This video contains gameplay from The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom for the Nintendo Switch in HD. A common criticism people have with TotK is that the sage abilities are bad and annoying. But, are they really annoying? Today I live commentate while conducting an experiment to test just how annoying the sage abilities are. Will I accidentally use Sidons ability? Will Yunobo be really far away from me? If so, this video will end. From doing shrines, fighting bosses, exploring the depths and more! These are some of the best and funniest moments I had testing how annoying the sage abilities are in Tears of the Kingdom. Hope you enjoy :D

I do honesty prefer BotW’s way of using other character’s powers where you didn’t have to deal with them running all over the place. Though it’s really nice that we don’t have to wait a while for them to recharge to use their powers again.

I'm glad you enjoyed! Yeah in botw you had to wait a long time for them to recharge. It's much faster in TotK
You need more then those two rules, if the sages breathe, over, if they take more then 4 seconds to reload, over, if the sages don't do damage to an enemy you engage with, over, if they block your vision, over,

yeah it can be especially annoying when you need to use one, but they are nowhere near you

You can whistle, but it usually helps if you know which they are heading in general.

I love, love, LOVE this game ... but I hate, hate, HATE the sage abilities. I turn them off as soon as I can and only use Yunobo when I want to save on bombs. And Sidon is absolutely worthless ! I agree that they should have at least mapped the sage abilities to buttons so you didn't have to run around like a chicken with your head cut off to get close enough to them to activate them. They are truly the worst part of an otherwise wonderful game.
agreed. Using them mid combat is the worst because I want to use their power but then they are off fighting an enemy by themselves lol
I think Mineru is the most annoying, because when you're fighting she comes up and blocks your hits, it takes forever to get off of the place where you control it, and it glitches a lot
And honestly Mineru is just annoying in all, I don't think she would help in any kind of situation other than needing air time to hit shots.
And my favorite is Tulin, his shots are always accurate always hitting the head so it stuns them, and he is very helpful for traveling.
Yeah I agree. Mineru is really big and blocks the camera a lot
