- Motorcycle camping and a Triumph Bonneville go together like rhubarb and custard. I headed out for the north west coast of Wales for my first night, then planned to head inland towards Mount Snowden for my second day's ride.
Some people say you can't tour on a modern classic motorbike.
I say you can and you should.

Great footage and editing man! Love your work!!

I read Jupiters Travels many, many years ago. Amazing tale. Love the video, sheer quality.
Thanks, it’s an inspiring book for sure!
Another class video 👏🏻 Looking forward to seeing part 2 👍🏻
Thanks dude!
Amazing job! Really liked the shots and the edition, I could feel myself riding with you.

Wow! How have I not found your channel sooner! Absolutely stunning videography and what an incredible place Snowdonia is, I never tire of seeing these landscapes. Looking forward to diving in to the rest of your videos 👍🏻
Thanks very much, North Wales is always a great place to ride. Hope you enjoy the other videos 🙂
Another Masterpiece Matt, hope your feeling better.
Glad you liked it David! Think I’m over the worst of it now 🤞
Lovely and serene, fabulous videography, very impressed with that little tent BTW
Glad you liked the video Peter, I was impressed with the tent too, nice and easy to put up which is just what you want at the end of a day's riding.
Lovely video really peaceful
Great bike and location
Brill job
Thanks 🙏, glad you enjoyed it 😊
Awesome series, true biking in its essence, well done!! 👍👍
Thanks Nelio, hopefully I’ll get few more trips done this coming summer.
Congratulations!! Your videos are the best ever!!
Thanks Flávio! Glad you like them 👍
Simple but captures the joy of motorcycle camping and chilling 😎
There’s nothing better! Glad you enjoyed the video Simon.
Well done! Very inspiring
Thanks, your videos are extremely well made - production goals 🙌
Cool video. So refreshing and calm... Love that bike 👍
Thanks Gus, I love that bike too! 😁
great editing mate - really enjoyed it. Looks like a pretty good trip too - even the weather behaved!
Glad you enjoyed it, the weather was almost perfect, being Wales I did get a little wet on one morning, but only a sprinkling which is pretty amazing I’d say.
I loved the fact that you have multiple cameras including GoPro and perhaps your iPhone too and yet you've kept the exposure and video quality consistent throughout the entire length of the video. It seems that the entire video has been shot with the same camera and same settings. Incredible.
It’s all in the edit 😁
Great video ,love travelling around my home roads.
You’ve got some great roads Terry!
So well shot and edited, love the great feeling and mood in this. You have inspired me to use a few more interesting camera angles in my next video so thank you, every box ticked for me. Motorbike, camping, BBQ and beer which means you have a new sub from me. ride safe and keep it shine side up matey.
Glad you liked the video and happy to have inspired you to use a few different camera angles, I’ll keep an eye out for your next video!
Wow! Always beautiful short movie. So, your artistic sense is truly awesome! I love this channel! Thanks from Japan. 素晴らしい。
Thanks Atsuki, I always appreciate you taking the time to leave a nice comment, glad you're enjoying the videos :)
Like so many of the other comments these videos really are good. Without a word spoken you seemed to have encapsulated with the scenery and music what riding is about. Greetings from Queensland Australia and thank you.
Hi John, so glad you enjoyed the video. I’m trying to make the videos accessible no matter what language you speak, but I think the lack of talking also helps draw you in a bit too, so it’s a win-win I think 😊
Great video, superbly edited and love the music!
Thank you 🙏, so glad you enjoyed the video!
A gentleman with a motorcycle and an idea weekend solo getaway - this must be it !
Superb work all around and Kudos !

Thanks Nareen. It’s good to get some time to yourself sometimes.
Hi classic bike , it amazing country side and amazing views and so peace full
Glad you liked it Paul.
Beautiful work!
Thanks Diego!
Great reading, Ted Simon, all those years ago amazing achievement.
Top vid🏍
It’s an inspiring book for sure.
I'm heading to Snowdonia next month, I hope I get the same sort of weather you enjoyed. Off to watch part 2.
I hope the weather Gods are kind to you, I think you'll enjoy Snowdonia either way though.
You have a very good sense of cinematographic rythm telling a visual story. The essencial is very well built and nicely joined toghether. Very nice the result of your sensitivity.
Thanks Fernando, really glad you enjoyed the video.
Love this.. inspired me to try it on my
motorcycle
Glad to hear it! 🙌
I live within the Snowdonia National Park around 8 miles north of Barmouth that I recognise from your footage! Fabulous roads and countryside that you showcase so very well in your video. Looking forward to part 2.
Thanks Mark. You're lucky to have such amazing roads on your doorstep!
Great roads for the T120.
Just subbed - Love the ride and the energy, brother. Keep on keeping on. Best to you.
Thanks for the sub dude! 👊
This is one of your best videos ever❤❤
Thanks Ibrahim 🙏
@@ClassicRides I am looking forward to meet you one day. I may come to the UK for a job and if it does happen, we'll go for a ride.
great trip look forward to part 2
Thanks Stanley, part 2 should be up within a week once I get a free day to edit it together.
Very nicely done. Especially like the aluminum foil stove.... and the Decathlon tent.
Thanks Charles. The tent is great, highly recommend one for moto camping.
Beautiful vid thanks
So glad you like it Graham.
It's amazing Man, love the travel
Thanks Bruno, it’s all about getting out there and exploring the land. No better way to do it than on a motorcycle.
Nice work! Good taste for it!
Thank you Tony.
Great feel good videos. Quality editing well done.
Thanks Peter, glad you liked them!
Awasome video, man! Great bike!

Thanks Antonio.
Amazing video
Thank you 🙏
Beautiful ride.
Thanks dude 🙏
I welcome you from Russia! I really liked your video format 👍 beautiful places, good music, very nice to watch.
Hi from England! Really glad you like the videos!
Great ride, fella! Hey from Pembrokeshire!
Hey Phil, glad you enjoyed it dude.
Reminded me of a Japanese guy’s videos I used to watch where he’d do pretty much the exact same thing on his little Honda Grom. No words needed. Very chill. Thumbs up.
I think it’s quite a popular way of doing ‘vlogs’ in East Asia which I really like. There’s no language barrier to anyone against enjoying the video and I also love the anime influenced style of storytelling. Plus I don’t ride my bike fast so it’s a style that I like and I think suits my kind of riding. Glad you liked it! 🙌
@@ClassicRides I liked it a lot.
I have a backrest and rear rack on my T120 might be easier with your luggage, but loving your videos they put me in a happy place
Glad you like the videos Jack! 👊
Great vid... fantastic scenery.
Your name suggests you’re a lucky rider!
Classic Rides I am lucky that I live within reach of some lovely roads.
Just found your channel and subscribed . Epic shots well done! I also post motorcycle content . I am in Canada I am hoping to post a motto camping video soon as well.love some of the cool shots you got of the bike riding by so well done .I truly enjoyed this .
very beautiful scenery...the video shooting is also good👍
I like this channel! Thanks from indonesian
Thanks 🙏So glad you’re enjoying the channel!
Great video. Great bike, great scenery, great editing. You have inspired me to get on my T120 and visit there too 😁. Keep ‘em coming, BIG LIKE 👍 from me.
Thanks Batman. I appreciate your hard work in keeping our streets free of crimms .
Btw, if you do get there, the B5105 from Ruthin to Cerrigydrudion is absolutely sublime and relatively free of traffic.
@@ClassicRides thanks 😁👍
@@ClassicRides noted, thanks for that. Looking at the weather now for a good day to visit 👍
@@BATMAN777888 sure is, back to business as usual after today.

Very nicely done. New sub here from Cheshire 👍🏻

Thank you, glad you liked the video 🙂
This is beautiful. Love from India
Thanks brother!
I love your horse ✌
thanks!
I pressed thumbs up even before press play
Haha, thank you so much 🙏
Great video. Where you stopped on the bridge, just after look left and you’ll see the Welsh Matterhorn - Cnicht.
I didn’t know that! Snowdonia is such an amazing landscape.
I wouldn't ask nothing else other than motocamping !!🤙👍
It's the best way to spend a few days!
@@ClassicRides you're damn right
Brilliant, haven't been on a man trip this year so itching to go. Your video really gets the heart pumping to get out on the road and set the tent up. By the way, the fire frame at the beginning would you mind telling me what is called and where i can get one, looks like the final piece in my night out jigsaw. Thanks. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Michael, glad you’re feeling inspired to get out there yourself. The fire pit is just an unbranded thing from Amazon, if you search for “fire pit” I’m sure they’ll come up, should be about £20.
Wowwww really well filmed, just the landscape I dream of seing when I get my motorcycle license by hopefully october this year🥳 I also wanna go camping by bike. I already have the camping gear. Now I need the bike and packs for on the bike. You really went glamping there😜 lovveeeee the bike btw ❤️ so jealous👉🏻👈🏻
You’ll love it when you get your licence, there’s a real sense of freedom when it’s just you & your bike.
Very good!
Thanks 🙏
That campsite looked almost as good as the bike :-)
It’s a nice site during weekdays, gets a bit too crowded at weekends though.
Hehe, did the same some weeks ago on my T120 (maybe the same long weekend?) Beacons and Snowdonia. Elan Valley road between them was my highlight.
I didn’t go as far down as the Beacons, it’s on my list though :)
Outstanding videography and inspirational..... Also reading the same book.... . Need to get away and do the same.
So glad you enjoyed the video, it’s a great book to get inspired for a trip, even if it’s only a couple of nights camping.
it always amazed me how muc stuff is it when one goes camping. i have the same. the other amazing thing is - one day of camping or 3 months of camping - it's the same size of package lol. cannot wait for camping weekends (and longer!). my buddies are already scheming something upstate New York. soooooon... AND .. lol... had to edit the text for this addition. had to google 'rhubarb and custard' :))))))
I expect you have some badly pronounced wrong word for rhubarb? 😁
Can’t wait for it to get a little warmer for camping too, hoping the weather gods are kind this year. ☀️
@@ClassicRides you have to bribe weather gods with rrrhbububabbbah and custard and we'll get it
Brilliant but you need to do a ride and camp in Pembrokeshire, West Wales, you will not regret it!
Thanks Richard, I may just do that!
Awesome...:)
Thanks 👊
Brilliant video and the music just perfect for the video. I really like your tent what make is it?
Thanks Nigel, it’s a Two Second Tent from Decathlon. It’s fantastic for moto camping, it’s easy to put up and has a black-out interior which is really great. Highly recommend it.
The ounly thing that a man need! A Triumph and a book (Júpiter travel , Ted Simón)
I agree, it’s an inspiring book!
congratulations for the channel, your camping videos are amazing, you won a subscriber from Brazil, hug from Fabrício Thix from Rota Alternativa BR channel
Thanks for the sub, glad you’re enjoying the videos!
Great video, please keep them coming. Nice setup too!
I just wanted to know how you get away with having black plates on the bike? I prefer the classic plates and the overall look they have with the style of a bonne. Just curious.
Thanks Finlay. I've not had any bother from the police about the plates...so far. But my feeling is that as long as I don't take the mick, they won't pull me for it. Unless I just happen to catch a bobby on a bad day; also I always carry a proper plate in my pannier so if I do get pulled, I can swap it over straight away.
Very nice..
Thank you my friend 😊
@@ClassicRides 🙏🙏🙏
Beau voyage bucolique, envie de partir moi aussi a travers les routes provençales...Continu, tu fais rêver...
Merci beaucoup!

Hello from Mankato Minnesota USA. Wonderful job on the videos. I know they must take a lot of time to put together. If you don’t mind sharing, what jacket are you wearing in this. Looks very comfortable and nice.
Glad you enjoyed the video. The jacket is a Belstaff Tourmaster Pro, it’s a really great ‘do everything’ kind of jacket, I’d recommend one to anyone.
My new favourite channel. Thanks for your uploads, very well done. I like your taste in spec too, both on and off the bike. Please may I ask what is the tent please ?
I’d love to go touring on my T100, still getting used to riding though, so sticking inside Manchester for now 👍🏻
Best wishes
Thanks, glad you’re enjoying the channel. The tent is a Two Second Tent from Decathlon.
@@ClassicRides thanks a lot. Look forward to your next Uploads.
Love North Wales perfect for Hinckley Triumphs
For any Triumph 🙂, some of the best roads in the UK I'd say.
Hi there.. you for yourself a new subscriber here.. I'm inspired by your channel and planning on something very similar.
And I really like the tent you're using, may I ask where you got it from? Thanks!!
Thanks for the sub! The tent is a Two Second Tent by Decathlon 👌🏻
Nice video. Nothing better than the freedom of a motorcycle. What make was the stand you had your barbecue on? Keep up the good work 👍
Thanks Paul, it's just a £20 raised fire pit from Amazon, doesn't really have a brand but they're easy to find online. Honestly one of the best £20's I've ever spent, it's handy little thing and it packs away small.
Another awesome video. Question, how / where do you store your pop up tent and, are you happy with it? I'm thinking the tents hoop type structure.
Thanks..👍🏍️🏍️
Hi Steve, I think the tent’s great. It’s not so small to pack down, but it fits inside a 30ltr Givi waterproof duffle bag, then that just sits on the back of my seat. The trade off of size is that it’s super easy to put up and take down, for me the last thing I want to do if I’ve just ridden a few hundred miles is to mess about with poles and sheets flying off in the wind. And it’s a black-out tent too, so you can actually get a decent nights sleep without feeling you’re being beamed up to the mothership in the morning.
Excellent video! Thanks for listing your gear but what model tent is that? It’s brilliant!
Thanks Darrell, glad you liked it. The tent’s great, a little bulky on the bike but so easy to put up and take down it’s worth it. It’s the Two Second Tent from Decathlon.
Fantastic. No nonsense motorcycling at its best. Noticed you might be using full frame sensor. Nice cinematography. Just be careful of your cameras frame rate. Some clips are skipping. Keep your timeline conformed at same rate. RUclips processes everything at 30fps, whatever you throw at it. Looking forward to your next adventure.
Thanks for the feedback Patrick. I’ve been a commercial photographer for nearly 10 years but I’ve managed to avoid video until now, so still learning on that front. I noticed the skipping on the drone shots which I hope is due to the card not having a good enough write speed. We’ll see. And I cocked up a few of the transitions which makes it look like it’s skipping a bit. Lots to learn still!
@@ClassicRides Thanks for the reply. Despite all the technical issues, you certainly have my attention. I know a good talent when I see one. Your imagery is just like a breath of fresh air, original and uncomplicated. For this reason I ignor the issues because the content is superb. If you want me to explain how to avoid skipping on your drone shots, let me know. I always say, "life's better when you're riding".
Superb, scenery stunning ,bike very special. I’d prefer a Boutique hotel though rather than camping 😀😀
Ah yes a nice hotel would be good, but I also like camping from time to time.
Unfortunately I only remember being a teen and camping ( we all did it) And of course awful weather . I now live in Jburg , probably the best bikers weather on offer . I’ve just bought a speed twin and loving it 😍
@@walkoptic I'm envious of your weather! Hope you enjoy your Speedtwin as much as I enjoy my T120.
What tent is that? If you don't mind me asking. Brilliant video watched it few times now.
Thanks! Glad you liked the video. The tent is a Two Second Tent from Decathlon, it doesn’t pack down the smallest but it’s so easy to put up at end of a long day riding, I think it’s brilliant for moto camping.
Great video. Live the foldable stove/fire pit. What is it called?
Thanks Jonathan, I don’t know the name of the fire pit, it’s just a generic one you can find on Amazon. They’re about £20 but well worth it I think.
Great vid 👍🇦🇺
What brand of tyre's may I ask are they, look tough
Thanks, they're Pirelli MT60RS. They're really good although the rear tyre is disappearing fast!
Jupiter rocks. Looked around your videos and the comments here and did not see anything about the tires on your T120. I noticed that the rear tire looks to be a bit of an ADV tire, maybe 70/30 on/off. What make and size tires are you running? Thanks! Great Video!
Hey Kim, glad you liked the video. The tyres are a very light ADV style, I got them mainly because they’re excellent in the wet; and it rains a lot where I live 😁.
Details are: Pirelli MT60RS
Front: 110/80 18
Rear: 160/60 17
I am going snowdonia for the weekend on my motorcycle, your camping spot is great, would you mind sharing which campsite that is?
Sure thing, it's called Shell Island Campsite, it gets very busy on weekends though!
Que guapo, me encanta tu bolsa para llevar la tienda de campaña, puedes decirnos cual es?
Buena ruta
It’s a Givi duffle bag 👍
Este tipo ha comprendido el verdadero sentido de la vida...
Thanks 🙏
Is that shell island you stopped at? Love the fold up chair, what make is it ? Great video 👍
Yes it was Shell Island, it’s an easy spot to get for moto camping. The chair is really great, it’s by a company called Trekology and you can get them on Amazon.
@@ClassicRides lovely part of the world. We have a static van at talybont near harlech 👍 I ll have a look on Amazon, thanks
Great vid , was wondering if you can tour on the T120
Hi Garry, in my opinion the T120 is more than capable of touring.
@@ClassicRides i think your right I went and looked at one in my local shop today , it’s a stunner , however triumph have taken the heated grips from the newer 21 models :(
@@garryshirreffs9517 also no centre stand I believe, personally I'd look for a low mileage pre 2021 bike rather than buying one of the new bikes.
@@ClassicRides i think that’s sound advice there are some stunners out there ,
