- Hi, this video shows you how to use your Nintendo Switch on a TV or Monitor without HDMI. I show you it working on DVI, A/V composite, Scart and VGA connections.
If you have the option then use HDMI as it will give you the best and easiest connection. This video just shows that you also have an alternative option if you are using older equipment.

Josh Carriker I'm an American and I know it's something us overprivilaged Americans never got. No latency CRT tvs. Sadly since you scrubs use 50hz, scart is unusable in 60 hz American tvs

for the HDMI to DVI bit, I'd like to clarify that there are three types of DVI connectors: DVI-A(nalog), DVI-D(igital), and DVI-I(ntegrated, basically DVI-A & DVI-D in one). Because HDMI is digital, you'd all need to make sure that the DVI end of the cable is either DVI-D, or DVI-I. If it is DVI-A, it will NOT work since you'd need a converter box to turn a digital video signal into analog.
So please double check the cable before buying them!

Thanks for the tips. I hooked my switch to my monitor, but I used the headphone jack to plug in my external speakers. Works well!

what I'm really looking for: a way to stream the picture to a PC/laptop monitor *without* being docked and *without* a wired connection.

1:02 Same setup here, but comes up in greyscale on my HDTV on component input, but comes up as a split greenish signal on AV input. When plugged into my capture unit(with only composite), I only get sound. No video at all.
Any existing HDMI to USB adapater that makes possible to plug into the Tv usb port ?? My tv hdmiport is broken but has usb ports available. Thank you in advnace for your help !

Can I ask you a question? I have a Sony 720p HD tv with no hdmi ports, only component and RCA. I bought a converter from hdmi to component. I plugged all five jacks into the converter. I get the sound from the switch but not the video. It is all squiggly lines etc. I know the cables all work because I use them to actually watch tv etc. I am on the correct video channel on the tv so can’t figure out what I am doing wrong. HELP!

I never even put two and two together that I could HDMI to SCART, and then SCART to BNC and play Switch on my PVM. I definitely want to try that now.
