I didn’t know much about this company and don’t own any of their equipment. And then I started watching these videos with him and just see this genuine guy with incredible knowledge and common sense - there’s no bullshit in him. Just ordered an amp and will give them a try.
Things to remember: 1. These guys have a solid pedigree. Muse and Theta digital. Both highly regarded high-end companies. 2. The book "Schiit happened" spells out how they created a niche that is able to make high end equipment in the USA (not China) and eliminate the costly overhead and boutique pricing. 3. Many Schiit audio products totally outperform expensive boutique components from just a few years ago. 4. Stereophile gave the Freya + "Class A" which is rare to unheard of for an affordable product.
This is the kind of company I fantasized about starting as a young guy getting into audio. I loved the Mondial/Acurus gear of the 90s that offered high end build quality and design for average prices, Schiit is the sweet spot, you won't get more for the money.
When sporting 2 glasses of wine, makes sense to conduct an interview from the SchiitR -for continuity’s sake. The wellspring of innovation from this guy asstounding.

I am retired, can’t afford your electronics, but I always read SHIIT REVIEWS, THANKS FOR MAKING AMERICAN MADE ELECTRONICS, I CAN STILL REMEMBER MY ADCOM 555-ll & my carver m 1.0 t amp & Lazarus tube preamp, i always bought used Maggie’s & used the kit to fix the wires buzzing , last one was the 2.5 Happy new year Christian
The best presentation I have personally seen from Jason, and I like the fact that it's solo. Thoughts tend to veer off course when there's more than one person involved. This talk was confident and bright and revealing of your own personal thoughts on what you do on a daily basis, and precisely yet concisely what it means to you. Happily absent here were two things: ' Well, shucks we don't know everything. We just kind of do what we do and hope that we're doing the right thing within the context of what we know.' And my personal least favorite: 'You can buy from us, or not buy from us. We don't really care either way. There's plenty of other companies out there selling decent products that may suit your needs better.' Regardless of the intent or philosophy behind those kinds of statements, I don't think the majority of people really want to hear that.
I love the simplicity of the Urd. Im still learning the switch positions. I am still fighting the urge to not use USB! I love the sound of the Unison USB with my Yggy. Glad you love your job, your pace. By extension you love US! Cool.

Been asking on Reddit about the SYN and get few positive comments. I need a small form factor movie "surround" device. Would be cool to match my other Schiit. How do you use yours?? tia
@@shaymcquaid I use my SYN mostly for Gaming and Movies and sometimes music. I have it paired with a Burson Soloist 3XP Amp for Headphone use and also to some Monitor Speakers I use in a Music Recording setup. Don't have any sort of Floor Speaker setup... but I'd imagine the SYN would be great for a Speaker setup like that to get some nice Surround sound going. I'd say I use the SYN 90% of the time with the Burson Amp and headphones for gaming and it's excellent. The HP input on the SYN itself is ok too
I have a pretty expensive system. I needed a headphone amp for my other rig and got the Shiit Valhalla, not really knowing what to expect. I was very very pleased with the sound from that little amp. No complaints at all.
I have a Midgard, I like it. It's Schiit through and through, just clean power. I for one am glad you have more solid state in the line up. I would like the Midgard to be a balanced out circuit.
Just visited the shop yesterday for thr first time. Wish I could have stayed longer but it was pouring out and I had to get going. Anyways, thanks for all cool gear.
I design and build my own stereo gear and wish I could just pick these guys brains. They seem to have the thought process more in line with a lot of the diy audio community compared to all the big name brands. I build a stereo with a watt or two more than their Rekkr amp and think it would be awesome to compare it with them.
Any chance you’ll release a three channel amp to stack with Syn? I’m snagging a Syn in the new year, and would love a high power three channel amp to run L, C and R channels!
