This was a great, comprehensive overview of all of those options - most of which I didn't even realize existed! I'll be coming back to this for reference in the future. Thank you!
I had no idea this was even possible! (Old school gamer, not up with the times.) Thanks for highlighting these sites! My wallet may curse you but what does it know?? ;)
Try to make the same mini on each of the 4 like you did, and then order the prints as a follow up to see what you get! Not in solid gold or anything...but, you know :)
I've had a chance to play around with them some. I still think they are all great options. I tried building the same character in each of them. My fallen aasimar warlock/paladin. Anvl and Hero Forge came the closest to what I can picture in my mind for him. Anvil loses points for not being able to adjust the position of his grip on the staff, and I also didn't care for the staff options. Between the two, I do prefer Anvl's pricing single STLs compared to Hero Forge. I would go with Anvl's monthly subscription if it came with unlimited STL files for free instead of just 5. But for roughly $20 per month for 5 free stls, and then every stl after that is roughly $2.50, it's not a bad deal compared to $7.99 each on Hero Forge. But I don't know if I'm going to be making/downloading enough minis per month to justify a monthly charge. Eldritch Foundry is nice, and 3.99 each for STLs isn't bad. The one thing that makes it a no for me is the staff grip position I mentioned was an issue with Anvl. Its worse in Eldritch Foundry. No matter how I adjust the arm, the bottom of the staff is about level with the characters mid shin. Desktop Hero is a strong contender for best of the bunch. It has the best customization when it comes to poses. Like you can pose each finger, its that detailed. I can also make the staff rest on the base, something I could only do with Hero Forge and not the others. I know this site is a work in progress, but what's there, and their facebook posts, are encouraging for what this will turn into. I do like the fact that there is no per STL price. You can get completely free STLs with their limited selection of free items. But once you buy one of their packs, you can make unlimited free STLs with it. The packs are rather limited right now, but it does appear that they are adding to them from time to time, and that they are working on more packs, and more races. It does have the highest up front cost. $30 for the fantasy pack, and $25 for the eldritch pack. But the more minis I make, the lower per-stl that becomes. This was also the only one that had staffs that did not look as big around as a soda can relative to the minis hand. One minor gripe about all of them was the familiars. They all had a rather limited selection for familiars. I know familiars are kind of a niche thing, so are a low priority, but it would be nice if they had more options.
This was very helpful. I haven’t experimented with 3D rendering sites much. Thank you for doing all the research and exploration to put this together.
Glad it was helpful! I had more than a little fun making it!

It's SO much fun!!
@@JesseJerdak I just spent the last hour making one of my wife's WoW characters on HeroForge...who needs productivity anyway!
@@AlexD-X1 ONE OF US!!! Also! What kind of WoW character?!?! I'm a recovering WoW addict.
@@JesseJerdak She represents the Horde as a female Orc Warrior! I play almost everything but right now, a Tauren Guardian Druid!

That's so insightful man! I hope you had fun! I commonly use multiple sites to conceptualize the aesthetic of my characters.
Keep doing a good job dude 👍
Thank you sir! I will try!
This was really helpful! Thanks!
Thank you for watching! I hope it made you laugh!😅
You should do a new video showcasing all the new things each on has had in the past 3 years!!!!
On a scale of 0 bear mounts to 5 bear mounts, how do YOU rate these sites?
My personal leanings DEFINITELY gravitate toward quantity of bears. I will say no more
Super good info and hilarious jokes bruh!
Thank you for this. Now i can try to make my characters again. You were very helpful even if you are a stormcloak rebel.
Eldritch has the problem of not having enough modern options. It gets account when I cannot for the life of me find modern troops.
Can you color these withing thr website?
From I can tell, nope.
With Heroforge being exception of having it.
can't wait for the HF face customizer (2022)
Wait....don't tell me that you also made a minotaur riding a giant chicken?!
Do all of these sites own the right to your creation?
