    Hey Paul, thank you for your clear explanation of a CAV system. It's really helping me out! I have a question: is there also such thing as a terminal 'recool' instead of a terminal reheat for CAV systems?

    • @EngineeringMindset
      @EngineeringMindset  6 лет назад +1

      You could do it but it's very expensive to make, run and maintain. Much easier for the central plant to do. Otherwise just add a split unit in the room

    Which system occupies the least floor area? VAV, CAV, FCU or underfloor A/C system?

    Thank You so much for your videos !!
    Can you please make videos on HAP sofware..
    how to calculate loads with the help of Hap !!

      @@EngineeringMindset Hourly analysis program(HAP) it is the software and it is used to find heat and cooling load calculations by giving required parameters.

    So we can say the main differences between CAV and VAV are the motorized damper unit with its complimentary accessories which will control the air volume for thermal comfort and the working time and power of the AHU for energy saving purposes?

    • @EngineeringMindset
      @EngineeringMindset  7 лет назад +4

      +John Ron correct.
      CAV you get what you're given
      VAV you get what you need

    Can't you just install dampers before the diffusers, so you can adjust them manually in order to control the cold air flow? So you could adjust this flux according to the thermal load

    • @EngineeringMindset
      @EngineeringMindset  5 лет назад

      Yes that's a VAV system, check this video ruclips.net/video/HBmOyeWtpHg/видео.html

    With regards to the dual-duct CAV, Is there a thermostat in each room allowing temperature control per room?

    • @EngineeringMindset
      @EngineeringMindset  7 лет назад

      Each zone should have it's own temperature sensor to which the dampers in the mixing box will change position to hit the correct supply temperature as required to the location. Sometime multiple small rooms can be classed as one zone.

    • @brianpun6329

      The Engineering Mindset The dual duct can be seen as vav?

    If the total flow rate of all AHU and FCU in the building = 311 L/S
    What the best suction pressure and discharge pressure in the chilled water pump

    • @EngineeringMindset
      @EngineeringMindset  7 лет назад

      It's not as easy as that. You need to calculate it and the method you use depends on the design of the pipework and location of the pump/s. You should have a "description of operation" and commissioning data sheets for your building, check these.
