- There haven't been many chances to go Moto Camping so far this year; but with a short break in the rain due, I loaded up the Triumph Bonneville T120 and headed for the Lake District.
Join me on this quiet ASMR woodland moto camp experience and follow along as I set up camp by the banks of a river, cook some great food and relax to the sounds of nature.

Me encantaba ir de camping con mi moto...pero siempre llevaba mi caña de pescar 😂😂😂...y si pescaba algo...si no...lo que llevábamos...
Your videos Matt are out of this world. Really appreciate the effort and work you put in 🏍️🏍️
Thanks Andrew, glad you liked it 👍
Your mini films are never long enough! & they always make me want to get out for some solo camping on my Bonny, made worse by living in north wales & often recognising some of your camping spots although this one eludes me
That’s because this one’s in the Lakes. More trips to North Wales coming soon but I needed a change this time 😁
@@ClassicRides amazing, you always find the most tranquil spots. Do you use the greener camping club?
@@Matt-cl2qr no I don’t use it, though it looks like a good scheme. I just do a lot of googling to find new sites. I’m quite picky so it narrows it down a lot, but I’m going to add a bit to the website with details on the campsites I visit, save folks the time I spent looking 😁
@@ClassicRides that’s a great idea, I & lots of others would be really interested in that. Keep up the incredible work!
I like your videos and bike 🚴 ride good job
Glad you like them!
Just discovered these thoughtful and beautifully shot videos…thank you for this engaging work 👍🏻
Thanks Guy, glad you like them 👍
Just what I needed on a wet bank holiday Monday afternoon, perfect end to a great weekend 😊 Thanks Matt😊
You're more than welcome sir.
Kanalını ilgi ile takip ediyorum benimde T 100 var😊. Videoların çok keyifli ve huzurlu. güzel içerikler için çok teşekkür ederim, sağlıkla kal kendine iyi bak 🙏
Thank you Firat, I hope you have great adventures on your T100!
Thanks for another great video 😊
🙌👊
your channel is truely different to all this motorcycle staff on youtube. I am watching you regularly from Germany and I love what and how you do it. keep it up. would love to go with you for a ride ;-) best regards...Norbert
Thanks Norbert, glad to hear you're liking the channel 👍🏻
Thanks Matt, that was so needed right now. 👌
Thanks Jer, it was just what I needed too 😁
You have got it down to perfection another great video
I’m not sure I’d go that far, but I’m trying 🙂
Another brilliantly presented ride, really encapsulating the true beauty of the countryside and the Bonneville in tandem. Thank you 😊👍🏻
Thanks William, glad you liked it 🙏🏻
Beautifully produced, thanks for these fine relaxing videos
You’re more than welcome, glad to hear you like them 👍
Loved it Matt....great therapy for all. Thanks heaps
Thanks Mark, glad you liked it 👍
Beautiful video!
I love the close up and the overall editing. Great job! 👏
Thanks, so glad you liked it 👍
Just came back from the week in the mountains and by the river to the big city. Not the best feeling. Your footage made me again feel calm and relaxed, big thanks for those additional hours of cameras positioning, come backs, and your effort. Great mood, congrats, Matt.
Glad the video helped lessen the feelings of being back in the city!
Such a relaxing video Matt, the shots of the bike traversing the paths, the place where you set up camp, the music, everything was superb. Well done, made my Sunday.
Thanks, always glad to hear you liked a video 🙏
Matt …. great videography.
Beautiful camping area.
Very much enjoyed!
Thank you, glad to hear you liked it 🙏🏻
Quality video as per usual, roll on the good weather and great rides.
Thanks Martyn, fingers crossed the rain keeps off for a little while 🤞
@@ClassicRides I do hope so, plenty of miles to be added this summer
Great! I'm really impressed how you can fit all that gear on to your mc!
Packing has become an art form to me 😁
Moments de bonheurs d'une vie paisible d'un homme et sa moto...
It’s all you can ask for 🙂
Thank you for your video, I needed the momentary escape.
Glad I could help 👍🏻
great places and great montage of fantastic images.
✌
Thanks 🙏
Yet another great video, got the Langsett bag, thanks Matt goes great on the luggage rack, May I suggest you get yourself a thunderpuck for off road parking
Thanks Wayne, hope the bag serves you well. Yes I have some pucks..which I obviously left in all my other bags, just not the ones I took on this trip 🤦🏻♂️
Simplicity the Best! Well Ace!!! Cheers, Graham.
Thanks Graham, glad you liked it 🙏
A Man at peace with all he needs to hand 👏🏻 I’ve walked through this beautiful valley so many times to the Lakeland fells, must try camping there too.
It's such a great part of the country, either bike or foot.
Nice motorcycle 🏍️
Thanks 🙏🏻
Nice video❤
Thanks 🙏
WOW, you found a day when it didn't rain! Lovely part of the world to camp.
I know, couldn’t quite believe there was a whole 24 hours without rain forecast, couldn’t waste the opportunity.
Relaxing !!! .... thanks for sharing, and let's hope for a sunny , dry summer....stay safe !!
I’m with you on that, a little dry spell would be very welcome 🤞
Buenas Matt, gracias por estos momentos de paz!!
Como siempre un placer seguir viajando contigo.
Un saludo.
Thanks Eduardo, always glad to have you along 🙏
Nice one Matt
Beautifully filmed, got me in the mood for our end of May 3 day tour of Devon 👍⛺️🏍️
Sounds like you’ve got an epic trip planned, let’s hope the weather gods allow you to enjoy it 🤞
We have, topped off with a 7 day ride round the Wild Atlantic Way at the end of June. It’s all go this retirement lark 👴🏻
Love the quality of your videos. Sound is truly top class. Thanks.
Thanks, capturing decent audio has become my great white whale, hopefully I’m getting better at it 😁
Your vids passing into my feeds today, and I'm enjoying it very much, wow already 21K subs now, definitely missed a lot of your videos.
The video and sound editing are top notch, improving a lot since the last time I can remember watching your back episode.
Welcome back Faisal 🙏 I’m always trying to get better at making the videos so hopefully that shows 🙂
Another awesome video Matt, thanks for sharing these truly inspiring jewels!! 👍👍
My pleasure Nelio, always glad to hear you liked a new video 🙏🏻
Very cool job with the rearview mirror perspective. Well done.
Thanks 🙏
Thank you Matt!
Another wonderful camping- adventure....
👍🏻
Glad you liked it Bernhard! 🙏
thanx for presenting this peaceful video👍🏻
You’re very welcome, glad you liked it.
Enjoyed the video Matt!! Looked like a very relaxing time!
Glad you liked it and it was very relaxing indeed, a very much needed break!
A lovely tranquil setting Matt, although looked a challenge to get to, it always amazes me how much you can carry on the bike, thanks again for another great journey with you.
Thanks Les. Yes the road leading up the site is very sketchy, some parts are just like a dry riverbed. But if I can do it anyone can.
Another delightful mini epic Matt ...definitely a life goal to be as organised a camper as you are ..cheers
I'm not that organised, I just don't show the bits of me getting it wrong and swearing 😁
Very good video and beautiful place.
Thanks, glad to hear you liked it 🙏
Hi classic rides, amazing aera and scenery and great vid and well filmed
Thanks Paul, glad to hear you liked it 👍
Nice video
Thanks 🙏
Good relax
Glad you liked it 🙏
I discovered your channel today and really like the camping videos. Great mood, shots and editing. And these places where you set out to camp are beautiful! Which part of England are they? Greetings from another moto camping enthusiast from Argentina! Cheers
Thanks, glad to hear you like the videos. The camping spots are from different parts of the UK, there's a list of all the places I've used on my website, but mostly I try to pick places that are very scenic.
Well worth the wait, as always, Matt. I thought the sound was especially good - you seem to have nailed how to capture the T120's low rumble while on the road, and no doubt the ASMR crowd will go crazy-happy with that camping scene.
Thanks Simon, I’m using new cameras at the moment which seem a bit better at picking up the rumble, still a bit of experimenting to go though!
@@ClassicRides I think it's the lack of wind noise rumble which is so impressive. Lot's of great shot coverage too. @tshansen would be proud!
@@ReelRidersPodcastThomas is the gold standard 🤞
Just excellent as always , thank you
Glad you liked it Andy 🙏
Незнаю как вам, а мне захотелось срочно приготовить и съесть обед (очень вкусно приготовлена еда)),,,,,,,,и затрак тоже,,,,,,,,,кстати лампа -главный герой этого фильма
That lamp is pretty special 😁
Lovely job Matt 😊
Thanks John 🙌
Always great videos and camping spots! That exhaust sound is just lovely. All the best!!!!
Thanks Diego, you can't beat the rumble of a Bonnie!
He returns. Been a minute Matt.
Oh I know 😁 The weather’s been a real problem this year ⛈️
Matt, a good dry vid. Tough weather in the Lakes area. My camping buds have had a time in the mountains. Blown away, snowed and sleeted on of late. Glad you got a ride and camp in. Interesting gear, Givi bag. Looking at some more luggage for my BMW R9T UGS. Light and simple, waterproof. Hey take care. Excellent job. Next time.
Thanks Sam, it was only a short window of dry weather so I couldn’t miss the opportunity. The Givi bag is good, cheap and waterproof so no complaints from me 👍
Enjoyed watching and loved this type of production. What a fantastic site (is a secret or can you say) hopefully next time you can get one of those star lit night shots 😏 that seems a feature of an ASMR vid. That was some piece of meat and cooked well on the trangia? setup hope you made the bacon bap with brown sauce and not the red stuff the weird people use 🤣 thanks for sharing 👍🏻
It’s no secret, the campsite is Stonethwaite Farm near Keswick. Not sure I’d go there on a weekend but weekdays are great 👌.
Starlit night shots would have been great but for the clouds, it wasn’t raining though so mustn’t complain; and it’s always brown sauce. Red sauce on bacon should come with a prison term.
Excellent stuff Matt. Nicely paced. Nice place....
Thanks Dave 🙏
Thanks for sharing.
Glad you liked it 🙏
Waahh!! Cool 👍🏾👍🏾
Thanks 🙏
I'm rooting for your happiness
Thanks 🙏
Lovely and relaxing to watch as usual Matt, thanks. Like all of your spots, this looks stunning and very scenic. We look forward to seeing more with even bluer skies soon.
I've just completed my DAS and hope to be relaxing in my own little way soon. It won't be on as classy a bike (750gs) but hopefully it'll feel like it getting away from things for a while.
Congrats on passing your DAS, your GS is far more suited to camping trips than my Bonnie so I hope you get to use it for some good adventures this summer 👍
Same videos that others are doing, like MotoFeelz, going out camping on a British machine, but your videos have a special touch, a more cinematic touch, smoother cuts and transitions, definitely a more enjoyable experience, you should consider cinematography. Keep up the good work 😊
Thanks, it’s a Japanese/South Korean style of moto-vlog that has its roots in their culture of motorcycle “coffee touring”. I’m happy to admit the inspiration whereas some others aren’t. Trying to put my own spin on it though!
@@ClassicRides Got cha, but now to think of it, you are correct, I can see that influence in your videos, very reminiscent of that video with all the really old asian guys who decided to revive their spirits, and go out riding on their machines that had been junk for a while, I believe that was a commercial video of some sort, but it does have that style. Well for what is worth, I am already a big fan of your work and look forward to seeing more new stuff from you, maybe one day meeting, I am in the states but would love to tour England on two wheels. I actually live in the part of the states that is called New England 🤠
@@mayimbe2198 Thanks, glad to have you onboard the channel. I imagine New England has slightly better weather than Old England does, but I'm sure both are excellent places to ride motorbikes!
Another superbly filmed video Matt loved the music as always and especially the bit when you parked the bike lovely
Where abouts were you ?
Glad you liked it Ian. The campsite is called Stonethwaite Farm in the Lake District, not far from Keswick 👌🏻
@@ClassicRides thanks matt hope the weather is good with you this weekend
I got out yesterday for a few hours felt like summer thanks again
@@IanClarke-bi3se Yes we've had a much needed respite from the rain, I really hope this is the start of a dry spell!
Madre mía tiene que haber truchas ahi😂😂
What cracking countryside. Lovely to watch. What were the two ingredients poured and sprinkled over the cooked beef? Looked great.😋
Thanks 🙏 the sauce was just dark soy sauce and then a bit salt, pepper and mixed herbs 👌
0:17 That suspension is incredible.
I agree ☝️
chilling
It's the best thing to do 👍🏻
Good work Matt thank you. I will be same you soon. Could you please share with your kind items of camping such as a tent and shade 😊
Thanks, they’re both from Decathlon, the tent is the Two Seconds Easy tent and the tarp is just a basic large tarp.
Freddie Dobbs channel is the poor man's Classic Rides channel. Well shot with great editing. Great effort, well done. Parky to Freddie's Alan Partridge 😂
😁 Thanks Paul, that's quite the compliment 😁
True 😅. However Freddie is a great storyteller, not necessarily a great biker/adventurer.
Nice video
😂😂brilliant analogy😂😂
Each has his style, but Freddy can get on your nerves, the only reason I watch his videos is because the b roll footage that his girlfriend creates, she makes his videos interesting. Freddy wants to be a bike reviewer and he is not.
The 🐦 birds
They saw you camping 🏕
They told the river and 🌳 trees
They were singing songs 🎶
and celebrating 🍾
Along with the dancing leaves 🍃
They heard the Triumph

They watched you ride away
Classic Rides and Classic dreams
All came true today
Thanks Mike, that’s the first ditty ever composed for the channel! 👏🏻
Excellent as usual! Watching your camping videos I always ask myself: what will he cook tonight? Question: what front fender extender are you using?
I always try to keep the meals simple, but fresh and filling, it'd feel a bit wrong eating processed food while camping. The front mudguard extension is called a "Fenda Extenda" by Pyramid Plastics.
Very nice camping trip. I pride myself in my kit and how it all packs away etc., and you are the same. I really like that little lantern! Is that vintage, or something you can still buy?
Thanks Roland, it's a proper Feuerhand lantern which you can still buy new from Amazon for around £40, I'd very much recommend one as they add a little something to your campsite 👌🏻
Great video. Reminds me of my days canoe tripping, canvas bags and all. Where can I get that table?
It’s from Amazon, if you look at the links on the channel you should find one for an Amazon page, on it there’s a section for camping equipment and you’ll find the listing for the table there.
Відео чудове! Велике спасибі за подорож! Лайк! Україна!😊
Thank you, so glad you liked it 🙏
Great video as always Matt. On another note I’m after a bit of advice regarding DGR rides of which I understand you have ridden several. I’m taking part in my first this coming Sunday and am wondering what protective motorcycle clothing I should wear. Obviously for the actual DGR I shall wear dapper attire but riding to and from the event I’m assuming you would wear protective motorcycle clothing . I would be grateful for any tips you could offer.
Many thanks Pete
Hi Pete. I think the best route is probably wearing protective base layers like the Knox stuff, though I think a lot of folk just forgo the normal riding gear for one day and take the risk; the ride should be slow enough that there won't be any massive damage if you come off. Personally I usually wear a Barbour waxed jacket to and from the event as it sort of suits and gives a little better abrasion resistance than a normal suit jacket, but I don't have to ride far to the Manchester event. This year I'm doing it in London so I'll be wearing a proper bike jacket to the event, then I'll put the jacket in a pannier and change to something else for the ride. From my experience there are plenty of people who wear their normal riding jacket for the ride part though, so I wouldn't feel like you can't do that if you don't want to risk it.
@@ClassicRides Thanks Matt. Enjoy your DGR in London
marvelous camping spot. cant hear any "clonk" when youre changing gears - my t120 does that always.
My definitely clonks too, maybe the wind noise covers it up on camera 🙂
@@ClassicRides glad to hear that i could´nt hear that... :D :D :D
Beautiful work again. Where is this place?
Thanks, it’s called Stonethwaite Farm 👌
Hello Matt great film once again what did you add to your steak from bottle and other stuff please I may try it thanks in advance
Hi Steven, it was just dark Soy Sauce, a little bit of salt and mixed herbs, simple but very tasty.
@@ClassicRidesthank you
In the past time… We used kerosene for lantern… but now kerosene not available again in my country. Or difficult to buy it. Now, light with battery. You still using kerosene for lantern?
Good video, cheers from Indonesia
We don’t use kerosene, we have lamp fluid which is specifically made to burn in lanterns, the one I use is even citronella scented so it keeps mosquitoes away 🙂
@@ClassicRidesthanks. Cheers from Indonesia 🤟🏾
Thank Matt , biker chef and vidéos director what else ?
A man's got to have hobbies 😁
This is the first motocamp video that i saw which is not from asia who prepared some rice....
It’s a great food to take camping in my opinion 👍
.👍🤩👍
👊
What camp site it that looks lovely....
It’s called Stonethwaite Campsite. If you can navigate the very sketchy road leading to it and don’t go on a weekend it’s great 👍
@ClassicRides looks perfect..I'm doing my das next month so hopefully will visit it someday... don't think my camper would manage the road🤣
@@kevinoshea2870some very brave folk got their campers down it, not sure I’d want to risk it personally though. Some sections are pretty much just a dry riverbed 😁
Good luck with you DAS, you’ll be out on your own motorcycle adventures before you know it.
@@kevinoshea2870Good luck Kevin. I just did mine too and sooo glad to get that big step up now. I was little nervous at first but it's so more balanced compared to a 125. You WILL love it!
Have fun and relax! As my instructor said it's not a test. It's training with assessments.
@hotdoug1000 I did my cbt 20 odd years ago had a 125... then had kids they older now so it's my turn.. 😁
A+++.
Would sound good with a gentle occasional commentary from you, not constant drivel, but a gentle thoughtful commentary.
Thanks Alex, it's something I might do for certain types of videos in the future.
@@ClassicRides My suggestion is for nothing too full on, like a constant stream of drivel like some YTers seem to think they have to give, but a commentary to compliment your beautiful, laid back style of filming and editing. I suspect given your excellent videos, your occasional thoughts would also, be very interesting. But no problems if you don't feel like it. Your videos are still very enjoyable and relaxing capturing the essence of riding a bike, the freedom and pleasure it brings. ATB.
@@alexmorgan3435it’s always good to hear what folk would like to see in the videos. Speaking in videos is still something I’m working on, I don’t have a natural talent for talking off the cuff like a lot of motovloggers and I’m not totally comfortable doing it. But it’s a work in progress I’d say 👍
