What's really weird about this is that the version of the deluxe on comixology actually includes the braniac story rather than the bizarro one and every online (physical) shop I can find claims to do the same (even though clearly they don't)
Loved these small hardcovers. I can read them in a day or 2 and not forget what I read. Not surprised that the solicitation was wrong. Hopefully that won’t happen much anymore

I think I this is a perfect story for beginners and current readers and one of my favourite mainstream Superman stories
It reintroduces General Zod a very important villain to the Superman mythos

When I was younger I read all of Byrne’s Superman and stopped. I didn’t realise that Stern took over afterwards. Was that run also great? I hope DC continue this Man of Steel line with those issues!

What's weird to me - on Hoolpa (library digital service) the Deluxe edition DOES have the Brainiac story. So I would would have bought this assuming the Brainiac story was in it.
It’s weird how they’ll take a chance on bringing out omnis of death stroke and Harley Quinn but not on their flagship character who will most likely sell out on day one. A death and return of superman reprint would also be sold out in minutes again. We want more superman but I will get this if it means sales of this will get us closer to omnis 🔥☝️
Thanks for the overview Omar and answers to my questions. I already received this and couldn’t quite place what was wrong. I guess I too thought when these books are moved up to the “deluxe” treatment from an already existing HC That we would get everything that the original HC had in content and then some. Too bad the Braniac story isn’t included. I’ll enjoy this larger format and love this book anyways.

So weird that the newest TPB for this story is Last Son & Brainiac but without #10 Annual, then this deluxe has last son and Bizarro with the #10 annual.

am I the only one who’s inside cover art at @2:29 is upside down. When I got mine I thought it was weird but now seeing Omar’s is right side up I’m wondering did anyone else get an upside down one?
Did the Final Crisis Omni actually have the 3D pages or was that just Absolute Final Crisis?
Great video Omar! I was annoyed they left Action Comics Annual 10 out of the original collection. I’m glad they included it in this one but they should have put it before the “3-D” issue instead of at the end. That Annual bolsters all the story elements and very much sets the stage for that “3-D” issue. I am glad they reverted the 3-D to 2-D though. 3-D in collected editions are a pain.

Having read this before - I will say I really loved it (Last Son). With Donner helping out on writing, I could envision this arc as a great Superman movie. The art by Adam is epic and really gives it a movie/widescreen feel.
The Eric Powell Bizarro story is great because it is Eric Powell from The Goon and I love his art to death. It is also a great father/son Pa Kent/Clark story.
While the substitution of Bizarro for Brainiac (Gray Frank art) is surprising - I prefer the Bizarro story to Brainiac. The Brainiac story turned into a bit of a slug fest and was (IMO) forgettable - but the Bizarro story (while strange) had heart.
I always thought it would be a cool idea if Superman and Wonder woman had a son from a different universe who was even powerful then either of them but he was evil. He would then come over into there universe with his own team similar to that of the crime syndicate but not just evil versions of the justice league. But what would I know I'm not a writer.

Minor bit of correction: the only collected version of Final Crisis that had the 3D part was the Absolute edition. One of the reasons why I didn't buy the omnibus.

I purchased this book and returned it straight away for a refund as soon as I found out that it did not have the braniac issues I was after.
I only found out when I opened the book, when I placed the order via my LCS website it was advertised as showing the braniac issues.
I bought this to their attention and they said looks like DC made some changes to the book and did not notify them of the changes.
As soon as I told them they updated their website with the correct issues - apparently this is happening to other online shops as well and hopefully by now they would have updated the information to prevent customers complaining.
Seriously DC.....if you are reading this, get your shit together.
This is not acceptable and unprofessional and it is not the first time they have done this and pulled this stunt.
