This video contains gameplay from The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom for the Nintendo Switch in HD. Today I react to the Tears of the Kingdom version 1.0.0 and 1.2.1 world record speedruns by LovelySirius and Dracolink! This is my second time watching a TotK speedrun so I'm interested in seeing how things have changed and evolved since then. How do speedrunners go straight to ganon and beat the game in under 50 minutes? From doing tons of glitches, skipping the big hyrule chasm, and clipping under the map, these are some of the best moments. Hope you enjoy!

Honestly, getting a world record is impressive no matter how it’s achieved. But it would be incredible if Player5 saves at least 8 seconds and is first again! Perhaps it’ll happen again, you never know. I’m now gonna watch to see how crazy speedruns have gotten!

Excellent video! very good analysis of the run for someone who hasn't seen all the crazy new stuff that's been implemented in the last few months! I love seeing what tricks you thought were very impressive/hard and which tricks you thought were more simple because this run is quite deceptive and the hard looking stuff is generally easier than the easy looking stuff. For example demon dragon is actually probably the hardest part of the run especially on good pace just because the cycle we make is actually very tight, as well as the little backwards jump we do after intro is also probably one of the hardest parts LOL. again awesome video thanks for showing off my run and I hope I can produce some more reaction worthy runs! and maybe react more myself next time...

I am a top 1.2.1 runner (fifth as of this comment) and I just want to say thank you for featuring us. It’s great to see someone acknowledge current patch speedruns. Draco is out of this world I tell y’a he’s 2 minutes ahead of second place so that run is litteraly perfect lol. Zero mistakes and even doing an incredibly difficult trick at the end of demon dragon

Hi luckystyles! I find it intresting how 1.2.1 speedruns are significantly less glitch based and more movement based; the skill level definitely seems higher compared to memorizing inputs for glitches
@@thecatmanager umm no. 1.0 is definetly harder, because it has tons of super difficult tricks like intro clip and wingflip at the very beggining of the run. However, the most difficult trick in any of both runs is the way we get arrow smuggle, that you saw Draco do in this speedrun when he went to the like like. It involves a frame perfect input. The endgame section is also a lot harder on 1.2.1, so overall I’d say 1.0 is slightly harder but both difficulties are similar

( 6:10 ) i think i got an explanation for this..
what i think he did is: jump slashed (to cancel downward momentum), went back into skydiving, then started climbing on the shrine, as climbing things while falling stops fall damage, cause, well.. it slows you down to a stop. (sorry if that was messy, i tried to explain the best i could) (god dang it, i made this comment before watching that he sorta explained it too, oops)

When people forget the UK uses miles
that's news to me lol
I love the SR's of both botw and totk. a while back I learned how to use the hydrants and recall to be able to clip through every surface. so instead of clipping to the DKA fight, I figured why not clip straight into Ganondorfs arena. but dang that is one helluva task to undergo bc of the layers of collision. at one point youre just knee deep in the middle of pure gloom but you cant see it and still have to get the hydrant trick to work while losing health. also the controls just go all over, up is down left is right, until you reach solid ground again, its crazy. still SO to who came up with the totk glitches.
only thing I dont get is how an amiibo fits in to a fair speedrun, if anything that just seems like a cheat to me, instantly spawning things you (might) need kind of takes away from the difficulty, but guess its fair game?
oh yeah I recently learned that hydrant recall glitch too! I thought of trying to get to ganondorf with it but never tried. I wonder if the developers put extra collision down there just to mess with speedrunners lol
Whaha yeah I think they really did bc navigation is non existent. Tried to glitch through at a few points like a part in castle town and even to be sure, in some points in the forgotten foundation but as soon as you pass the dka arena, you’ll land on top of one of the collision layers and then the headache starts 😂 but def try it out too bc I still don’t know if you can skip the entirety of the demon king army battle. If someone manages to zuggle some weapons prior to clipping into the depths and they DO find a way through, the speed run might change again 💯💪

alright so something you didnt mention was that second phase ganon didnt have to specail long hp bar. this is because when he cliped during the colgera fight, the game got tricked and replaced ganondorfs boss health with colgeras. tl:dr game thinks ganon is colgate.
Yeah I kinda figured thats what happened when I was editing! Pretty interesting stuff. Even the colgera boss music kept playing instead of the ganondorf boss music
And now I want to figure out how to duplicate items in the current patch. I need rupees :(

haha I must have gone through a time machine if it's already been 10 years since TotK came out
He couldn't attach monster part to the Spear because he first needed to obtain one Monster Horn from the enemies that sawn and then later fusing that to the Zuggled weapons to deal massive damage to Ganondorf right at the end. Zuggle is such a powerful glitch that stacks weapons on top of each other, and it's not limited to weapons, but shields and bows also which also allowed them to do tricks like the bow jump glitch thing, arrow smuggling I think it's called so you're holding an invisible bow in your hand but the arrow will be visible.
