Here's what I don't understand. I'll be in France so I'll set up that eSim. My understanding is that it uses the cellular connection for data. But I don't want to receive or make any voice phone calls because my US Verizon plan would be too expensive. How can I turn on my cellular connection for data only and not phone calls on my iPhone 13 Pro?
Some of this info is not correct. I have an iphone 7 and was able to download the app and initiate a purchase right up to the login screen. Definitely check the list of compatible devices, with the Iphone SE being the oldest phone compatible as of this writing.
Don’t fall for this. It is ALL bullshit. Aíralo does not work. They’ll send you a long list of instructions that don’t match your phone and won’t work. You will waste hours trying to make it work only to eventually have to buy a local SIM card.
f you struggle to activate Airalo once you are in the destination country that you should activate it manually so that it connects to the towers. Many people have struggled with Airalo seeming to connect and then stop working. Be sure to be connected to a strong wifi signal. Delete the eSIM app from your Cellular Data. Go back to Airalo app. Tap My Esims. View instructions. Tap Manual at the top. Scroll down copy Address and Activation code one at a time and then paste so that you can manually re-enter it when you go back to SIMS in your cellular Data. Add ESIM under your Cellular Data. Press Activate twice. Connects to strongest Data. Keep Data setting to Automatic to ensure your device connects to the strongest signal/ network. Hopefully this helps.
