as they traveled the world more that disappeared.

Since you left, foreign vloggers have mushroomed and many are now based in th e Philippines. They come, they saw and were conquered. They just have fun, enjoyed their visits and went to bed to rest uncomplaining.

Hi...I was watching your videos and noticed that you folks was able to enter into alot of the lounges in the airport. My question is did u have to pay to get into the lounge or it came with buying the ticket?? I always thought that u need to have a business class or above to enter airport lounges
+kchung9209 we don't pay for lounges. We have the priority pass which came with s credit card sign up and that gets us into many of them. And Nate has high status on American and One World so that also gets us in lounges :) I get in as his guest flying with him. (Nate could probably explain this much better ☺️)
+Kara and Nate I thought that might be the case, I know that on certain level of Amex get you into a lot of the lounges. Thought it was strange that you guys were very conservative with your lunch money but flying Business and lounges !
