The Mass Effect trilogy is one of those game series that you wish you could play again for the first time, it’s universe and characters are truly wonderful. It’ll take you on a roller coaster of emotions! I hope to see Mass Effect 2 trailers in the future, the trailers for that particular game are my favourite of the trilogy.

I'd honestly say that you should hold off on playing the ME games until you've got LOADS of time. All three games are BEEFY and have so much content to get through. That being said, I've put more hours into these three games than anything else I've ever played and recommend them to everyone lol
I think it depends on how much they want to explore and do sidequests or not. Like for example, the first Mass Effect game can be done pretty quickly if you just avoid going on all the side-planets. Of course then you miss a lot of content, and it can affect future events, too. But you can do that, and that game is done quickly.
Thanks for the recommendation! We do like to check out how long games take to complete to plan it out. Might not play through trilogy back to back and play a game in between 🤔🙂
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames well my twitch playthrough of second game. a complete one where I gathered EVERYTHING that was possible was around 135 hours, so there is that

I came here to say that the Mass Effect franchise means SO much to me... it's hard to put into words. Not only did it introduce me to the world of content creation, back when many people were making videos about it, but it also posed as a milestone in my personal gaming life where I found this particular game I had never seen or played before... then it quickly grew to become my all-time favorite Sci-Fi franchise, bar none. So I cannot THANK you enough for dipping your toes into the world that is "Mass Effect" - I fell in love with all your Warcraft reactions, and I can't wait to see where you're gonna take it next. But if Mass Effect is on the horizon, somewhere... I know it's going to be a good time. :) Thank you, from the bottom of my heart... and here's hoping you're having a healthy & happy day! :)
The remastered version also has updated quality of life improvements for the first (which required a bit) and the others. All DLCs for all games so it's definitely the best deal you're going to get to jump in as newcomers
I've played the trilogy like 4 times now and it's one of my favorite things to recommend people because it's so universally appealing. If you want deep lore and character arcs that span the trilogy or just wanna play a fun sci-fi shooter game, Mass Effect somehow just works on every level
Omg. The mass effect trilogy is a masterpiece. The emotional grip it had on me in the story telling is something I truly have not experienced anywhere else.

Wow, that 3rd trailer is soooooo ooooold. Pre-release version of the HUD, scenes from a quest that never made it in suggesting a plot thread that never happened, and showcasing destructible environments which didn't happen... Damn. And the 4th video? Caleston became Therum in the release version, and had a different setup. There's no civilians, just one scientist you're looking to find. And... Wow, I forgot they originally planned to allow you to control your squad that much. In the release version you can just tell them where to take cover and to use their abilities, and that's it. Also, I can't tell if Ashley had a different VA here than in the games or if she's just doing the character very differently than I'm used to.
I play through the whole trilogy every few years. The original games are the pinnacle of sci-fi story telling. The three games are simply incredible. Some of the characters feel just as close to me as the guys I’ve deployed to combat with. Such a masterpiece and it’s a shame Andromeda wasn’t worthy of the name.
My roommate introduced to this series and I do not regret it. I can make the story my own way and I always lean more towards hero than antihero. It's definitely something I never get tired of.
Mass Effect is amazing, recently replayed the whole series for the first time in almost a decade when the remaster released last year, and had just as much fun with it as I did back when it originally came out, they've held up very well imo. I also got my 2nd ever gaming PC to play the original Mass Effect when it came out, and built my current PC to play Mass Effect Andromeda when that came out. Some of the best Sci-Fi world building and storytelling I've ever experienced.
One of my all time favorite game trilogies! It's such an amazing story and it's correct that saying the wrong thing or not doing a certain quest can lead to characters dying. (similar to Detroit but a bit less advanced) God I wish I could relive my first time playing the trilogy. I also like Andromeda for it's gameplay so I'm happy there's a new ME coming that continues both after the trilogy and Andromeda.
Mass Effect is the absolute pinnacle of video game story telling. Hell yeah. EDIT - And now I'm wondering when these trailers were released, because that sure ain't what our boy Garrus looks like. He was majorly re-designed, for the better I'd say.
And there were cut quest, Ashley's voice acting style was different and what I'm assuming was the original default shepard is vastly different from the shepard we have today
I only played Mass Effect a month before Mass Effect 2, so I've never seen these trailers, it's very similar in some ways but very different in others from the finished product.
Wow, I've never seen the trailers after the first one. What a fun hype train for one of my favorite trilogies ever! Lots of changes happened to the first game after that last trailer, but it was so fun! Whenever you get going on Mass Effect, I hope we get to see some of it!
I've made 42 runs of the trilogy, and i love it even more than the first time. Its the kind of games you remember every details of your first time and wish it could be the first time again...

The Mass Effect series, The Witcher 3, Red Dead Redemption 2 and Life is Strange 1 are the 4 games out of countless that I have played throughout my life that will always stay with me.
When Mass Effect first came out, it was revolutionary. Fully-voiced RPGs with branching dialogue? Cool. Fully-voiced, fully animated PLAYER CHARACTER in a branching dialogue RPG? First of its kind.
You need to check out the Mass Effect 2 Launch Trailer. It’s one of the best video game trailers I’ve ever seen. It began my love for trailer music producers like Two Steps From Hell.
In last december the legendary edition, which contains the whole trilogy with all DLCs, was free to get with PS plus account. Unlucky me I already had this edition. 🙂
Omg, I'm so excited to see you both checking out some more Mass Effect! Would you be interested in seeing some of the multiplayer DLC trailers for Mass Effect 3? They just show some cool characters that were added to the game for free. Also, if you do decide to play the games, do you think you would do a stream of your playthrough?
Ah, the game that I played only 15+ times. If there is any single thing I learned about it, that would be that it's not just a game, it's an entire experience. Awesome to see people without any experience with it react to the trailers. They show show much, yet still barely scratch the surface of all that Mass Effect trilogy is.
"I like that guy for some reason," She's going to love Mordin when you two get to play the game. I do love that you two watched "In Distress," The first trailer...it is honestly one of the best trailers for the series as it stands. It's ominious enough for you to realize that your decisions really do affect everything you do.
If you decide to play these, get the Legendary Edition. The first is too old to play the OG, almost 20 years 😆 The Legendary ed. improves the first a lot, and its cheaper as you get all 3 games with all dlc. They are well worth a playthrough (or two) 🤙❤ Also, that trailer with Casey Hudson is a very early version of Mass Effect 1. Its not how it looks, a lot changed up to release.
You should play it. The Legendary Edition makes it extremely easy to get through all 3. But keep in mind, these early video's didn't necessarily get translated into the games as you're seeing here. And game 1, runs completely different from games 2 and 3. But I wish they'd have gone over the class system. You choose how your backstory formed and what your specializations are. If you want a background that'll carry through all 3, go with Spacer. You get to verbally interact with your parent in ME 1 and 3, the other options are limited to only ME 1 if I'm not mistaken. Also, Engineer is underpowered in ME1, but is, imo, god tier in ME3.
These are the og trailers. The game is fairly old and the recent remaster polished it up quite a bit. These were ambitious games and among the three the first and third somewhat buckled under the weight of that ambition although in different ways. It's so hard to make long form stories with carried over choices. So much so that no one else has ever attempted what the ME trilogy did.
This came out first in 2007 ! And it is not just the best RPG for this period, it is my favourite Sci-Fi Story, more emotional important than Star Wars actually. And that mean something. This trilogy is full of different races, all with there own motivation, politics, and religion. I really like to know who do you like in this game and who not, because this is rather important for the decisions you gonna make, and like in modern Assassin's Creed games the choices you make are "meh" but not in this one, and because that was totally new at least for me back in the day, i got hyped and get never dissapointed. And of course you can play as a female "Commander Jane Shepard" which is more intersting. 😘 I'm completly biased and always honest, played the "Legendary Edition" a while ago, which looks really good, and the gunplay has changed a bit. For modern gaming standards it has it's flaws here and there, like you walk pretty slow on the Citadel Space Station which is your Hub, like the lake of nine in Dad of War.. But believe me.. as a lets play or if you like to check out game-movies of this masterpiece trilogy. Shepard will not let you down..
Have you guys reacted to the Final Fantasy 7 Reunion Crisis Core trailer yet? This game is amazing and are the events that had happened prior to the original Final Fantasy 7 with Cloud.
Yes Ken that was Seth Green. Also he made me drop the controller and fall out of my chair in laughter at least twice in this trilogy. (Edit) Also I was just about to make a another run checking out things I still haven't seen after all these years when I saw this video on my timeline.
My absolute all time favorite gaming trilogy. Would love to watch along as you guys play this if you decide to go down that path. You can get the entire franchise with DLCs for like $25 since the legendary edition came out. I'd say I'd love to see you watch the rest of the trailers but that would spoil the first game which is arguably the best story wise and would spoil many of the big reveals.
If you guys play it eventually I suggest playing the remastered version, for one thing it looks better but the other thing is in the original version the controls are a bit confusing.
This is one of the best trilogies of all time. Definitely something both of you would love playing thru and making choices. You can have a femshep or male Shepard. Hope to eventually see you guys go thru it. There's even difficulty modes that heavily reduce gameplay for more of a story mode game where fighting is super simple.
The literal definition of paradise lost. The first game is the pinnacle of "world building", it's rough as hell and some things just trail off into "more numbers" But you literally SEE where this game is going and the kind of universe, not game, but entire universe this story can become.... and then in the middle, at the crescendo of the Protagonist's Dilemma... *everything* changes. everything. Your goals, your friends, your very existence is permanently altered and the stakes go straight to 11. That is indeed Jeff Green. and Keith David. and Marina Sirtis. Without going into the drama of the last game, the first one is literally unique. There's nothing like it. The game was started when EA was in one of their "evergreen" phases and greenlighting all kinds of brave and unique projects, Bioware were of course the perfect company to bring a new rpg into the light. Like Dragon Age, Bioware made something comfortingly familiar in a brand new package with a new level of sophistication on top and there's nothing else quite like it, even now.
Mass Effect is one of those games you can play literally hundreds of times and yet it feels different each time it also gives you hundreds of hours worth of gameplay. If you guys decide to play the game play Legendary Edition it has all the DLC in the game series. There's a ton of lore to it and it's well written for the most part. And yes Joker is voiced by Seth Green he does a brilliant job as a VA giving a character such depth. If you decide to play the game and listen to the lore you can spend a good 10 hours just on the lore alone... 10 hours per game.
I'd really like to check you both out playing the ME trilogy (mind you it's around 30 hours per game) but the last two trailers are not fully represantative of the final game. They're basically two vertical slices about missions and events that are not in the final build (or if they are they're very different), the main protagonist's predefined face is different, the graphics is different (way better imho), no "bathroom sign" icon (sorry 😂) and also there's zero chance to control directly the party (you can just give them generic commands)
The Mass Effect games are definitely some of the most fun ones I played back in the day. I can never figure out which one is the best though. I tend to lean towards ME2 cuz that's really the one I spent most time on and grew up with
Mass Effect 2 was a HUGE step up in quality, storytelling, and gameplay over the first game imo. I'd compare it with how most people consider Empire Strikes Back against the rest of the Star Wars OT. But although I think that even tho ME3 is kinda all over the place in terms of quality (especially toward the end), it's really good in its own right too. I'd rank them ME2 > ME3 >= ME1.
@@drayman101 I thought that ME2 was actually a stepdown in terms of the main story. Almost everything else is improved from the first game. But the story, and especially the Illusive Man, feels a bit fanfiction-y.
Wow I've never even seen these trailers before I've also noticed the gameplay and some otr stuff is different from what I know when I played it so they changed a lot of stuff in the game, in a good way.
You guys timed this perfectly considering Bricky is doing a big Mass Effect project soon. Also Mass Effect is one of my favorite series of all time but I've never seen these early trailers and they are so incredibly funny and cringy when you've actually played the games.
It's my favorite game series of all time. Now going through the remaster and feels new in many ways. That and the replay ability is out of this world. See what I did there? Definitely play it.
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames I didn't know you're planning to play ME1. That sounds awesome. Well, then it's better to leave ME2 reactions for later :)

If you decide to play these, get the Legendary Edition. The first is too old to play the OG, almost 20 years 😆 The Legendary ed. improves the first a lot, and its cheaper as you get all 3 games with all dlc. They are well worth a playthrough (or two) 🤙❤
Also, that trailer with Casey Hudson is a very early version of Mass Effect 1.
Mass Effect 1 is such an underrated game. Most only talk about Mass Effect 2-3 but to me, ME1 has the best story.
Love your reaction as always. I'm just uploading my triple trailer tuesday reaction video :)
Nice! 🥳
I'm completly biased and always honest, played the "Legendary Edition" a while ago, which looks really good, and the gunplay has changed a bit.
And we always appreciate your honesty, Sharky! So when you love a game we know it’s special 😊
Have you guys reacted to the Final Fantasy 7 Reunion Crisis Core trailer yet? This game is amazing and are the events that had happened prior to the original Final Fantasy 7 with Cloud.
We hadn’t seen it yet. Thanks for letting us know that it’s a prequel 🙂
I’m Commander Shepard and Definitely Not Definitive is my favorite RUclips Channel.
Yes Ken that was Seth Green. Also he made me drop the controller and fall out of my chair in laughter at least twice in this trilogy. (Edit) Also I was just about to make a another run checking out things I still haven't seen after all these years when I saw this video on my timeline.
ME1 is in my top 10 games of all time. ME2 and 3 also made it in my top 100 games i ever played.
Mass Effect Legendary edition. I have them all! I love Mass Effect.
You guys NEED to play this trilogy !
I think David Anderson is voiced by the same person who voices Zavala from destiny.
I am writing this to help out ken and Bethany and this video and this channel with the algorithm ♥️✌️😘😊
I tend to lean towards ME2 cuz that's really the one I spent most time on and grew up with
I love ME2 for it's rebel-like aesthetics.
Wow I've never even seen these trailers before I've also noticed the gameplay and some otr stuff is different from what I know when I played it so they changed a lot of stuff in the game, in a good way.
trust me, i know how you feel about just too many games to play. i am like that too
You guys timed this perfectly considering Bricky is doing a big Mass Effect project soon.
Launch trailers are the best imo. It would be great if you react to them.
I would love to see you reacting to Mass Effect 2 & 3
Would it spoil Mass Effect 1 for us though 🤔
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames I didn't know you're planning to play ME1. That sounds awesome. Well, then it's better to leave ME2 reactions for later :)
This video video only covered ME1. The graphics, well just everything is vastly approved the trilogy.
The remaster is literally on a different level for obvious reasons.
You guys should give the game a try!
The ME trilogy is my favorite franchise..i played it game by game + dlc's back when and i bought the ME legendary edition whewn it came out , and im now on my 3rd playthrough this time around, you should look up who the voice actors are in the 3 games, you'll be surprised to see the amount of star quality there ...
you guys really do need to prioritoze the trillogy a bit, it is a lot more than just a couple games it is an experience, and the squad mates become like extended family
Interesting how little they retained from the last trailer...
Seems like a completely different universe.
The Mass Effect series and the Witcher are one of the best i've ever played. Both stand lonely at the top for me. You should definitely check out Mass Effect! :)
Its my favourite series. I have played it so many times, ME3 specifically as it has my favourite romance lol
Yes, that was Seth Greene.
Mass Effect! Yes!
😎🤟🥳
Hey like the video was wondering if y'all would be going back to react to some of destiny 2 cutscenes and trailer.
It's my favortie Trilogy ever, I'm actually playoing it again, currently on the third one, I can't not play the entire thing, it's too good! XD
